I like having the option to use fields for our company needs. This allows us to code depreciation down to a department level, track projects, and still have available fields for the future. It is easy to run my reports without issues. The technical support team is very helpful with implementing and integrating new companies. Sometimes I have issues with the software running on our server correctly. But I think this is a server issue and not a Sage issue. Sage is always very helpful when this issue arises. We are a multinational corporation, with assets all over the US that we need to track. Sage helps us track those assets and depreciate them for tax purposes (different than book). All assets are Captured, and the system automatically calculates depreciation until asset's entire life cycle. Sage provides tax fixed assets rules updates on a regular basis and seems to have a solid grasp on the rules governing fixes assets both from a tax and GAAP perspective. The system layout is mostly easy to follow and includes all of the areas of focus and features I need in a fixed asset software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Sage Fixed Assets? Where Sage struggles is in it's import/export feature. It's clunky and awkward to use. It leaves you going through loops of continuous selections in order to export necessary reports. It takes tons of time to do this for all of our companies. Additionally, the import feature is nearly impossible to understand and figure out. Finally, the software is a bear to maintain and gets updates installed for. Our IT group has to keep extensive notes on what needs done in order to maintain the system and often times spends hours on the phone with technical support to get our updates installed. Recommendations to others considering Sage Fixed Assets: It's relatively well priced, and does provide you with a platform to track, maintain, and calculate depreciation and fixed assets. I use Sage Fixed Assets to maintain my asset listing and for depreciation purposes. The program is fairly easy to use. You can easily create or dispose of your assets as needed. Each asset file has plenty of fields for detailed information on the asset. There is several report options to print asset listing, disposals reports and various depreciation reports. The depreciation methods are current and updated as laws change. It's very easy to select the depreciation method you need for individual assets. I have several companies created for each location, but for CPA reporting at year end I am able to create a new company that includes all of my location files so that the data is all on one report, for reporting purposes. I have always been in charge of fixed assets with every company I've worked at and had to keep track of fixed assets and calculate depreciation manually. The interface is pretty straightforward with the asset's information, such as description, life, costs, depreciation method and tax depreciation method. What do you dislike about Sage Fixed Assets? I did not notice any checking mechanism within the tool to notify me any errors or help reconcile differences. So if something was entered wrong, it may take some luck or time and patience to locate and fix it, even the tiniest mistake. And fixing the error is not that easy.
