Its framework and producer consumer model is easy to understand, you can implement simple user developed bots with given instructions. They also have provided courses to get a head start. They have a custom slack chanel to help and support which I really liked. **What do you dislike about Robocorp?** The downsides about robocorp is it entirely depends on python coding if you want to develop automation for big/complex processes and provided course and training is useful only for small bots and using as self developed bots. less pieces to pick up and drop in place. **What problems is Robocorp solving and how is that benefiting you?** we can automate business or technicl processes which are rule based and repetitive using robocorp. The development tools are very comfortable to work with. Their vscode extensions for autocomplete and interactive console are well made, making the experience easy. The control room (bot orchestrator) is in my opinion the most interesting part of their product. I did not try the visual editor so far, but it looks good. I do prefer writing code. Possibility to host the bots on our own machine, while being plugged in to their control room is also a must have feature and they support it! **What do you dislike about Robocorp?** It is a bit of an adjustment to use RPA Framework and its more verbose coding approach. Sometimes it seems a bit too verbose, and actual code would be clearer, in my opinion. It might be a developer bias, though. The possibility of using a Producer-Consumer pattern on their orchestrator is a very nice feature, but I'm a bit concerned about data privacy and compliance for clients that need their data to stay local. I'll have dig a bit more into the self-hosted bots and storage of work-items. **What problems is Robocorp solving and how is that benefiting you?** Automating repetitive tasks, connecting to third party APIs, web scraping, anything you can do in python! ### 5. Robocorp offers an approach to RPA closer to traditional software development and forgets about all the citizen developer hype. Also, even being a seasoned IT professional, and after passing Level 2 certification, I still find a little confusing how RPA framework, Robot Framework and Robocorp interconnect. **What problems is Robocorp solving and how is that benefiting you?** At the moment, I'm just exploring the framework, but thinking it could be an excellent fit for one-time internal projects. It's basically a Python dialect, but I've ended up writing many of my automations directly in Python. **What problems is Robocorp solving and how is that benefiting you?** We've been able to automate a few redundant tasks for our clients, mostly through the RPA.Browser web scraping functions. As for defining the right selector, I agree it can be hard work. There are a couple tricks of the trade though. If you are coding against Windows applications and programs you can check out the link below for step-by-step guide on how to use Accessibility Insights to find elements. If you are talking about finding web page elements, from VSCode click on the Robocorp Code extension (Mark the Monkey face in the sidebar) you will find a "Locators" section that will help you find the Xpath, CSS, Name, or other items you can use in your code. The additional beauty in our solution is RCC packages everything you need to run your automations. The upside to that is you do not have to worry if the target system has the right version of Python, browser, etc because it is all packaged up with the Robot. The downside is it does take a while to download everything initially or if you upgrade your bot, a small price to pay for consistency in your automations I think.
