Riverside has some great features and the fact that you can record with someone remotely and receive full quality raw files is awesome! Also I love that they are constantly improving and adding new features as well. The software is really easy to use and it has a lot of versatility for different types of production (video recordings, podcasts, live streams, etc.). I am currently using Riverside much more often that I expected and plan on testing out more feature soon! It has been really easy to implement into my current workflow. The software layout is a bit confusing and it almost seems like in an attempt to make it as user friendly as possible it has become more of a burden to find certain things (there's also multiple ways to do each thing which can be confusing.) I was also struggling to find information on certain features, for example I (as the producer) was hoping to run the teleprompter for my host but after an hour of tinkering I was not able to figure it out. As someone who started this podcast with unreliable internet in a rural community, it was invaluable that Riverside records the files locally and uploads them later. So the thing that has bugged me about it, and I think this is mostly fixed now, but the edit function, and especially when I tried to download an edit from the web, it would crash my browser. Initially, I only used Riverside for the interview segments of the podcast, but I've started using it for every part of it, intros, transitions, ect. It is really easy to capture videos and share them with editors. What I love most is that it has become a full ecosystem for creators. I can record, edit, and now host my podcast Her Brave Story in one place. That said, the team provides helpful resources and workshops, and support has always been responsive when questions come up. Riverside solves one of the biggest challenges in podcasting: producing high-quality remote interviews without complicated technical setups. As the host of Her Brave Story Podcast, it allows me to record conversations with guests from different locations while maintaining excellent audio and video quality. Having recording, editing, transcription, and hosting all in one place has also simplified my production workflow and saved a significant amount of time. This has helped me focus more on storytelling and meaningful conversations with my guests rather than spending hours managing multiple tools or worrying about technical issues.
