Their employees know nothing about what's going on. You're transferred to seventeen different people and no one has any idea what's going on. Their database doesn't work efficiently. Revel system is easy to use and has all the features needed to run and grow your business. The area that I have been most impressed with is their customer service. When I have a question or something that needs addressed, they are a phone call away and ready to help. My calls are answered quickly by a live person that is quickly able to understand my needs and then walk me through resolution steps. There are some reports that I would like to be able to tweak a little bit, but it isn't a big concern. The system was very easy to integrate into our POS system. In the main dashboard we see all open invoices and the corresponding payments. The stand holding the ipads is not designed well. The ipad is stuck to a large holder which slides in the stand. The cashier and customer interfaces are basically one unit, making it very difficult to use a shield to separate the customers and employees. During the pandemic, I have to install a screen shield to protect our employees from interaction with the customers. The current stand makes it very difficult. I have to slide out the ipad, but because of the Ipad has a big Revel holder stuck on it, it is very difficult to find another holder/case to hold the customer facing ipads. The service is disjointed; originally we were steered towards third party gift cards, when Revel has their own and it would have made it easier. I wish there was an account manager to make it easy to integrate all the services we could want, rather than have to figure it out ourselves. There are certainly hiccups in the system, having two iPads should be seamless, though it seems to cause a few integration problems. And the cost is quite high. Purchase Orders:
-When receiving an order it would be nice to sort the items. for our retail business, we do not receive all the products at once and it is time-consuming to go through large PO's.

-It seems there is only one sales rep in Canada. I have issues trying to contact the rep, order equipment and have questions answered.

Revel customer service is extremely slow, as explained by someone else, you get to exchange emails with about 10 different people and no one knows what they are talking about. The average answer time from them is at least 5 days.
I have a deli in London, and I have been sold Revel as a great POS that would easily work with Quickbooks, which I am using. They provided me with their integrated scale, which was unable to weigh goods that were below 100g. Also, ti was rounding up so a cheese that would weigh 123g would come up as 125g, which is illegal. That scale was clearly not designed for retail businesses
I notified them and asked for a full refund (including the £2300 set up fee) , which they refused, whereas it is their fault if their scales are not fit for a business like mine.

Revel is a pretty vast system with a lot of options. From house accounts, web orders, gift cards, coupons, CRM, scheduling. It will do most anything you could want from a POS Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

my biggest dislike is all the updates that happen all the time. if one of your ipads updates because of an employee error you are without that ipad until the end of service so you can update the entire system. also, i don't like that i can't modify a modifier. i.e. ring in a burger, add fries, need cheese on the fries Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The integrated payments and integrated scale. By having these options it gives us a lot of freedom with being able to train our staff and not worry about data entry errors. By them not having to enter in a number into the keypad it is helping us ensure that the customer is getting charged the correct amount and also is ensuring that the business is getting the correct amount of money for customers payments. Same with the integrated scale. By having the scale connected to the Ipad and selected the right item is allowing for us to track our items sold by weight more accurate with the dollar value and not having to relay numbers with data entry errors. Wish Revel had API - this would allow us to pull the data and utilize it more efficiently. When working in the back of house in one location, it will sometimes switch over to all locations? I think the Schedule and Time worked tabs look the same and they need to change the feature so the tabs can be identified more easily. When using the schedule and you email it out to the employees and they decline a day or the schedule it supposed to email that information to you however, no one is sure where that email goes. Required to use an iPad for creating orders. It would be nice to create orders in a desktop browser, or maybe on a phone. Having to use the tablet for the punch clock is also a bit inconvenient, it would be nice if all employees could punch in themselves on a desktop (our staff room has a desktop for receiving merchandise and printing tags). The way Revel is setup, it makes it very easy to navigate to do almost anything with just a few touches. Adding customers into the POS system is very easy and very quick, which customers appreciate, I love the fact that you can easily manipulate the front POS screen (what the customer sees prior to and during checkout) great for changing daily or leaving permanently . when the system updates, it always messed up the way we hold credit cards/tabs open. we always have to call Revel AND our CC company to get it fixed back to normal (where we ONLY have to swipe a card to hold the tab...when it updates, we have to insert chip, then swipe...MAJOR pain in the butt).

The interface is easy to use and navigate and easy to train new employees. The most important piece of Revel is the backend reporting and integration with quickbooks, having this makes accounting and payroll very seamless and much less time consuming than having to do it manually. The sleek look of the system as a whole fits into our design concept and gives us a clean look. Set up is a bit time consuming and working through the first part with no experience can be frustrating. Some of the reporting can be difficult to navigate through.
