Unreliable business **Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Aaron L. | Technical Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2023 **What do you like best about Rydoo?** Rydoo had problems early-on, such as assuming sales tax would be the same throughout the US and not understanding that sales tax and VAT aren't exactly the same. I worked with their product team when they were a small company and, over time, they sorted out the problems. **What do you dislike about Rydoo?** Six years and some change later, I've been keeping all of my small business expense records in Rydoo. It's just me, perhaps a handful of receipts per week. My Rydoo costs doubled from $40 per year to $80 per year from 2016 to 2022. This year, they're increasing the cost to $120 per year and requiring me to pay for five subscriptions (paid in advance), an increase from $80 to $600. I'll be moving my data away from Rydoo - a 15x increase in costs isn't the behavior that I expect from a stable business partner, and I'd caution others to beware. **What problems is Rydoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tracking expenses, reporting expenses. I'm not using Rydoo for expense management, only expense tracking. I track with expenditure categories that match tax categories and run an annual report for my accountant with all the receipts. As mentioned elsewhere, Rydoo is creating more problems than its solving at the moment. Their 15x cost increases over the past six years are driving me to another solution. Slow website, mostly unusable OCR, would not use again **Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Iulian D. | CEO & Co-founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2020 **What do you like best about Rydoo?** Pretty much nothing, except that our accountant recommended it and now we're stuck with it. **What do you dislike about Rydoo?** The OCR and email forwarding option used to work for our common expenses (Google GSuite, Google Cloud, Hetzner bills). I'm pretty sure they worked while they used manual inspection, but at some point they finished their product and switched to their character recognition. A disaster, none of the emails that worked before are recognized anymore. I spend a few days on support with them, and still, the Google bills are never recognized! Never! Google! What could be more obvious? Support was slow and came up with standard excuses "We improve our product continuously", even though it was clear that it *used to work before*. A year later, I am just amazed how little bills it can recognize amongs the ones that worked well when they just started. Now I avoid email forwarding and upload PDFs, but the website takes about 5 seconds for each click/page load, and I can only upload one PDF at a time via drag and drop. Do yourself a favor and don't use this product. **Recommendations to others considering Rydoo:** Don't use it. **What problems is Rydoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** We don't have to send the bills to our accountant anymore, as she can see them directly in Rydoo (if we manage to get them there) ### 3. Used to be promising, getting worse all the time **Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2019 **What do you like best about Rydoo?** Easy to use app for our users, administration in the backend has a lot of options for user management, integration with Exact Online project management, costcentres etc. **What do you dislike about Rydoo?** It turns out to mess up our books. Imports are dead wrong, making us loose quite a large amount of money on VAT as it turned out after a closer look last year. Also for a while now expenses are being imported as sales (yes, that's right ?!?). For the moment we're still using it for the employees and copying / pasting the expenses into our books instead of importing. Support is non-existing. They don't even reply let alone solve issues. As we haven't found the right alternative yet this might be the best work around for a while to come. **Recommendations to others considering Rydoo:** Don't try this. It will cost more money than in saves. **What problems is Rydoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** The benefits we realized in the past using Xpenditure have all been undone by the money we lost on Rydoo and our messed up books. Not to speak of the countless hours of correcting bookings by hand when we found the problems. When it doesn't support are completely uninterested - fail to reply and require constant chasing. These problems include OCR errors in reading and transposing dates, not picking up expense totals even on easy to read receipts, not providing the correct receipt to match to the cc transaction even though it shows as an uploaded expense. These are just a few examples of the issues we have faced, requiring manual adjustments to complete expense reporting. If I have to make manual changes to the expenses it loses the efficiency to use an automated software. Over the last several months I have reported, sent email examples to Rydoo and the response received is sorry, thank you for your patience, your issues have been escalated and we're working on it, but then weeks go by and the problems continue to exist. **Recommendations to others considering Rydoo:** Make sure software is working efficiently before purchase. Read reviews from current customers. **What problems is Rydoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** When the software worked efficiently it provided convenience and saved time and money. However the downfall was it is connected directly to my bookkeeping programme EXACT. Every time I scanned a receipt and uploaded it onto the EXACT package it would open a new account for every receipt. This became a hassle with bookkeeping, we would have new supplier accounts for dozens of various receipts with one time use... **What problems is Rydoo solving and how is that benefiting you?** using this app would save hours of administration work. I think it is worth the money spent.
