The initial setup was easy because I only needed to provide my profile information and payment method. I also use the screening feature often. **What do you dislike about Respondent?** I barely or at all qualify for their studies. None because I haven't qualified for any study since I started using it. The updates but otherwise they don't help. **What problems is Respondent solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Respondent for micro tasks and surveys but I haven't qualified for any study. ### 2. Biased, non transparent membership process **Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2023 **What do you like best about Respondent?** It didn't work at all for me, I can't say anything good **What do you dislike about Respondent?** Using the platform is subject to an entry evaluation by their team, based on a few answers about yourself and your purposes. Answers are not measurable and are not related to any issue that would qualify or disqualify you from using this kind of service, and the application process should take in their words up to 4/6 weeks. They sent me a rejection email after a couple of hours, without explaining the reason. The customer support didn't reply at all to my request of clarification, so I can't use the platform and I am only allowed to try again after 45 days, without being aware of the reason they don't want to open the account. It's an arbitrary system, allowing any of their unskilled employees to freely exercise their bias. I am using freelancer and upwork and I never found such user's barrier, it's pretty annoying. **What problems is Respondent solving and how is that benefiting you?** Freelance jobs availability ### 3. You can pick and choose on which projects you are interested in and finish the screening process. Platform is easy to use. **What do you dislike about Respondent?** You never get any notifications on the screening results or why the researchers went for other candidates. So, the ability to improve on your profile is not possible. It's always a guess which means a lot of time wasted applying for the research projects and not making any freelance money. **Recommendations to others considering Respondent:** I was recommended to Respondent by a friend, but after using it myself for a month, I didn't really see the value of it. I am a participant user meaning I use it for earning extra freelance income. I struggled to understand how I was not selected for a project. No notifications or helpful tip was provided on how to increase the chances of application. The good news is that it's free, so you can test it and see if it makes sense to continue. **What problems is Respondent solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mainly to apply for different freelance jobs and to make extra income. No benefits realized till now. Not productive or have seen an increase in revenue. Would appreciate it if there were some analytics on who clicked on your application and on what went wrong.
