The security and permission management, its very usefull where there are a lot of people with diferent roles using reportserver. Also the UI is very intuitive and friendly. The possibility of creating hierarchies when adding new reports and data sources is helpfull, because i have diferrent departments in my institution , and i arrange the reports and datasource according to the organisational structure. It looks like , the only way to activate new users is via email. i do not like this option, i think it would be better if administrators could active new users whithout having to send them emails. Recommendations to others considering ReportServer: if you are not satisfied with the tool that you use to produce, integrate and share reports, I recommend you try the reportserver, it is a very robust tool that easily integrates with several reports engines and easy to administer. It wasn't very intuitive, I had to do some digging around to find certain things out - users and roles didnt seem to make sense to the rest of the product. Maybe I expected too much from the product but this didn't seem to fit our needs. Nevertheless it's a good product and for a more specialized requirement this would do someone very well. One of the main benefits for us was the Crystal Report integration. How does a sales manager know how well they are doing without metrics? How does a support department know their average support request life?
