We do miss some of the functionality of the old system. This is the only module we're using, and the reporting capabilities make it very simple to see what is going on with complaints, run metrics, etc. **What do you dislike about Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance)?** My main dislikes revolve around specific pieces of functionality that came with a more recent version of the tool. Specifically, the main thing that can be troublesome is highlighting text with the cursor. For some reason, after a recent update, you can no longer click and drag the cursor to highlight text. This makes copy/pasting and deleting larger blocks of text more difficult and time-consuming. **What problems is Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance) solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows us to organize complaints and run metrics very easily. The reporting functionality is great and gives us really good visibility into what is happening. It also is pretty simple for us to adjust and configure on our own without too much support from EtQ required. The eMDR module is also a massive time saver with regard to submitting MDRs to FDA. ### 12. Most of the features can be used out of the box and the set up is easy and the learning curve to understand and use the modules is fairly low. **What do you dislike about Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance)?** My biggest problem is the lack of training on many of the customizations for the modules, including scripting. I feel like the assumption on the part of the developers is that an IT person, or someone with programing experience will be working as the admin for the system, and this is not the case for us. While some of the customizations are easy to perform, there are lots of times that I hit walls or have problems, get error messages, etc., that I just cannot understand, even though intuitively the system should be working. On top of that there are a lot of scripts that are needed for some of the customizations and I cannot understand most of the scrupting. The user manuals only provide the most basic instructions on scripting, and the online material is, honestly, a joke. The help videos are not helpful and they never go into more than the most basic, cursory level of detail and instruction. Enough to get you into trouble, but to not get out of it again without assistance. **What problems is Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance) solving and how is that benefiting you?** ETQ Reliance is ideal for our document management needs, as well as handling training. The software makes it easy to route and approve documents and to understand the status of any document at a glance. No need to do anything from the database like if you want to add any Master Keyword List or to create any views or to extract data then that can be done via front end. **What do you dislike about Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance)?** If you have any documents attached to any CAPA module ot Complaints module or any other module then you will not able to extract attachments only the data that you can extract. Also various modules are interlinked like for any Complaints you can raise CAPA for that particular Complaints at the same place. Using a single system of record with a full audit trail eliminates the need to manually keep up with due dates and progress against action items. **What do you dislike about Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance)?** Development capabilities of ETQ Reliance are somewhat limited. I have run into a couple issues when developing new workflows that ETQ support was unable to resolve, and seem to be inherent limitations of the software. One example is the lack of ability to copy and paste large pieces of a document or workflow you have developed to re-implement in a new document or workflow. **What problems is Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance) solving and how is that benefiting you?** The primary problem ETQ Reliance solves is the need for a person to monitor and manage progress of workflows. The first application we implemented in ETQ Reliance was Management of Change. Our previous MOC system involved a person holding weekly meetings with all MOC stakeholders to update MOC statuses and track action items. ETQ Reliance has eliminated the need for manual tracking and routine meetings. We have also built a system for managing quality incidents, customer complaints, and audit findings in ETQ Reliance. This process was not previously formalized, and relied on email communication between multiple departments. Using ETQ Reliance has freed up time within our Quality group and allowed them to be more productive. ### 15. We have been able to make changes quickly and implement without a lot time. It is easy to use and you can become an the subject matter expert without a software degree. **What do you dislike about Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance)?** Getting better but still not intuitive for the average user. We have problems with different browsers and now configuration is not quite as configurable. In order for the system to be more user friendly it will have to be more configurable with pictures messages and hint. **Recommendations to others considering Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance):** The service center drives me crazy. I put in a ticket and have to go back and forth with them several times, spending sometime hours getting them information. When I finally get someone, (new that has never reviewed the case), it usually takes them 20-30 minutes to find and fix the issue. Also the case closes after a specific amount of time. So if we open on Friday it has it closed by Monday because we didn't respond. Then we have to go back in and reopen. Would also like to have a better link to the fixes that are in work that we have had issues with. For example we have problems with copy and paste using some browsers, I want to have the list of patches that you are working on and which patches are the ones I'm interested in. And a huge bonus would be an estemated completion time. **What problems is Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance) solving and how is that benefiting you?** Currently working on making the system more user friendly. Everything is centralized and at my fingertips. I have the flexibility to customize where and when I need to. All the modules generally run the same, so our users like that no matter what module they are using, they can easily understand how to navigate the workflow and views. **What do you dislike about Octave Reliance (ETQ Reliance)?** I understand general databases, administrator functions and tools like MS Access. I designed our tracking tools before ETQ and managed them until we could find a streamlined solution. My background is not IT. EtQ has ETQ Scripts that you can use to do more with the modules and data. Many managers and users require viewing lots of records at the same time, and like to have different views custom to the actions they want to take. That advanced filters only allow "contains" and not "does not contain" even though the quick filters do allow "does not contain" is a weird lack of consistency across the product - Simple Charts/Reports: Even if advanced analysis doesn't need to be done in Reliance, clearly, the Charts and Reports module is almost deprecated and not often upgraded. Again, given reliance can contain a lot of data - the ability to create simple, filterable charts to provide users and managers with an overview of the status of their records and actions would be hugely helpful and it seems amiss this has to be handled all in ETQ Insights instead. - Tagged comments and notifications: Overall the notifications system in Reliance is fiddly and not so easy to use. Also allowing 'tagged' comments with accompanying notifications would be a real benefit. Additionally a simple notifications management module, like for workflows would be so much better than the way they are done currently. The views don't automatically allow for location filtering. Views also filter oddly. For example, the view to completed Documents sorts by Created Date, not by Completed Date. The automatic Aging Review process has been extremely beneficial as this process was also performed manually before ETQ implementation. Unfortunately, my org is small, and my QMS needs are not so complex, and the engineers were very candid in their agreement. Working with the engineers was great - they were fantastic! But I found working with the support team and Reps very difficult. The support team would rarely respond in a timely fashion.
