When I run the payroll and don't have to pay a full-time employee because they didn't work the full 80 hours, if I only input 35 hours, the amount doesn't change. This forced me to cancel the payroll, and once it's canceled, it's not clear what to do next. I had to call ADP to get instructions, and they said I should run a payroll at zero to annul the first one, but that information isn't clear or written anywhere. The thing I like the most about this software is that it's easy to use and very intuitive to use. The way the software is laid out, is similar to other web applications with a menu bar in the left to jump to different sections. The software also provides reminders such as if it's a holiday coming up and payroll has to be submitted earlier. I also like that any questions I have I can easily call and get a person. I can call if I have questions about the software and using it, or call if I have a HR question. We use this software for payroll, keeping track of employee records, and workers comp insurance. The software does have integrations with other platforms and software, but we do not use this feature yet. Overall the performance of the software is very reliable. When it does maintenance, it is overnight and outside of business hours. There is a banner at the top of the software that announces any upcoming planned maintenance. The pricing of the software if fair for everything it provides. Having that number to call for HR support has been huge, and allowed our business to not have to hire a dedicated HR person which is a huge return in investment for the business. The software does have AI features, but we do not use these yet. However I feel confident that we will use it in the future as it learns our business and our trends with payroll. The downsides can be the wait times on the phone. 90% of the time I call, I am able to speak with a person within two minutes. However at the end of the year and beginning of the year, the wait times can be up to 45 minutes. Another thing I dislike, is that we constantly get calls to try to upsell us on other services. I really like how easy it is to navigate RUN Powered by ADP through the app and website. Everything is organized in tabs, making it easy to add employees and manage manual checks. It's really organized and easy to use, which helps make payroll super fast, super quick, and super easy. We can get it all done in just a few hours. The transition to using it was very smooth, and it's easy to understand after a few days. I like that everything is organized on the side, and when you click on a symbol, it tells you what it is, like 'report' or 'payroll,' making it really easy to navigate. The payroll register is probably the part of RUN I value most. I use it as a reference point for checking deductions and reconciling payroll totals with our accounting records. Having payroll history available also helps when I need to trace a figure during month-end work. The UI/UX matters to me mainly because I need to find those records and reports without wasting effort navigating around. I wouldn't choose a payroll system based on AI or intelligence features, though. One area I’d like to see become stronger is the support experience when a payroll question falls outside the routine process. RUN handles the standard payroll work well enough for my needs, but an unusual accounting or payroll question can require more clarification than I’d prefer. I’m fairly comfortable investigating numbers myself, so this isn't something that causes major disruption, but I do notice the difference when I need a precise answer rather than general guidance. More direct support for those less common situations would make the product more useful from an accounting perspective. In terms of entering and finding important data, it's extremely organized. I've used a couple other payroll services that are extremely difficult to track down specifics about past paychecks or obtain W2's. Some employee side issues. I have an employee who works at a different site than me and works primarily in a kitchen with fast paced high turnover. He's unable to access his personal account and for some reason I'm required to make a three way call while he's trying to log in to troubleshoot together.
