The only problem with ADP is that it was a really long and confusing process to switch from Gusto to ADP, at least when we made the switch in 2025. ADP has a lot of reps and employees which is great but they would give us conflicting information on next steps. The biggest benefit of RUN Powered by ADP is how much time it saves. Payroll is simple to process, and I don't have to worry about calculating or filing payroll taxes. The cost is more than justified by the amount of time it saves and the confidence of knowing everything is being handled correctly.

One thing I really appreciate is how easy it is to switch between our two companies; it's literally just a dropdown menu. That alone makes managing payroll for multiple businesses much more efficient.

The HR tools have also been a huge plus. The new hire onboarding process is especially convenient when you're hiring in multiple states because ADP keeps all of the required forms up to date. There's no need to track down forms from different state websites or worry that you're using an outdated version. New employees can complete most of their own setup online before their first day, which saves us time, reduces data entry, and helps prevent mistakes.

I've also been impressed with the ADP Assist. The AI-powered Assistant is great for getting quick answers to everyday questions. If I run into something more complicated, I simply ask to speak with a live representative, and I'm connected through chat within minutes. I honestly haven't had to pick up the phone for support. Every question, modification, or issue I've had has been resolved through chat.

The payroll reports are another feature I rely on. They make it easy to reconcile payroll, prepare journal entries, and quickly find the information I need without spending time digging through reports.

Overall, RUN Powered by ADP has made our payroll and HR processes much more streamlined and efficient. There really isn't much I dislike about RUN Powered by ADP. If I had to pick something, it would be how the billing invoices are organized. The Billing & Invoices section doesn't include the monthly processing fee invoices; it only shows the direct deposit, tax, and RUN service fee invoices for each payroll. To find the monthly processing invoices, you have to go to Reports > Billing Invoices, which opens a separate billing and invoice management page. We’ve also seen improvement with RUN’s recent integration with CareerPlug, our recruiting platform. The transition from applicant to candidate to employee is much more seamless now, helping eliminate duplicate entry and improving efficiency across our hiring and onboarding workflows.

Payroll processing itself is straightforward once you’re familiar with the platform, and the reporting tools are helpful for internal tracking and financial review.

From a performance standpoint, the system is reliable and fast. We can process payroll and pull standard or custom reports on demand, without lag, which is important for day-to-day operations and executive-level reporting.

I have my payroll and 401(k) with ADP. As a business owner and parent of two, I appreciate how easy it is to work with RUN Powered by ADP support and with the website interface. I seldom have to contact customer service because the website is so natural and easy to use. When I do, their AI answers a lot of my questions before connecting me with a live agent. When I am connected to a live agent, the wait time is less than five minutes. The webpages and reports load very quickly, so performance is excellent. The entire onboarding process has been turn-key without any hiccups. You can tell the employees respect their position and value the people in the companies they work with. I onboarded at the end of the quarter, a very busy time. I did not feel rushed and was impressed when an upper manager hopped on my implementation meeting to cover for one of her team members. They really do work as a team to make switching easy. I also didn't ask for any kind of financial promotion, but was awarded one because there was a hefty fee from the 401(k) company I was switching from. Another pleasant surprise was they helped me figure out how to communicate the change to my employees and quelled any anxiety around compliance during this change. Overall, they are not the cheapest with respect to pricing, but the VALUE I am getting by not having to coordinate with employees when there are changes, the data entry of thsi transition, the integration they have between payroll and 401(k), and the option to do profit sharing and add a benefit where employees can pay off their student loans from their 401(k) is so worth it. It is frustrating that check date drives everything. This can cause alignment problems with accrual accounting. It should not matter that the check was issued/deposited on January 2nd if the pay period is for December 31st - as in an accrual accounting system. With ADP, if the check date is on January 2nd, you are in the next year's tax quarter for reporting purposes. Check Date and Pay Period should be selectable and ADP should recognize the differences in how a particular business maintains its' Accounting Records - specifically for Accrual based businesses. I like the customer support solutions and the support staff. There are a few things that I like best about RUN Powered by ADP. 1. is how the employees of the company actually care. Everyone that I've spoken with has been so thorough, had phenomenal performance, and given me the best customer service. I've never experienced that at such a large company. 2. Integrations were seamless because of such thorough communication. 3. The interface is actually really easy to use. It used to take me around 5 hours total to process payroll and with ADP, I can enter in all employees hours manually (if I have to) and have it processed within 1 hour. I can easily locate the HR function, generate my own COI for workmans comp, and don't even get me started on onboarding new employees.The whole interface is absolutely gorgeous. 4.
