It handles all the transporting across 6 different SAP system types, with approval checkpoints where needed, and implicit and/or mandatory documentation and test scripts. This removes a lot of red tape we had in our processes, and the documentation/approval side of things helps with our regular auditing. Simple to set up, and highly configurable to suit your needs. We also recently expanded its functions to allow for parallel project landscapes, allowing for changes outside the BAU landscape with re-integration into Production via milestone releases. The highly-configurable nature means that some things are complicated to set up, such as the parallel landscapes, but the company and helpdesk are very knowledgable and efficient, so it doesn't cause too much of a headache. Removed a lot of manual handling of transports, provided implicit approvals to remove some red tape and process bottlenecks, and provides more robust understanding of code conflicts. Customers will be able to define the approval path, approvers, email notification content etc. Best part is, we can even utilize this for replicating the changes from one system to another system automatically when you have a parallel landscape. I work as SAP Basis consultant and worked across various accounts. The latest account where I am currently working on had the Revtrac functionality and was introduced this way. Working with Revtrac had been a breeze and has a simplicity in configuration. Moving away from Revtrac will be a difficult path now. Upsides of using RevTrac: - Setup and control over your SAP Transport Landscape. - Controlled with automatic or batch runs of transports, and with approvals and notification. - The OOPs functionality is fantastic in regards to checking the sequencing of objects and making sure older transport objects and changes are not overwriting newer versions. - Can have multiple Transport Landscapes, for example, BAU and Project. We have daily and monthly Deployment Releases into Prod, and our SAP landscape is very complex with BAU, Release, and Patching Transport paths across ISU, CRM, and ERP.
