We eventually found the right editor for our book, and the whole experience turned out better than we expected. Before making a decision, we spent quite a bit of time researching different platforms. One thing we noticed was that many self‑published authors had positive experiences with the editing services on Reedsy, which gave us the confidence to try it ourselves. From our experience, the service really lived up to the reputation. The editor we worked with was professional, attentive, and truly helped improve the quality of our manuscript. Honestly, we were very happy with the outcome. I genuinely enjoyed working with them and would highly recommend their service to anyone looking for professional book editing. Like any platform, Reedsy comes with both advantages and a few limitations, so it’s only fair to look at both sides when reviewing it. There are plenty of reasons why self‑publishing authors might want to consider Reedsy. The platform connects writers with experienced publishing professionals and provides helpful guidance throughout the publishing journey. That said, it may not be the ideal choice for everyone. For example, if you're looking for a platform with the largest possible pool of collaborators, you might find other marketplaces with more options. Another limitation is that Reedsy currently doesn’t offer an audiobook production service, which could be a drawback for authors planning to publish in that format. Reedsy also focuses more on practical tools, resources, and actionable advice for self‑publishers. However, if you're hoping for something similar to a formal MFA-style writing program, the platform might not fully meet that expectation. We found Reedsy after an extensive search. Having studied this platform for a while, finally, we have decided to look forward to handing over these tasks. And we were amazed by the results too. There is no audiobook service. Reedsy offers actionable ideas and advice for self-publishers. If you're looking for something closer to an MFA, it might not be the best option for you.
