I appreciate being able to see the entire calendar and the colour coding, which helps provide a quick visual in terms of how everything is looking. It really helps in managing my team's capacity and workload by creating a bigger picture for what everyone's working on weekly or monthly. I love how Resource Guru simplifies the scheduling process, making it incredibly easy and efficient to manage our training resource classrooms and instructors. The ability to transfer class assignments seamlessly from one instructor to another is a standout feature that I find very useful, especially when dealing with unforeseen circumstances like instructor absences due to sickness or jury duty. Resource Guru helps prevent double booking of classrooms and provides a clear, at-a-glance view of instructors' schedules, which enhances our organizational workflow significantly. Additionally, once I understood the resource assignment, the setup was straightforward and user-friendly, adding to the overall positive experience with the software. Additionally, when scheduling a class, it doesn't show as a full day, but instead displays as 0.9 of a day, which complicates reporting. It would be more convenient to have an option to schedule the 'day' regardless of the exact hours, supporting full-day or half-day settings, since differences in scheduling hours (like 7 hours versus 8 hours) cause issues when running reports. I like Resource Guru for its easy-to-read format with options like week at a glance and month at a glance, which makes scheduling straightforward. The historical records feature is handy for checking past data. I also appreciate the emailing of schedules to users, including any changes. This functionality saves a lot of time compared to using external spreadsheets for tracking various forms of data. The initial setup of Resource Guru for my team was very easy. The drag and drop feature is nice but it's very touchy and easy to move something you don't want to and not realize it. I love how Resource Guru has simplified our project management process by allowing us to efficiently book multiple projects across several weeks with ease. The intuitive interface makes it incredibly simple to move projects around between team members, providing a clear, general overview of our content creation. The setup was effortless, with features like color coding and drag-and-drop functionality enhancing its simplicity and making it exactly what I needed. The software has solved many booking issues; I can easily see how long a resource is booked and make necessary adjustments, which wasn't possible with Excel. This change has improved productivity by allowing us to move projects fluidly and helps the team visualize their workload months in advance. It's fantastic that I can book projects with various team members and manage schedules effectively. The ability to account for ad hoc events like holidays ensures we won't overschedule, providing a detailed insight into the team's availability. I find it problematic that some features are tied to specific packages, leading to a lack of customization that would be beneficial. For instance, the required presence of a 'billable' column or 'project code' field in the projects and clients area is unnecessary for my workflow, as none of my work is billable and we don't use project codes.
