## Roboflow Reviews
  ### 1. Amazing platform to quickly generate a POC for a computer vision project and then launch

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zachary C. | Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

It has been extremely easy to access various computer vision strategies without having to learn the intricacies of each. For example, I was able to train a keypoint detection model and then run it against a video of vehicles in under a day. Normally there'd be debugging for days trying to find where code has gone wrong, but they have a plug-n-play option with "Workflows" to use established code chunks and keep rolling forward. And then on top of that, they provide a way to access that same workflow via Python and expand on it as needed for your custom use-case.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

The downside is that there are so many ways to apply computer vision, sometimes you stumble on one that they have not formally implemented so then you have to go the manual route. Kind of the case with any complex software platform like this. Although they have also been receptive in taking feedback from individuals for feature requests and so the service is expanding daily. But overall, they seem to have what I need 99% of the time so I always go there first and usually get what I'm looking for.

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are solving two major problems - training specific models for your use-case and then making the features of computer vision more accessible to those not up to speed on all the computer vision packages available out there.

Training a model for a unique set of images can be cumbersome and really time-consuming but Roboflow makes it extremely easy to drop in your images and then train a model on your specific needs.

After that, taking actions with the model detections is also much easier. You can use the blocks in Workflows to count the detections of your strawberries or whatever you were specifically training for. There are even ways to then connect to platforms or send alerts based on the count or other detection criteria.

  ### 2. Easy-to-Find Datasets That Are Simple to Use

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

We used several datasets in our recent paper on out-of-stock detection from a robotic platform [Deep learning based empty shelf detection based on autonomous mobile robot https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1077314226000640].

They were very easy to find and use.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

More persons should upload their data :-)

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed datasets for empty shelves detection, and several images I used in my paper were from here

  ### 3. Easy and Reliable Tool for Preparing Panoramic Radiograph Datasets

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yasemin K. | Dr. Yasemin Kılıç, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

I really liked how easy it was to upload and annotate images. The interface is clean and intuitive, and the data augmentation options are very helpful for improving model performance.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

The only thing I didn’t like is that some advanced features require a paid plan, but the free version is still very useful.

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roboflow helped me easily manage and annotate panoramic radiographs for my deep learning research. It solved the problem of organizing large datasets, labeling fractures accurately, and exporting them into YOLO-compatible formats. The platform also saved a lot of time with its augmentation options and automatic preprocessing tools, which improved my model’s performance and workflow efficiency.

  ### 4. Roboflow, Great Platform, But Needs Advanced Model Flexibility, Variety and Custom Training Options

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomson P. | MLOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

Roboflow offers a comprehensive end-to-end platform for computer vision projects. Its annotation tools are both intuitive and efficient, allowing for quick and organized dataset preparation. The model training workflow is seamless and well-optimized, and we consistently achieve highly accurate results with models trained using Roboflow.

One of the most impressive aspects is Roboflow’s deployment and model utilization features, which provide robust monitoring and performance tracking. These capabilities simplify the integration of models into production workflows and make it easy to monitor their effectiveness in real-world scenarios.

In summary, Roboflow is a dependable, user-friendly, and production-ready platform that greatly streamlines the entire machine learning lifecycle, from data labeling through to deployment. I highly recommend it for teams engaged in computer vision projects.

The customer support is great, had an overall good experience with the team.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

Roboflow is a strong platform overall, but there is room for improvement, particularly in allowing users to train and deploy their own advanced models—such as SAM 2.1 or other cutting-edge architectures—directly within the platform.

While Roboflow already offers features like auto-annotation and smart labeling, giving users the ability to train or fine-tune large foundation models (for example, Segment Anything, Grounding DINO, or similar) on their own datasets would significantly increase the platform’s capabilities. This would enable users to produce high-quality annotations with less manual work, while also retaining full control over how their models are customized and how accurate they are.

It would also be beneficial if Roboflow included a wider selection of pretrained models that could be used immediately for annotation and deployment. This would boost productivity and make it easier for teams to take advantage of GPU acceleration and model versioning, all without needing to turn to outside tools.

Finally, expanding the platform’s support for fine-tuning workflows—beyond what is currently available with Roboflow Train templates—would be a valuable enhancement.

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roboflow addresses one of the most significant challenges in computer vision: managing datasets and model workflows from start to finish. It brings together every step of the process—data annotation, augmentation, training, and deployment—into a single, unified platform.

Previously, I had to juggle multiple disconnected tools and invest a lot of manual effort to manage datasets, label images, and track different model versions. Roboflow removes this complexity by offering centralized dataset management, making it easy to upload, version, and organize data. Its smart annotation tools help speed up labeling and ensure greater consistency. The platform also includes built-in model training options that deliver accurate results with minimal setup required. Deployment and monitoring are seamless, enabling real-time inference, performance tracking, and straightforward integration into production environments. Additionally, Roboflow’s collaboration features make it simple for teams to work together efficiently on the same project.

Personally, Roboflow has saved me a great deal of time. It has streamlined data preparation, sped up model experimentation, and boosted my overall productivity. I can now focus more on improving model performance and exploring new ideas, rather than dealing with infrastructure or manual processes.

In summary, Roboflow transforms what was once a complicated, multi-step workflow into a smooth, automated, and production-ready pipeline for computer vision projects.

  ### 5. Roboflow made it easy for our manufacturing startup to build our first vision model

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenneth C. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

I've done a little bit of computer vision work in the past, but it's not my primary skillset. Even trained a vision model or two. There's so much that goes into building and (importantly) deploying vision models. Roboflow is great in that it takes all the steps involved and puts them into one platform. It's incredibly easy to get started with.

I can easily send images to roboflow and then annotate my dataset. The annotation tool itself is valuable, it's pretty easy/intuitive. I really like how easy it is to divvy work up between colleagues on the labeling side. It's great having a model that you can continuously monitor and improve, without being an ML expert.

Roboflow doesn't expect you to be an expert to get expert level computer vision models trained. You can pretty much start from a very high level understanding of vision models and in a few days have a finely tuned model for your specific use case.

The team is incredibly responsive and helpful when you need help. They also build some popular and useful open source projects (like the supervision project).

We've used roboflow for multiple various projects over the years and it's become our go to starting point for any vision based project we do.

We were able to build a computer vision model that is assisting us in getting much higher utilization of our raw metal on our laser cutting machine with just a few days of engineering effort.

I've happily recommended roboflow to other engineers and startup founders in the past and will keep doing so.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

Auto label feature looks promising but I could only use it for bounding box. I'd like to use an auto labeler for instance segmentation.

Tiny quality of life thing for labeling: would be nice to have a keyboard shortcut on the left hand side of the keyboard for completing an annotation. Right now you have to press Enter, so you either have to let go of your mouse, or move your left hand over to the right side of the keyboard.

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roboflow helps us build vision models incredibly quickly, without having to have an ML expert on staff.

  ### 6. Roboflow Scales Vision AI Across Plants with Fast Deployment and Low-Cost Flexible Hardware

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave R. | Automation Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

Roboflow is the clear choice for computer vision at scale. After trying Cognex, Keyence, and other point tools we moved to Roboflow because it lets us roll out every vision application across multiple plants from one cloud dashboard and push to edge devices in minutes. The platform works with inexpensive off the shelf cameras and consumer GPUs, cutting hardware spend by more than half. New features drop weekly and every new model such as YOLO or SAM appears on launch day so we can benchmark the upgrade on the same dataset with a few clicks. Unified annotation, training, version control, and inference keep our workflow tight and fast. Support is outstanding; Roboflow engineers jump on calls, share code, and really listen. High trust, rapid ROI, and a product roadmap that keeps delivering make Roboflow the best engine for quality inspection, safety, and predictive maintenance in modern manufacturing.

It's very easy to deploy with multiple deployment options whether it's in the cloud for a pilot, a Nvidia Jetson for an individual line or server based for a full factory solution. Their device monitoring is great for tracking an entire plant and receiving alerts for defect trends or downtime. I like that you can use the GUI workflows or fully deploy with Python all using the same models. I have moved to always recommending Roboflow for their full end to end integrated solution.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

I don't love subscriptions, but I guess this is just the world we live in today. They do offer flexibility in their pricing to shift the cost to CapEx

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roboflow is solving the complexity of building, scaling, and maintaining computer vision systems across multiple use cases and locations. Before Roboflow, we relied on rigid tools like Cognex and Keyence that were expensive, limited in model flexibility, and hard to scale. Roboflow makes it easy to centralize model training, versioning, and deployment through a cloud-first platform that works seamlessly with low-cost edge devices. It also solves the challenge of experimentation—letting us try new models instantly on the same dataset. That means faster iteration, better accuracy, and less time wasted. We're able to deploy vision systems to new lines or facilities in days instead of months, with full visibility and monitoring. The result is better quality control, reduced scrap, and faster time to ROI.

  ### 8. Best Annotation Tool for Beginners—User-Friendly and Efficient

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Birat G. | Ph.D. Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

The interface is user-friendly and requires little to no experience for beginners. Multiple tutorials are available online in case anyone needs it.
The auto-annotating feature was most helpful in generating my dataset and saved me a lot of time.
I also used the software as a backend editor for misclassified instance segmentation images. Importing, editing, and exporting were all very smooth. Best annotation tool out there.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

For most object instances with a gap or hole inside, the auto-annotator was not able to separate just the instance from the background. It was a little tedious in some cases.

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I only use Roboflow for any annotation task for my images. It is almost essential to generate datasets for me.

Beyond the platform itself, the Roboflow community adds tremendous value through its webinars, blogs, and collaborative resources. The staff has also been consistently professional, knowledgeable, and easy to engage with (big shout out to Salo!), further reinforcing the partnership you have with the company.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

The only drawback I’ve encountered is the cost associated with self-hosted inference, which makes scaling deployments more expensive than anticipated. While the platform’s capabilities are strong, this cost factor can become a limiting consideration for larger-scale operations.

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roboflow helps us detect manufacturing defects, measure raw materials to automate processes, and identify process or machine failures. This has improved quality, reduced manual inspection, and increased efficiency across our operations.

All the preparation steps before model training help me by doing manually rather than coding the pre steps like preprocessing and data augmentation

  ### 14. Incredibly Fast and Efficient for Annotation and Model Training

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joao K. | Analista Clínico Pleno - Gestão da Qualidade, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

As a researcher, the best feature of Roboflow is its data annotation interface. For our academic paper on leukocyte classification, we heavily relied on it to build our dataset.

The platform made the entire annotation process incredibly fast and efficient. What could have been a very tedious task was streamlined. The collaboration features were also a major advantage, allowing us to easily manage contributions from different team members and maintain consistency in our labels.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

Honestly, for our specific use case (dataset annotation and management for a research project), the platform performed perfectly. We did not encounter any significant downsides that hindered our workflow.

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roboflow solves two of the biggest problems in computer vision research: data annotation bottlenecks and a fragmented development workflow.

  ### 15. Automate the most tedious parts of computer vision: annotation and export handled for you.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

The end-to-end Roboflow ecosystem is truly something magical.
The way the main annotation engine learns from your labeling efforts and begins recommending annotations is incredibly powerful. These annotations can then be exported via the Roboflow API in all the standard bounding box formats, compatible with a variety of popular models.

What really stands out is how intuitive the platform is , making annotation, export, and even testing on standardized models incredibly easy. The Supervision and Inference libraries, as extensions of the core Roboflow tools, provide a complete, end-to-end solution for building custom computer vision applications.

The Roboflow community is also extremely supportive. From in-depth YouTube tutorials by Piotr to active discussions, you’re never without help or inspiration. On top of that, Roboflow continues to push boundaries with innovations like RF-DETR, showing their commitment to staying ahead of the curve.

Overall, the Roboflow ecosystem and the vibrant community behind it make it a fantastic platform for anyone serious about computer vision

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

The only real issue I’ve run into is with exporting large datasets. When the dataset is big, you can sometimes get stuck on the export screen with a “Spinning up the servers, Feeding the Squirrels ” message. That’s the one part of the experience that genuinely bugs me. Otherwise, Roboflow is light-years ahead of similar tools like CVAT or Labelbox.

As an engineer, I understand how hard it is to maintain data consistency across a distributed system , it's no small feat. But even something like a message saying “We’re processing your data , please check back in a few minutes” would go a long way. I don’t mind waiting 5 or 10 minutes, but just staring at a loading screen during that time feels a bit frustrating.

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was a student not long ago. I used to work on computer vision projects, participate in hackathons, do research—you name it, I’ve probably done it. Data collection can be tedious, but Roboflow Universe helps solve that by giving you something to start with.

Sometimes, the features you need are unique to your specific use case, so labeling becomes essential. I found it incredibly convenient to export labeled data and build something unique using features from the Supervision library, such as region definition, which was extremely helpful.

If you're talking about end-to-end computer vision work from data collection to running a trained model with additional code for custom checks Roboflow supports you at every step of the way.

  ### 16. Fast way to train and deploy computer vision

  ### 18. An incredible tool for the whole machine learning process

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

The ease of use is certainly the best thing about Roboflow. I've already used a lot of other annotation tools, and Roboflow is by far the best one, considering usability and implementation. By analogy, it's like "plug and play", the upload process is easy and fast; the annotations can be done in a very consistent way (dividing the task between the team); the integration with other tools is also very fluid, offering a wide range of export formats, besides the very functional API. My team and I have used Roboflow for annotating biological images, which has contributed to the development of new solutions in this field and even proposed new methods, as evidenced by our publication of two papers using this material. During that time, we used the annotation tool every day for about three months, annotating more than 1000 images, and we found no trouble in doing so. The experience was very different compared with the usage of Label Studio, an open source annotation tool - though the interface is beautiful, there are a lot of minor bugs that take us a long time to fix in order to actually start doing the work. I haven't used the consumer support yet, but I guess it's good.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

The main problem I see in Roboflow is that it's impossible to keep my dataset private in the free plan. I know it's important for you to reduce the functionalities in this plan, but, in my opinion, at least one dataset should be possible to keep private (or maybe offering a subscription only with this feature).

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roboflow, for me, is solving the problem of annotating a huge amount of data in the cloud, being possible to assign tasks very easily among the team. Besides that, it offers consistency in the annotation process (as it is easy for the manager to inspect other jobs) and also security, given that the data is kept stored in Roboflow's data centers and not on our local machines.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

I would only wish that they offer a Chat service to connect to a live agent, instead of posting to the discussion forums. Although they monitor the posts frequently, in the very rare case of any critical production issues it is always nice to get a quick confirmation that is being looked into.

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a Barcode, QR Code, and Postal Code model to handle the variances in the Mortgage Industry and documents that unique. With only 1200 samples, this handles the recognition with almost 99% accuracy which is phenomenal for our needs.

  ### 21. Great Annotation Tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

Roboflow makes the annotation process way less painful than it could be. The interface is clean (when it finally loads), and the keyboard shortcuts actually make you feel like you're getting something done instead of just endlessly clicking boxes like a CAPTCHA addict. The workflow from annotation to model training is streamlined and integrated in a way that makes you forget how clunky this whole field usually is.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

The site can be painfully slow to load, especially at the start. It drags just enough to break your focus, making quick annotation sessions feel like a test of patience. But usually, once I get past the login page, things don’t take as long and the workflow smooths out.

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The UI for annotating is actually nice to use, which is rare. It also makes collaboration easy—especially with people who don’t code or run models locally. Everyone can just hop in and get to work without needing a tutorial or a command line translator.

  ### 22. Best platform for data labeling.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Armando Enrico M. | PhD student | Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

It is really easy to use, it barly requieres prior knowledge of the platform since it is pretty intuitive. Seamlessly intregration with python wich I love since all my ML projects run in jupyter notebooks. Also the free version is enough for students and beginers and the research extra credits are just perfect for research projects.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

When you need additional features prices are really expensive, no way someone would pay for them it should be the organization or lab, however as I mention, most users will find free or reseach resources just enough.

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A platform to label a large amount of data, also to store and share such datasets.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ray S. | Technical Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

Roboflow has been central to our project building a roofing defect detection model. It makes dataset management and annotation efficient, and the workflows feature has allowed us to automate preprocessing, tagging, and uploading of images. The model evaluation tools have also been invaluable for comparing smaller, more targeted models against a monolithic one.

Overall, Roboflow has been a fantastic tool for us and has significantly accelerated our progress. It’s allowed us to go from raw images to usable, production-ready models far quicker than if we had built our own pipeline. The platform feels approachable for non-technical users while still offering the depth and flexibility we need for a large, complex dataset. We have receieved thoughtful and impressive technical assistance from the technical support team too - shout out to Balthasar and Nathan in particular.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

The main challenge is automation after human review - exporting datasets and moving them downstream into our own applications still requires manual steps. More seamless integration here would save a lot of time.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

I really like Roboflow because it makes it super easy for our team to collaborate on annotations, has a smooth review process to catch any mistakes, and gives us tons of flexible export options for different frameworks.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

One thing I don't love about Roboflow is that it can be pretty hardware resource heavy - I've had it freeze up on me during longer annotation sessions, though a quick page refresh usually gets things running smoothly again.

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Roboflow is solving the huge pain point of getting quality training data for our computer vision models, especially for manufacturing applications. It's helping us efficiently annotate our manufacturing datasets with the team, catch annotation errors through their review workflow, and then export everything in the right format for our models - which used to be a total headache to coordinate manually.

  ### 29. Outperforms the competition

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Roboflow?**

Roboflow is continually on the cutting edge of all things computer vision and AI. They are lighting quick to release new models and features that make training computer vision models easy. We are able to train a POC model and test in production within 24-48 hours in most cases. This enables quick turnaround for our company in deciding which project to put effort into. Label Assist is a huge help for our annotation efforts and allows our lean team to annotate large batches of images quickly. The large selection of models gives us the flexibility to lean into a faster model if the application needs require it. SOTA model selection including newly released RF-DETR gives us the confidence that we are working with the right company. We have the confidence to tackle and solve unique and challenging problems with the help of the roboflow team.

**What do you dislike about Roboflow?**

It used to be that lack of hyper-parameter model tuning was a concern. If you are one who likes to meticulously tune models, this is something you won't have the ability to do. However, I found this to be a non-issue since the model selection and performance abstract away the need to tune every parameter of a model.

**What problems is Roboflow solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They offer a easy to use and efficient annotation platform, inference server, and all around CV training platform.

  ### 30. Glad to be working with the leader in the computer vision space
