Our business needs a system that has ways to factor in changes in a forecasted timeline and the impact of those inputs, and Runway's Plan feature is exactly that. The system is incredibly powerful, easy to use, easy to implement and learn, and they have a very responsive team of real people. That is huge for a business model of a publisher, where timelines are often changed, affecting the predicted financials. Additionally, with the ease of building models, we are able to create reports specific to how different audiences want to see the data (CEO, investors, etc). Having a full set of integrated finacials that update with each timing adjustment has allowed us to forecast with greater accuracy, which in turn improves our cash forecasting and stragic decision making for the business. ### 5. The options are limitless on the dimensions that you can create and link within your various models. Runway provide a lot of resources to learn how to use the software and their customer support team is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in getting your models set up and working properly. You can create charts to summarize data and easily share with other people with a click of a button. They also release regular product updates that improve the application and add new features. **What do you dislike about Runway Financial?** This is my first time using an FP&A tool so there was a steep learning curve getting familiar with the terminology (drivers vs dimensions), and how to properly build out models. We use an accounting system that is specific to our industry and does not have APIs so our process ended up being a little more manual that I had hoped but we were able to find workarounds to reduce the manual work as much as possible. If using QuickBooks or other more common software this wouldn't be an issue. **What problems is Runway Financial solving and how is that benefiting you?** Finding ways to integrate multiple custom variables in our forecasting models that provide flexibility to quickly make adjustments when necessary. Solution: Runway is opening up total visibility in the organization for non-finance stakeholders to see and understand our finance teams' forecasting and budgeting for cash flows, profitability, and financial position. Before Runway, this was managed across four spreadsheets (each duplicated three times for the base, aggressive, and live scenarios). Now, it's all in one version-controlled system. At monthly close, we get up-to-date marketing, sales, and finance data in one place to review and use for decision-making. We can quickly compare plan vs. actual and share this information with the rest of the business to help them make good decisions. The new system has not only significantly reduced the time we spend on board pack prep, but it has also enhanced our ability to make better operational decisions. It provides us with a comprehensive understanding of the impact of our actions. For instance, we were able to assess the impact of 4 key decisions we made over the last few months by creating scenarios for each and comparing the results with our base scenario. It's a very powerful platform, and our point of contact Rishi made sure that our implementation was smooth and easy. They've managed to build a platform that's feature rich and flexible, without feeling bloated, and still being very easy and intuitive to use. We're a small private school, and our financial needs are very unique and atypical. We have coded our billing system in-house, and have built a complex web of API connections to CRM and HR platforms. We auditioned a wide variety of financial platforms and Runway was the only one that met our needs. Runway has significantly decreased the amount of time we need to spend on financial modeling and projections, and has provided huge value to our business. I highly reccomend Runway for any business. **What do you dislike about Runway Financial?** Runway was still a relatively new company while we were onboarding, so we experienced a handful of glitches and hiccups during our implementation. But their team was extremely quick to respond, and on a few occasions even built out new functionality to cater specifically to our needs. I will also note that the platform does have a learning curve, and it took a not-insignificant amount of time to understand it. But again, their documentation and support are excellent, and after spending a week or two with the product, it became extremely intuitive. **What problems is Runway Financial solving and how is that benefiting you?** We're a small non-profit school with a custom-built billing system, and a high level of automation with our CRM and HR. For years, one of our big hardships was financial modeling and projections. We run our business with tight financial margins, so it's extremely important to be able to predict future cash flow, so we can make appropriate staffing and purchasing decisions. Initially, this was a manual process for us, taking up dozens of administrative hours every month. We eventually built our own in-house projection and modelling system, but it was comparatively primitive, still required a lot of upkeep, and didn't let us examine different scenarios or easily change variables to compare future outcomes. Runway was poweful enough to accomodate all of our separate data sources, and migrating our in-house system to Runway was a painless process. After migrating, we were blown away by how easy Runway was to use, while still being incredibly versitale and powerful. It's allowed us to build a projection system that, month after month, has predicted our monthly burn with an extreme degree of accuracy. Often the projection is off by less than 1%. Runway has let us accurately model our future finances, and confidently make important business decisions backed by reliable data. This has been invaluable for our business. ### 23.
