"Great reporting, but Salesforce limits comparisons—often requires exporting to Excel"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Once set up, you can get really great specific reporting. There is a some flexibility in getting your processes in place to capture all the required information and keep on top of production and inventory. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Because it's built on Saleforce, it's extremely limited by the core architecture. So comparison reports like looking at sales vs work orders isn't possible. You can make a kludge, but realistically you have to export information into excel or another package to process data.

For example we have to export all our sales data to set up sales forecasting that we then import back in to make MRP functional. This is because the MRP system assumes only the past and can't really reflect future projections. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Rootstock Software of Rootstock

Thank you for the review! A single system of record across financials, inventory, and production (GL, stock locations, and cost data in one place, with no more reconciling disconnected spreadsheets) is exactly what Rootstock Cloud ERP is designed to deliver, and it's the same Salesforce platform foundation that makes that unified data model possible.

On cross-domain reporting like sales versus work orders: we hear you, and we'd like to help before you resort to exporting to Excel. While SF reports do have certain limitations, there are likely ways to create the reports you are looking for. Some that come to mind are Joined Reports or Cross Filters, but without knowing the specifics of what you are trying to bring together in a report, it is difficult to offer a solution. Your technical account manager can connect you to resources that can work with you. Your feedback helps us prioritize making these comparisons easier natively, without having to look for an add-on to solve the reporting need.

"Highly Customizable on Salesforce, but Needs Smoother UX and smoother performance"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

I love that we are able to customize so much of the user experience, if something doesn't work the way we need it to we are able to find creative workarounds and gain efficiencies. Being on salesforce there are many integration options that help us find better ways to operate Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

It often feels like a clunky user experience out of the box, and does require a lot of customization to get a nice finished product. We get a lot of complaints about too many clicks for processes and slow load times (though some of this may be attributed to our wifi) and support can be a challenge to navigate when there are misunderstandings about our requests. Having better documentation is a huge pain point for us as well. Often the community articles do not align with actual operations or are missing steps and or clarity on processes. If there was robust documentation that would really help Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Rootstock Software of Rootstock

Hi there,

Thank you for the candid review. You've highlighted the benefit we care most about: with CRM, ERP, and financials on one Salesforce-native platform, you can report and analyze how sales activity flows through to financials without stitching systems together, and the platform's flexibility lets your team tailor the experience and keep finding efficiencies.

We also appreciate the direct feedback on where we need to be better. Streamlining out-of-the-box workflows — including reducing clicks in high-frequency processes — is an active focus of our product and UX investment. On documentation: you're right, and improving the depth, accuracy, and clarity of our documentation and community articles is a priority we're actively working on. If specific articles are inaccurate or missing steps, flagging them through your technical account manager genuinely helps us fix the right ones first. We'd also like to look into the support experience you described, as misunderstandings on requests shouldn't be a recurring pattern, and we'd welcome the chance to review recent cases with you.

Thanks for taking the time to share both what's working and what isn't. This is exactly the kind of valuable feedback that shapes our roadmap.

"Seamless Salesforce Integration with Robust Data and Responsive Support"
4/5
What do you like best about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Integration within Salesforce is a major plus. Being able to track everything from CRM activity through to cash received in one system is a big advantage. I also appreciate the data integrity and the abundance of available data. On top of that, customer success/support has been highly responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Difficult to train on because of the extremely high level of customizability. There are too many editing restrictions; as business needs change, it would be helpful to be able to update existing items instead of having to start over from scratch. Bank reconciliation and credit card reconciliation also need improvement. Pricing is expensive. The inconsistent UI/UX between Lightning and Classic is confusing, and there are too many permissions to keep track of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Rootstock Software of Rootstock

Thank you for the balanced review. Tracking everything from CRM activity through to cash received in one system — with strong data integrity and no more manipulating disconnected spreadsheets in Excel just to get answers — is the core value of Rootstock Cloud ERP, and we're glad it's also cutting the transcription errors that came from manually creating work orders.

We appreciate the specific improvement areas. On training for a highly customizable system, The Learning Center, the Rootstock Success Community, and your technical account manager can help build internal expertise tailored to your configuration. Rootstock aims to deliver an ERP that isn't just functional, but is a delight for our customers to users. We've focused much of our recent development on improving the user experience, and we think you'll love the new Bank Statement Workbench! This new workbench resolves the common customer pain points we heard from customers like you in the previous tools. And if permission management is creating overhead, our support team can review your setup and suggest simplifications.

Thanks for being a Rootstock customer.

"Rootstock ERP Boosted Scheduling Consistency with Outstanding Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Rootstock ERP has helped my company become more consistent and predictable with our production scheduling and overall throughput. It’s a robust system that covers the major functions you’d expect from an ERP. Their support team has also done a great job reaching out and helping us throughout our journey with Rootstock. Given our company’s size and limited resources, their team has been especially helpful when we’ve needed assistance with system performance and with new integrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Given our company’s level of technical expertise, making certain tweaks and adjustments to the system has sometimes been beyond our current abilities and our capacity to learn how to implement the changes we want. The support team has been great about working with us to find solutions that fit our company and meet our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Rootstock Software of Rootstock

Hi there,

Thank you for the kind review. More consistent, predictable production scheduling and throughput is one of the most valuable outcomes an ERP can deliver, and we're glad Rootstock is providing that along with the full range of core ERP functions. We'll pass the recognition along to our support team! Helping companies with limited internal resources succeed, from system performance to new integrations, is exactly what they're there for.

We're also glad the Rootstock community has been a resource through updates, your Rootforms integration, and the more technical aspects of the system. As you continue building internal expertise, The Learning Center and your technical account manager can help make those tweaks and adjustments feel more within reach. If you feel like additional technical expertise is needed, and you don't want to invest in developing in house, some customers also choose to leverage our Managed Services offering. You can reach out to your Account Manager to see if this is the right fit for you

"Streamlined Salesforce Integration, Room for Finance Improvement"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

I like that Rootstock Cloud ERP is fully integrated with Salesforce. This integration eliminates past issues we had with syncing our CRM and ERP databases since it all uses the same database now. I also appreciate that the system setup knowledge applies across both our CRM and ERP operations because it's all on the Salesforce core platform. It's also really helpful that we can create flows and automations using both ERP and CRM data without needing to resort to API calls or other tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Since Rootstock started as an American system, some of the functionality is quite US-focused, especially regarding the financing side of the business where American practices differ from those commonly used in Europe. Rootstock is working on improving these items, but some features like the settlement of GL accounts, which is common in Europe, still don't exist. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Rootstock Software of Rootstock

Hi Mattthijs,

Thank you for such a clear articulation of what makes Rootstock different. You've captured it exactly: because Rootstock Cloud ERP is built natively on the Salesforce platform, your CRM and ERP share one database and your team's platform knowledge, flows, and automations work across both. That unified foundation is what enables an AI-native ERP for product-centric companies, and it's great to hear it's speeding up your order handling and invoicing.

Your feedback on European financial practices is fair and appreciated. Closing gaps in capabilities for our global customers, including areas like GL account settlement, is an ongoing priority. We'd welcome a conversation between your team and our product group to walk through the current roadmap; your technical account manager can arrange it.

Thanks for being a Rootstock customer and for the thoughtful review!

"Rootstock Multi-Company, Multi-Currency Success"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Rootstock was very easy to learn. I did not have much experience with other ERP systems and Rootstock is very logical system. IF you follow the training and successfully enter and clean your data, the system flows and you can access the data from various avenues. Our post-implementation support has been extremely helpful in navigating some of our errors in implementation (from our consultants). Suggestions by the Rootstock team to "turn on" various features that were not done during implementation have made a significant difference in our efficiency and abilty to analyze our data (i.e. Financal Analytics). I use the system everyday and the ability to export information is key for my work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

One of the downsides in reporting is that you cannot access each available object in every report. There is the ability to link reports together, but that is very technical (but also could be due to my lack of understanding). There are alot of upgrades that are being rolled out and it is difficult to keep up with the number of upgrades. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Rootstock Software of Rootstock

Thank you so much for the detailed review! Getting every function live at go-live — financials, inventory, and shipping from a new warehouse, plus integrations and automation like automatic invoicing, automated monthly statements, and Amazon — under a hard deadline is a serious accomplishment, and we're glad Rootstock's logical design made it easy to learn even without prior ERP experience. We'll share the kind words with our post-implementation support team, and we're glad suggestions like enabling Financial Analytics have made a real difference in your efficiency and analysis.

On reporting across objects: some of customers end up pleasantly surprised at how deep Salesforce reports can go! But you're right that linking reports can get technical, and you shouldn't have to figure that out alone. Your technical account manager can arrange a session on cross-object reporting approaches. And to help keep up with the pace of upgrades, interactive Learning Hour live classes, consistent release notes, and detailed documentation are some of the ways that we can help your team absorb changes at a manageable pace. We're always open to feedback on how we can make this process easier for you!

"Highly Customizable Salesforce-Based Platform That Adapts to Any Workflow"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Being based on the Salesforce platform, it allows a great deal of customization using all the methods that salesforce provides, and with very little risk of having changes removed or breaking things when versions are upgraded. A user can tailor the system completely to their preferred workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Certain forms (such as sales order headers) are quite slow to load. A common workaround is to load orders in multiple tabs at once, then return to each and perform the desired operations. Since the extra time in opening a form has a greatest impact when needing to load several records, opening a separate tab for each nicely limits the impact. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Rootstock Software of Rootstock

Thank you for taking the time to write us this review! Reducing your monthly close from 5 days to 2 by automating interfaces and eliminating duplicative data entry is a fantastic, concrete result. It speaks to what you highlighted: because Rootstock is built on the Salesforce platform, you can customize with flows, formula fields, Apex, or tools like Excel and Access, with very little risk of upgrades breaking your changes.

Your note on slow-loading forms such as sales order headers is taken seriously, and our product team has been sitting down with our customer service reps this summer to learn more about how we can create a better experience in this area specifically. The development of new Lightning Components has laid much of the groundwork for more performant experiences, like a ~75% reduction in load times when using the Enhanced Rootstock Grid. In the meantime, our support team can review your org's specific configuration, since load times can often be improved case by case.

Thank you again for the review!

"Rootstock on Salesforce: Seamless Data Linking, Strong Support, and Faster Processes"
4/5
What do you like best about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

One of the nice features about Rootstock is being built ontop of the Salesforce ecosystem. Its nice that out of the box, the Account and Customer Master is linked. This allows us to give our Sales team valuable data without having to manual connect the two.

Along with being built on Salesforce, it is keeping up with newer features like the navigation with Salesforce Lightning. Customizing page layouts and fine tuning the experience for each department with automations has helped with reducing process times increasing the efficiency of our employees.

Rootstock has a really good support system, not only with direct Rootstock employees, but they also have the community which provides documentation and discussions with other Rootstock users from different companies. The commonity also included the idea factory which allows customers to suggest a process or idea to be implemented into Rootstock which could benefit all users. Just recently they have started implementing AI into Rootstock. We have been testing the one on the community which can help find and give snapshots from documentation you are looking for.

The system has handled our workloads/processes well. Rootstock has a lot of objects and it still handles a bunch of data or automations extremely well without any major issues or bogging the system down. It has been well worth the venture of moving out of our previous ERP and into Rootstock. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Rootstock is quite a big platform. Compared to our previous ERP, there are at least maybe 2-3 times more objects than what we are used to. It took a bit of a learning curve for some of our users in some aspects. Now that was also a bit of our own team prefering how it used to be or just comfortable in how it used to be, but it did cause some challenges.

I wish that with the license structure, there was a way to choose the type of salesforce license you wanted with it instead of paying for a Rootstock license which comes with a salesforce platform license. If we wanted a full salesforce license in liou of a platform, it can't be done directly with Rootstock. So we would have to purchase that directly through Salesforce to get the full license and then still have a empty platform license that may or may not ever be used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Rootstock Software of Rootstock

Hi Jonathon,

Thank you for the detailed review. MRP setting company-wide stocking levels and DRP directing that inventory to your external warehouses, ultimately replacing manual report reviews and saving users hours every week, is a great example of what integrated supply and distribution planning should deliver. And you're right that being built on the Salesforce ecosystem means the Account and Customer Master are linked out of the box, giving your sales team valuable data with no manual connecting.

On the learning curve: a full ERP does bring more objects than many teams are used to, and adjusting from a familiar system takes time. The Learning Center and the Rootstock Success Community can help users get comfortable faster, and your technical account manager can suggest role-based training approaches.

Thanks for being a Rootstock customer, and thank you again for this review!

"Powerful, Customizable Manufacturing Hub with Responsive Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Rootstock is an extremely powerful application that turns our Salesforce org into the central hub of our company. From inventory management and production to invoicing and reporting, Rootstock supports the full range of our manufacturing environment. While it’s definitely complex, the User Interface is laid out well and feels thoughtfully organized. It's built to deal with many different kinds of corporate structures and environments, and is highly customizable. We have successfully integrated Rootstock with other systems, including our Warehouse Management System. Customer Support is responsive and reliable, acting more as a partner than a simple support team. Our principal technical advisor has bent over backwards for us on more than one occasion, truly helping us acheive success with the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Its complexity can sometimes feel daunting, but as I mentioned before, the Customer Support team and our Technical Advisor have been there time and again to help us whenever we’ve gotten confused. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Rootstock Software of Rootstock

Thank you for the generous review! Rootstock Cloud ERP as the central hub of your company — inventory management, production, invoicing, employee labor, and reporting in one place, integrated with your Warehouse Management System — is the architecture we designed for, and you've described the payoff well: lower costs than running separate systems, and easier analytics because everything lives together.

We'll make sure your principal technical advisor and the support team hear your kind words. Acting "more as a partner than a simple support team" is the standard we aim for. And your point about complexity is fair; a platform this capable has a learning curve, and we're glad the team has been there each time it felt daunting.

"Highly Configurable Salesforce Platform That Unlocks Fast Data Insights"
4/5
What do you like best about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

Being on the Salesforce platform allows for a significant amount of configurability and customization. Being within a single platform lets us unlock data insights in minutes that would otherwise take days. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rootstock Cloud ERP?

The backend of the system feels poorly thought out and the number of objects adds unnecessary complexity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Rootstock Software of Rootstock

Chris, thank you for taking the time to submit this review! Replacing an on-premise ERP and unifying PLM, CRM, and ERP on a single platform to unlock data insights and capture assembly costing and labor tracking across operations is exactly the kind of thing we love to hear from our customers.

Your feedback on backend complexity is fair. A full ERP data model does span many objects, and it's a bit of an art to leverage complexity to deliver a feature-rich solution while delivering and intuitive end-user experience. We believe we can maintain this balance by staying deeply connected to our users throughout all stages of our development process. If specific areas are creating friction for your team, our support team and the Rootstock Success Community are good resources for understanding how objects relate.
