This program also makes it easy to send materials out to students. We also have purchased licenses from other companies like Discovery and the History Channel to view and share their materials. If a teacher needs an additional resource to add to a lesson, Safari has become the place for them to find these things. We also create and store our digital announcements here to easily be pulled by teachers to show in their classrooms and on TVs around the school. **What do you dislike about SAFARI Montage?** It does take a little bit of time to understand how Safari has organized its materials. Safari organizes items into playlists. A playlist is basically a lesson that contains various multimedia items, such as a video, a quiz, and a discussion board. It took my teachers a while to grasp that concept. There are also so many things available on the dashboard (main page) of the program that it can get confusing to figure out what you need. **Recommendations to others considering SAFARI Montage:** I recommend Safari to any school district looking to store and share multimedia resources. Undergoing training with the program developers is highly recommended. Their customer service is super helpful! **What problems is SAFARI Montage solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are actually using Safari as a way to keep our kids from stumbling on inappropriate materials online. We have YouTube blocked for all students but wanted teachers to be able to utilize valuable content, so we set up Safari so that teachers can embed YouTube videos and students can view them within the program. We also have Safari linked with Schoology, which is our Learning Management System. Teachers can keep students in Schoology but still incorporate the great things Safari has to offer. ### 7. From there you are overwhelmed with resources with no clear way to sort and filter to narrow results. **What problems is SAFARI Montage solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to find additional support materials. ### 9. One nice feature is to sort them by grade/age. Another thing on why this resource is SO valuable is that it has ALL the older Educational Videos such as Magic School Bus, Bill Nye, all in one place without having to use VHS, or any other source. **What do you dislike about SAFARI Montage?** The only least helpful thing about Safari Montage is that the search must match the exact title, or else you will not find the video. Some of the videos quality is very poor, but that is due to the VHS conversion. There is also not much you can do with the media player itself, (speed) etc. **Recommendations to others considering SAFARI Montage:** Safari Montage is the BEST EDUCATIONAL VIDEO source out there! There is no need to proof view and all the videos are more informative than you think. There are LESSON PLANS attached to the videos to meet the SOL requirements for our county specifically. This allows for teachers to better plan ahead. These videos also are as long as normal TV episodes. **What problems is SAFARI Montage solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have solved the issue of being able to obtain educational videos quickly, without having to look for whether it is appropriate. The other issue that Safari Montage has resolved is that these educational videos are more informative than anything you find elsewhere, all the different tools have all been sourced into one. ### 10. It is a one stop shop for the classics like Bill Nye or the Magic School Bus as well as videos from Wisconsin Public Programming. As a teacher, I can truth that Safari Montage has appropriate content for my grade level. **What do you dislike about SAFARI Montage?** Sometimes it can be difficult to find what you are looking for if you don't type in the correct search terms. It could use some work on the search filters. **What problems is SAFARI Montage solving and how is that benefiting you?** This makes it easy to find and use videos when teaching. Rather than each teaching housing a college of educational videos, we can all access them through SAFARI montage. ### 11.
