"Rhino - the best CAID and CAS software"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Rhinoceros?

It is very lightweight. You can run it on a Mac or PC with low specs. It is fast compared to other software. It is one of the best tools for surfacing forms and creating parametric patterns. It is very versatile - you can use it for industrial design, transportation design, architecture, etc. It can import and export to different formats like STEP and OBJ, which is very helpful. It is not expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rhinoceros?

It doesn't have a structural functionality. It is more of a shaping tool (surfacing, shaping, forming) rather than a building tool(assemblies, stacking forms, adding, subtracting, shaping, surfacing, forming). Cannot be used for creating assemblies. It is not readily parametric but you can add grasshopper to your workflow and make it parametric. It is not easy to use . Users must learn it via courses and master it via practice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing program for all types of 2D and 3D modeling"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Rhinoceros?

One of the most robust computer programs for 2D and 3D design. Infinite posibilities with the number of features included. Easy to use once tutorials are completed, and maximum compatibility with other file types. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rhinoceros?

Lots of features can create a high barrier of entry to the progeam, but there are many basic features that do not require extensive knowledge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great tool for Designers"
5/5
What do you like best about Rhinoceros?

It is a very flexible tool, with an easy interface to undertand and navigate. I use it at my work for initial ideation of new products and have used it since I was in school. Works great with KeyShot for rendering. I also se Rhinoceros to create 3d print models for hobbies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rhinoceros?

I don't like that when I have newer files I cant open them in my previos versions unless I convert them. But other than that the tools is very versatil. Sometimes I have to work in different projects at the same time and my computer crash, but it is nice that the software saves the progress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Incredibly user friendly 3D modeling program"
5/5
What do you like best about Rhinoceros?

I love the ability to do NURBS based design in a program that is straightforward and easy. The program is great for modeling 3D and 2D designs and is easy to teach/learn. The subD menu has also allowed for flexibility in sculptural modeling. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rhinoceros?

There are occasionally user based glitches that take some time to troubleshoot if you don't know the program well, but the integrated commands like "what" and "learn" give ample opportunity to check mistakes, fix errors, or see different ways of resolving the issue. "Rhino 3D"
5/5
What do you like best about Rhinoceros?

Rhinoceros 3D is an intuitive program. The interface is fairly straightforward to navigate and use with lots of helpful tutorials and incredible customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rhinoceros?

The tolerances round down to the nearest thousandth which occasionally inhibits design precision, especially for those needing extreme exactness for machining dimensions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Advanced and easy to use 3D workflow for architects and industrial designers"
5/5
What do you like best about Rhinoceros?

Rhino3D has a complete and powerful set of tools for organic and geometric 3D modeling, with a rich ecosystem of plugins available, with an easy-to-learn curve for users who came from other 3D software (like SketchUp and AutoCAD), or with no previous knowledge. The licensing scheme is also a big advantage because it is not based on subscription. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rhinoceros?

The viewport can be slow with some plugins and scenes full of high poly models, requiring a workstation-class GPU. Also, the Cycles render engine can't be updated independently in Rhino 6, neither the AMD ProRender, which is a problem for users who didn't upgrade yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Must use software for architects"
5/5
What do you like best about Rhinoceros?

The flexibility of project type and ease of modeling. You can use Rhino for all sorts of projects, not just architectural/engineering. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rhinoceros?

The interface looks outdated, and could use a more contemporary design and collaboration setting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"rhino is my go to software for product design as I'm a product / interior designer."
4/5
What do you like best about Rhinoceros?

the best part is the software compatible with others such as key shot, ai, and others that help to get my work done at the right time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rhinoceros?

the thing I disliked about the software is when it gets hung when you change the solid view to render, idk it happens w me, or with everyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"3D modeler for every use and everyone"
5/5
What do you like best about Rhinoceros?

Before using it for my actual job I didn't have any school lesson and started just by my own, reading ebooks and watching tutorials online.

What I liked most was the ease of learning and the versatility of its application.

Being able to download many plugins enriches even more the software functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rhinoceros?

Rhino still doesn't have a good native rendering engine (hopefully we can rely on the pluging).

The user interface could be better designed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It's pretty great for 3D modeling but plugins often aren't easy work with..."
4/5
What do you like best about Rhinoceros?

-Rhino is generally a great piece of software for modeling

-While typing commands into the UI takes some getting used to, it works well once you're on a roll

-It's a top software for 3D modeling however studios seem to often opt for Google Sketchup, Revit, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rhinoceros?

-Really wish rendering capabilities were more robust out of the box since users have to forage elsewhere for rendering software like Enscape, Lumion etc

-Tends to crash and get super bogged down with larger projects so would love built-in guidance on how to avoid things like this

-This sounds minor but zooming in and out can be a HUGE headache (ie comparing Rhino's zoom with something like the Enscape plug-in, there's a limit to how much you can zoom into something from any given point, whereas if you're using Enscape, you can zoom/move in and out anywhere as much as you want) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
