What do you like best?

Having served as a CFO for multi-unit restaurant companies for 40 years, I have finally met a product that does everything I need. Inventory contol, menu costing, inventory management, full financials, saving scanned copies, productivity, scheduling assistance, Excel output interface......and more things. Also, their help desk is amazing! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Nothing comes to mind. When I first started, I was only Intacct previously. They were good, but R365 is great. I need to learn special reporting better, but that is on me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

We have been using Restaurant365 for less than 6 months, but we are excited that this software was able to replace 3 other platforms (Accounting Software, Bill Payment Solution, and our Back Office Management). The integration process was more successful with this software than with others in the past because the R365 Team is staffed with individuals that have restaurant experience and understand our basic operations and needs. We love that the software is catered to our industry and has streamlined several of our processes. Their support center and learning academy are great tools that can assist with questions on the fly, or a ticket can be submitted for review. Most of our tickets have been resolved in less than 24 hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The overall views of data can be redundant or basic so it's sometimes hard to tell what screen you are looking at, but with time, users become familiar. As we get more familiar with the system we may be able to build Dashboards that are more helpful to the users that are not as acclimated with the system. We wish there was a more detailed Audit Trail for certain transactions so we can track edits and coach our team when mistakes are made. We can only currently see the last person that modified. which isn't always helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you have one concept with one POS integrating, it will be less stressful than trying to integrate multiple concepts/brands with multiple POS systems. If you operate with multiple POS's try to switch to one uniform solution if possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With the drill-down features on all reports, we have been able to review Profit & Loss statements in a very quick manner. If a GL is incorrect, we can quickly edit and return to the P&L review in just a few clicks. This has been a huge time saver for our Accounting Department. Our operators have also benefited from the budget and scheduling features along with creating checklists in the manager log to eliminate the need for physical checklists and streamline communication. What do you like best?

I can keep multiple sets of books in one easy to use location and run reports individually or across entities with a few clicks.

The cloud based system allows me to log in from anywhere making my job easier.

The support team is top notch and responds quickly. They communicate well so you aren't left to wonder if they've forgotten about you. Most resolutions have occurred for me in as little as ten minutes but no more than a few hours.

The software itself is user friendly and easily learned. They have excellent training modules that are easy to follow.

User set up is easy and allows you to build roles in pieces so each user only has access to the things they actually need.

The on-boarding process was very smooth. The team was quick to answer questions and actually did most of the mapping for me. Consolidating 21 sets of books into one system could have been a nightmare but they stepped up to the challenge and got me through it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

They do have a reporting functionality that allows for building custom reports however it is an additional module that requires an additional fee. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you have more than one location then R365 is the way to go. No switching between books, consolidated reporting is available and easy to use, and vendor integration makes pulling in invoices a breeze. All these things make R365 worth every penny. You will save in man hours much more than you spend on the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We went from a two person accounting team down to a single person for 19 locations across two franchises because the software cut out a lot of the redundancy of other programs by performing due to/from calculations automatically and making the banking integration extremely simple. Reconciling is a breeze.

The AP process is also simplified and many vendors can be integrated for automatic upload of invoices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I love how you have so many ways to search for accounting transactions and the ability to filter and export into the file format that you need. I also love the visibility of everything. We have several legal entities setup and you can view all of them or filter on what you need. We had Great Plains before and paid duplicate invoices because each legal entity had their own set of COA, Vendors, and Customers. You weren't able to catch mistakes as easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The ability to customize reports, such as picking a custom date range. We work with several Franchises that have a different accounting period then us or require weekly sales reporting and the week start date is different. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our Company transitioned over to Restaurant 365 in July 2018. That was the best business decision because our staff can continue to do their job virtually anywhere and keep the business running. It has been really noticeable during the shelter at home. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

We've used Restaurant365 for over two years now... The biggest impact so far is we have been able to see a marked improvement in the management of our COGS saving us real money. As our main management system for 7 restaurants it has created an organization that was not there before for invoice management, accounts payable, and very importantly a way to analyze data in one space. As far as the accounting side, pulling financials is instant, tracking banking activity is typically only a few minutes of work instead of hours. We know that we aren't even using Restaurant365 to it's full capacity, it's something that is in our ongoing plan to continue to add features that are there for the use. If nothing else, in this season of financial upheaval and uncertainty we were able to see our trends in black and white, make adjustments to the way we are doing business to adjust to these times and most definitely when it came to applying for grants and federal relief, we had all the numbers at our finger tips. To have these benefits going forward will eventually propel us to opening more stores in the future... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

My only real concern about Restaurant365 is just a heads up... the learning curve is real and a process. My suggestion is to make sure you have an excellent implementer from the start meaning you really feel like you work well together, if you don't, ask for someone else! Also try to have as many of your ducks in a row as possible from the start. Do the homework, play in the sandbox a lot, and get comfortable with how it operates before you go live. Our menu is quite detailed, we spent a lot of time after going live - way more than we expected to - getting recipes correct, inventories done correctly - and also working with beginning balances, general ledgers, payroll entries. Some of this was certainly due to what we had to start with, which was very little and/or a giant mess, but it also felt like we were in the wild west for some time. It's been worth it, truly, but just know it isn't an instant process - take the time to get off on the right foot! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

My recommendation is to get everything together and be well organized in order to implement for a smoother transition. Make sure you work well with the implementer you are given by Restaurant365 and if you don't see it working, don't hesitate to ask to work with someone else! Utilize the sandbox situation prior to going live so that you are comfortable in the UI and able to hit the ground running. Their support is AMAZING - ask the questions and get clarification when needed. Do all of the tutorials if you can to get a base understanding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Restaurant365 has solved many things... To highlight a few: over/under inventory issues, cogs price gouging and management, time savings on accounting. The benefits we have realized are true dollars saved. No joke. We can see immediately when a vendor is gouging us on prices and do something about it... we have used all of our cogs numbers to show a vendor - "Hey - we buy THIS much of this product, let's make a deal and we'll use you exclusively." We can do easier menu analyses and adjust accordingly to what is selling, what is not, what has the best return, etc. Finally, TIME... there is something to be said for saving time on the mundane... reconciling bank accounts x7 in a matter of minutes instead of hours is amazing. What do you like best?

R365 has become our one stop platform for many of our business, operations and people activities. The platform is user friendly, integrates with all the major systems we use (a few including our LMS, POSs, suppliers, Payroll processing and more) and gives visibility into financials at all levels. We'e been able to provide real time financial reporting to our teams to make a positive impact on the bottom line quickly- no more waiting months for P&Ls the "old fashion" way. I've also been very impressed with their technical and customer support- quick, friendly and thorough! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

We really like software and it's functionality. I'd say the biggest "dislike" would be from some of our store level operators who now have far more eyes on their financials etc. Harder to fly under the radar with the visibility R365 provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

A huge problem for our store level operators is the number of different tools they need to run a shift. We're leveraging R365 to combine as many of those daily tools into a one stop spot for our teams. R365 is our solution for everything Accounting, Inventory and Financials. We also use the Scheduling platform and its team member communication elements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Restaurant365 has knowledgeable onboarding coaches who often have restaurant accounting/ops experience, allows you to deploy modules at your desired pace, provides excellent support, and continuously evolves its product with regular new releases and enhancements. Its litany of integration partners and API/EDI capabilities make it a great option for most any restaurant company. From a module perspective, the Banking module is a huge win. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

the legacy MY REPORTS out put is a little clunky for financial reports, but excited to use the upgraded Customized Financial Reports that is now available! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Highly recommend having done two implementations of R365. Ask them about their product roadmap and what new features/products are forthcoming. As general advice, be sure to do your homework and get at least 1-2 other solutions to compare against. Do not underestimate the value of simplicity and having fewer systems that do more. R365 has many integration options if you seek more value added products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

POS, Vendor, and Banking integrations reduce manual work, leaving us to do more reviewing and approving and less manual entry. Allows us to put more ownership and accountability in the hands of restaurant managers. This has allowed us to keep our accounting & finance teams from growing as we grow restaurants.

Further, the simplicity of having 1 financial system rather than a patchwork accounting & finance tech stack is a huge win for a smaller business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I like that it is a cloud based command center. I can log in from anywhere for current business data. The amount of information to draw from is robust so the learning curve is steep but well worth the time and effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I wish the mobile app was better and more integrated. As with any software R365 has its quirks. For example, when printing checks for a run of invoices I can't add a memo line without saving it to a pdf then editing in Adobe Acrobat. I should be able to do it from the check creation screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's a great platform for gathering deep business data. I have no other platform to compare it to as an all-in-one but it does combine several software packages into one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

its an all-in-one solution for accounting, reporting, and cost controls. When I have more mastery of the platform I can already see myself adding a few percentage points to the bottom line. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The integration between all the modules (inventory, accounting, scheduling, etc.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It can be glitchy sometimes. But it has a ton of potential once all of the kinks are worked out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

R365 is a really robust system that will most likely get even better in the future. It has modules for so many processes that the Restaurant industry utilizes. Customer service is fantastic. They are quick to respond and are always friendly and helpful. I can't wait to see what they do in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With R365, we now have a better invoicing system. The restaurant managers upload the invoices, Accounting enters the invoices, and the Directors of Operations approve them. This is a much more streamlined process. We love that we can reduce paper usage. Plus being able to access the pdf'd invoices in R365 allows Accounting to work from home if need be. It's great. What do you like best?

The inter-connectivity and flow of data. Our team really appreciates have a single system to log on for all things accounting and operations. We are excited that R365 is growing and can one day consolidate other pieces of our business (HR & Payroll, Scheduling, Reporting, etc.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The customization of the system is hard to come by. There are several times where we have wanted to tweak the software to how we do business and operate but the dev team or support tells us it simply cannot be done. Its a hard balance to strike but more flexibility in the system would be preferred. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Integration between the accounting software and POS has been the biggest problem solver and time saver. We also have seen increased production with the operations team as they are able to get real time data and more accurate, reliable costing information out of the system then they have had in the past. What do you like best?

I have found the system to be rather intuitive and simple, making it easy to train new employees. R365 offers the ability to import new or update existing data through excel. I have found this to be extremely efficient and a huge time saver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

As a larger company, we have found the security groups to be extremely limiting because too many tasks are linked together giving users too many or too few capabilites. Development tends to be a little slow (took 5 months to complete something we were told would take 1 month). At the same time though, they will release system updates without warning, which have impacted our processes in the past and required emergency company wide training updates. Having some forewarning to what changes are coming would save us a some pain and time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The biggest problem solved with R365 is ease of use among our restaurant operators. Having an intuitive, simple system empowers them to learn and explore different reporting on their own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the built-in integration to our point of sale system and the ability to attach images of invoices to our payables. I love that it is web-based so I can access anywhere. The support is solid and usually have a response within 24 hours. They do a go job of following up on outstanding issues. They listen to feedback and have implemented some of our suggestions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I think the reporting could be better. Some of the basic features of Quickbooks reporting seem to be a challenge for R365. Also could have some improved analytics tools. They recently added a premium reporting package that I think should be part of their basic suite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are more efficient and spend less time recording transactions and more time making business decisions. We have had some issues with our point of sale system giving good information and sometimes go to R365 for the information because it is more complete and accurate than the data we get from our POS. What do you like best?

Clear process to manage food cost (comparing actual vs theoretical usage).

Scheduling for managers and team members is clear and simple. There's a scheduling app for employees to access schedule and request off.

A lot of built in reports and plenty modules cater to restaurants. There are commissary module and catering module that are also beneficial. Everything is in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

There's no data to record historical recipe. Food cost report is accurate for current reporting. It can't be used to run historical food cost (for comparison).

From time to time, there's always a glitch in reporting. Whether some numbers do not show up on the report or calculation is not accurate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are able to control prime cost, set metrics for managers to keep food cost and labor at certain level.

Investigate where the variance on food cost, whether team members are using too much or too little products, whether there are spillage that are not being recorded or too much spillage.

Inventory tracking cost, price variance tracking on the invoice, smart scheduling are some of the benefits that we get from Restaurant 365. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The menu selections are great, makes it easy to find specific sources of data and their associated forms

. I'm also a fan of the customize button on the GL Reporting, makes adjusting reports on the fly a breeze! All of the different export options make it much easier for producting journal entry backups too Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The GL reporting comes out wrap text and merged columns, major pain in the butt! We have to format all of the data that is exported because it doesn't export in a format conducive to pivot tables. So for each report I run, I'm spending 20 minutes just validating that the formatted data matches the original output. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This is a great platform if you need to manage multiple restaurants, I'm waiting to see how our HR incorporates the software to track labor statistics. Make sure you know your needs and have your historical data backed up because all that was populated for us was Journal Entries to represent past transactions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Nothing much either way, its performing as expected.

We're solving cash reconciliation, tips payable, weekly journal entries to burden the restaurant profit and loss statements. We have a decent sized portfolio of restaurants and managing their books can be a real pain if they're not managed appropriately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Besides having incredibly smart and helpful team members who are always available to help, the software is a huge improvement from Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise. Very easy to use and the fact that it integrates with your POS system is a big bonus. I would highly recommend Restaurant365! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

As a 20+ year user of Quickbooks, I find that the reporting tools are somewhat confusing to use. It typically takes me a few tries to get the proper report to generate. What do you like best?

After using for a year I'm pretty adjusted to how it works. New features highlighting differences between receiving and electronic invoicing are priceless, before it didn't make sense to even do electronic invoicing. Online banking features and their sort of auto reconcile are really good and save a ton of time monthly. They're very responsive on support and have implemented changes to help fix bugs, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

*Too* customizable - easy to just get way too much in the system with the same information. Security is way too bundled. You can either restrict a lot or nothing. Lots of bugs left including really important stuff like recipe costing not working well. In multi-store setting the bank accounts are tough to work with since you can access a master payor account from locations from which the accounts don't belong. Does not interface with payroll service very well, which is very disappointing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

What do you like best?

I like the simple functionality within their app for counting inventory and running through labor. I also like that the account team seems to love doing their accounting within the platform and they have noted a lot of pros compared to QuickBooks Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Being a decent-sized franchisee, we have really run into issues regarding enterprise reporting. We like to look at overall theoretical cogs by location then be able to drill down into the larger variance shops, with 365, we cannot do this as of the time I am writing this. We have pushed them to get this implemented as we think this is very valuable to anyone with over 10 units. A lot of the things we dislike are related to reporting and lack of high-level enterprise reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would make sure that you ask a lot of questions on the platform related to specific functionality that you would like to see. Do not be vague, ask for what you want and make sure they show you a demo on it to ensure it is what you need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Restaurant365 has definitely helped us on the accounting side of this and our accounting team loves the product and I think it makes them more efficient and gives them more insight than they previously had. We are also using the inventory module which has certainly helped at a shop level determine cogs variance and give insight into what needs to be monitored and improved in terms of procedures or theft. We would really love for them to incorporate enterprise comparison reports as that will ultimately solve a lot of our problems and give us the exact insight we need. Sometimes it runs noticeably slow or presents glitches. Support is hard to come by after normal business hours. Weekend support would be very much appreciated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I like the updated scheduling module. Way more user friendly. Also really enjoy the way it helps us track inventory. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Quite frankly R365 is easy to use and gets the job done. Restaurant management isn't rocket surgery but it isn't easy either. R365 is comprehensive in features to cover what we need. Recipes, inventory, AP, and more all just work the way you need them to work to get your job done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The interface can feel antiquated at times and there is a bit of a learning curve that is probably to be expected with any software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Be willing to change how you work to match Restaurant365 and don't go crazy customizing things. That is the way of the dark side. They can customize what needs to be customized but we found it easier once we learned to roll with the flow of it all. Finally, if you aren't taking advantage of the digital inventory sheets, you are leaving money on the table. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Restuarant accounting was more complicated without Restaurant365. We've gained so much efficiency that it is hard to quantify. We have also managed to get everyone on the same page from an accounting stand point. It isn't just the accounting team that is realizing the efficiencies in the process. Before Restaurant365 we had to do inventory with pen and paper. Being able to use a tablet to catch everything live has saved us countless hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The support team is great and our account rep, Marc is one of the best in the business. Answers to questions are responded to very quickly. I also like that the software has the ability to handle multiple legal entities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The reporting module is limited. R365 did introduce a new reporting module that has potential but it comes with a bit of a learning curve for businesses that have multiple legal entities and/or don't have plain vanilla operations. The budgeting module works but can be buggy at times.

The catering module may work well for restaurants but is not adequate for an event catering company such as ours as the system is not designed to handle mass orders that are built in advance and require the food orders to be combined into a master ingredient list for chefs and other food support staff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Good Product but Reporting Could Use a Boost. Also, I wouldn't recommend R365 for event catering companies as the system is not designed to handle mass orders that are built in advance and require the food orders to be combined into a master ingredient list for chefs and other food support staff. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The main issue we solved with R365 was the ability to integrate the G/L with our point of sale system. This has allowed us to reduce the amount of accounting staff needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

R365 is always taking customer feedback to further evolve and develop their platform. I appreciate their dedication to always striving for improvement based on customer needs. The support team has always been quick to respond to any questions or issues that have arisen in my experiences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The downside to always evolving and innovating is that sometimes functions are rolled out without being fully vetted. There are times when I run into issues with a new feature or a glitch in the system. However, I'll accept these issues for a company that is working to better meet my needs. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Better data organization and improved reporting capabilities Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
