While conducting corporate due diligence research, I often need to find out ownership information to ensure that we can continue doing business with the company. Company financials, ownership, corporate tree, and transaction data are essential to this process. I like the ability to link to SEC filings, annual reports, and other data from the search. I would like to have a set format for the tear sheet and the company profiles again. I am not used to the new platform and having to create my own customized reports! Also I use Capital IQ for stock history and closing prices a lot. And I wish that the closing price data for warrants was available on Capital IQ but I have not found it there. I like to use the corporate tree to understand how subsidiaries relate to the parent company. For example, with Tempest Capital, I found a profile linking Tempest with Plata Tower, which helps us decide if we can conduct business with Plata Tower if there is a conflict etc. Often, with private companies, in particular, these relationships are hard to pinpoint. I used Capital IQ when I was working in the Private Equity sector, mainly to screen for potential investors to our fund. It wqs really helpful since they have a huge database and offer a lot of beneficial information about the company in question.
