The platform has powerful options to customise review workflows and handles large amounts of data fairly easily. Improvements from their development team are frequent and as an organisation they welcome feedback and offer advance release to partners for testing. They claim to be investing heavily in new tech with a decent roadmap for upcoming features. **What do you dislike about Relativity?** Relativity has often relied on their community for plug-ins that other platforms offer as standard. This can increase the cost of the offering as compared to other tools. They are quick to release new features but often ignore improvements to key functionality like processing data and text extraction speeds for the bells and whistles that provide better market optics. Relativity is expensive and doesn't adjust pricing based on new technology. Machine translation is a good example, whilst it is free in nearly all platforms (and can be done in O365 on the fly), Relativity insists on charging a high per doc fee based on character counts while accessing MS Azure's translation features. **What problems is Relativity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Relativity is the core of our business as a litigation support provider. I know there are features that I don't even know about within the program—that's how expansive the software's functionality is! **What do you dislike about Relativity?** I think because there are so many features, Relativity can become clunky to use. I found it difficult to navigate to and perform simple tasks, like switching the view of a given document, or splitting the screen. **Recommendations to others considering Relativity:** I might consider other e-discovery software that is a bit more user-friendly, if your priority is to ensure that those using the software can perform their duties quickly and efficiently. **What problems is Relativity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Relativity certainly makes document review within large teams easier. ### 9. It's better than having all your documents in an access database, and having 20 database programmers to run queries and pull out files for you & etc. **What do you dislike about Relativity?** There's no way to download files for later viewing. If I know I'm going to be on a plane w/o internet, or at a friend's cabin w/o internet, or etc., it would be really great if I could download the next several thousand documents to be reviewed to my local storage, and not have to access the cloud. In my own personal case, I'm a lawyer who picks up side income as a document review tech for big law firms, and I really enjoy that I can work remotely. I hate that I can't work *that* remotely, because I'm significantly limited by bandwidth--I can't work from any but the fastest connections. If I work from home, I can skate by if I'm fast and if I underbill my time. My brother and his wife and their two beautiful toddlers live 3 hours from me, and I love to visit them. I visit a lot less than I otherwise would, if I could work from their place. If I could download 3 days worth of files to review, or do downloads overnight, that would be a wonderful help to this problem. **Recommendations to others considering Relativity:** The vendor who provides "tech support" gets paid when you pay for extra features like extra users or batch help... that tends to screw their incentives to make things simple and ensure things work right. It's not ideal. Be on your guard and protect your own interests. **What problems is Relativity solving and how is that benefiting you?** I do doc rev for attorneys. ### 10. With the flexibility of the platform, I can develop custom applications to solve a myriad of problems to create an efficient and profitable workflow. I can make recommendations and provide real-time problem-solving to emergent issues. **What do you dislike about Relativity?** I wish that Relativity would fully vet the upgrades before making them available. The past several upgrades have created more problems than solutions that have left my users with severe distaste for functionality of the platform. Tens of thousands to millions of documents can be processed through this system and program with ease. This is a major e-discovery software used for redacting and finding documents relevant to a case. **What do you dislike about Relativity?** Relativity can be a bit slow at times. Off site implementation is also not the best. **Recommendations to others considering Relativity:** Relativity will need support from the company now and then. Expect it. **What problems is Relativity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Relativity is used to process large amounts of documents in an efficient manner for document review in determining whether documents are needed for a case. I can however say, that thus far I have not found anything that I dislike about it. **What problems is Relativity solving and how is that benefiting you?** I provide a wide range of problem solving within my current organization.
