The best thing about SP Capital IQ is the excel plugin and using it for public financial statements and modeling. The user interface is not very good. Outdated, hard to navigate and learn how to use. Often got many errors when it came to screeners. Another downfall is the private company information. What I like the most is how comprehensive and timely the industry coverage is. There is almost most of up to data company data as well as any upcoming events/ conference calls and so on. The main benefit was the convenience of getting an overview of all pending regulatory proceedings as well as necessary data to support my arguments in rate cases as well as comments on proposed rulemakings.
