## Redmine Reviews
  ### 1. Self-Hosted Simplicity with Powerful Project Management

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oleksandr G. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

I like Redmine for its simplicity and the fact that it is self-hosted. The free license is a big plus for me as it gives me control over my data, and I can freely backup and use it. Switching to Redmine was easy for us as it's more modern and features complete compared to Bugzilla.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

I'm not happy with the development and feel like there's some sort of features stagnation with Redmine. The interface looks outdated to me, and that's a bummer. Also, dealing with outdated plugins that can't be used with modern Redmine versions is a headache.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Redmine helps with time tracking, projects documentation, ticketing, task management, and reporting.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco D. | Product Lead Technology, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Since Redmine is an open-source project it is highly customizable. Not only can you change the looks and processes but Redmine can be extended by writing your own integrations via its plugin system. In theory this allows you to build a project management software 100% customized to your companies needs.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Out-of-the-box Redmine's user interface can seem very bland and the learning curve to configure the software can be quite steep, so some learning and adaptation is required before you can start using the software.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The four main areas my team uses Redmine for are:

1. Task management to assign responsibilities and monitor progress
2. Bug tracking to allow our users to log and describe issues in detail, so the development team can solve them accordingly
3. Documentation to provide a centralized location to store our software and project documentation
4. Resource management to help manage our soft- and hardware resources and track their availablity

**Reviewed by:** Udit A. | Team Leader-PCB Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

Redmind is a very nice tool for Project management as well as issues tracking, I liked it's issues tracking very helpful, you can assign ticket for multiple issues and can assign to respective Owner.

Project management can be improved much so as to define multiple tasks, add teams, can log estimation of time or efforts, can log your time spent on daily basis & can see activities related to that task.

If you are looking for one tool that can be used for issues tracking as well as project management, Redmind is a very decent tool you can go for!

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Issue management is very useful as you can generate tickets for seperate issues by which it can be tracked on regular basis intil its resolution is done, you can assign the ticket to respective person and can add watchers you can see the ticket.

  ### 8. Best Project Management tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pallavi C. | PRT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Redmine is the best project management tool that i have been using. I am easily able to assign tasks to my team and can check the status regularly. Apart from this, i was quickly able to check time spent by my team on a particular module/task. A most significant advantage is that this is open-source.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

I was not too fond of the UI of the software. It would be great if the same can be done. Apart from this, Redmine is the best software that i have used to date. If the software team can introduce drag-drop functionality to move the tasks from one place to another, that would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

Only UI/UX of the software needs to be updated. Apart from this everything is fine

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was able to solve the project complexities
I was able to manage the tasks of team members
I was able to manage the time of my team members
I was able to see the graphical representation of the complete status of the project etc

**Reviewed by:** Nitin S. | Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Redmine is an open-source, Free to use project management tool. I have been using this for the past few years now and have managed multiple projects at a time. We can easily create work tasks as per the project requirement and assign them to the specific developer. We can even manage timesheets over here.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

The thing I dislike the most is its UI/UX. I would recommend having the new designs as per industry standards. Apart from this, I think this is the best tool that I have used to date.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

I just have one advise, they should update the UI/UX of the software.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- I am easily able to assign the tasks to my team
- I can easily check the status of the task in terms of progress.
- I am easily able to manage the time of my team members etc.

  ### 10. Perfect project management tool for mid size companies

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tins K. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

It's open-source and provides much customization over the UI and functionality. it is very easy to assign tasks to developers and tracking each task is very simple.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

some times I feel that the UI should be improved with the current market trends.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The project management and task break down made much simpler after using Redmine in our organization. Tracking multiple sprints and the chart view helps the scrum master to identify the actual status of the project.

  ### 11. Easy Bug Tracking for Beginers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

1. Easy & Simple.
2. Can track the tickets in multiple projects & receive mail notifications.
3. Provide a solid filtration option to filter the raised tickets.
4. Able to add project versions.
5. When raising a ticket, all the required fields are displayed on one page. So use no need to scroll the page & not complicated to understand.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Since I used an old version of reading, I don't know the latest version. But it's better to improve the UI component keeping the UX since the current user experience is better.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

Since this application is free & open-source, I recommend this application for startups & beginners. Because it provides more features than is look.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Project version maintenance.
2. Issue tracking.
3. Issue monitoring.

  ### 12. Very convenient way to track you're organization's support tasks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eber C. | Director de proyecto, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

You can quickly receive, assign and track tasks across your department. It allows you to analyze how efficient you're team has been in solving problems. Its integration with e-mail is helpful! You can make a task out of an e-mail and notify the user that you're already working on it. It is convenient to keep a healthy and friendly workflow. I love how you can quickly consult the status of a task on the web.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Honestly, I think it does everything that it´s supposed to do. However, maybe the user interface could be a bit more user-friendly sometimes. Though it is supposed to be understood by all organization members, it doesn't easily portray the information. And, since we have workers with different capacities, not all are fully benefiting from Redmine.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

If your company has a significant amount of internal support requests, you will find it very helpful. But it might not make much sense if your team is small.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our Computer Department uses it to receive support requests from all departments. We use a specific e-mail address to write when anyone is having an issue or needs support from IT. Then, Redmine creates the task. The good thing is that it gives the requester the feeling that his petition is being taken seriously and gives IT more control over its workload. On the other hand, every member can see the list of requests submitted and their status.

  ### 13. Excellent software for task management and documentation

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christoph K. | Inhouse Consultant SAP PP/MM, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Very well-structured user interface that allows for quick familiarization and intuitive operation. Within my organization, Redmine is used as a tool for managing adjustments in the ERP system. The ability to personalize tasks is particularly helpful here, as different content can be displayed within a task depending on the project within Redmine. This greatly helps to address the different requirements of the projects. Besides the management function, Redmine is also particularly helpful in documentation. Here, for example, you can present adjustments in an audit-compliant manner. The filtering option and the possibilities for generating reports are particularly good. Here, you can rely on your own criteria, which is very helpful. Typically, Redmine sends a notification to the associated email address when changes are made to tasks to which a person is assigned.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Currently, there is no way to integrate with MS Teams for the version we are using. The user interface is a bit outdated and could be designed more modernly. Other offerings like JIRA or Trello further support the possibility of agile project management.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

If you are considering using Redmine, I would certainly include the integration into the existing or used corporate communication (e.g., MS Teams) in the evaluation. It has been shown that tools offering this integration experience higher adoption than tools that only notify via email.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Presentation of a task backlog
- Presentation of specifications for change requests
- Exchange between developer and IT consultant
- Audit-capable recording of system adjustments
- Use for progress tracking of tickets and adjustments
- Coordination and communication with other areas
- Acceptance of adjustments
- Proof of user acceptance tests

**Reviewed by:** Avishay M. | DevOps Engineer , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Very customizable and pretty much straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

not all popular plugins available in JIRA are also available in Redmine, but sometimes you can still find a decent alternative

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

using Remine we can communicate better as a team. Researching deep enough and you can find the right workflow for each use, such as bug reports and open tasks from outside teams

  ### 15. Redmine as an Agile PM tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Selvam M. | Head of PMO, Utilities, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Configurable and workflow-driven. The resource management feature is fantastic to plan resource loading requirements

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

The mobile app is not an app. It's a website page only. So does not give a mobile app feel.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

Evaluate the plug-ins that are suitable for your implementation

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Resource planning for resource deployment and billing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nithya S. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

The task boards are good and easy to create. I have been using this tool to run my project using Kanban boards. It is easy to maintain and most of the important details that are necessary to be transparent in the offshore and onshore model is easily configurable.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

On the downsides, the look and feel is below basic and gives the feel of a age old tool to manage projects. In the given trend it is very necessary that the tool appears smart and bright. The workflows to be configured are also very confusing. May be it would help to have some quick video so that if any new user watches it, they can as well learn or watch a quick tutorial to help them understand how the tool works.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

If you are getting into the Agile mode and are looking for a cost effective tool that offers basic features, then you may definitely try this product. The tool is really good if you plan to adopt Kanban because I personally see it serves the purpose. The burn up and burn down charts are basic, will help you track most of the efforts and team performance easily.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly the onshore/offshore model collaboration is done using this tool. The only ease of using I see is the creation, allocation, updates of tasks especially on kanban boards. They look pretty simple and a few days hands on is sufficient to know how to use the tool.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Requires self-installation and maintenance. Support limited to community docs.
Not for the technically faint of heart
No regular support

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

Redmine is a highly flexible project management tool and is perhaps a bit difficult to install for the first time, but once installed it is easily updated and automatically backs up.

Redmine allows us to configure it widely to adapt it to the needs of our business and has allowed us to have a large number of add-ons that make the management of projects and all related processes very easy. **What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Interface is a little dated but it is functional.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 35. Good tool for documentation and issue tracking

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Helpful tool for tracking issues, watching issues, and assigning tasks. Good for file uploads.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

I do not like how many clicks it takes to update an issue. Sometimes I have to upload and then click a couple more times to get to the update. Also there is no mobile app as far as I know.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

Be careful about over assigning issues and then having the issues pile up. Can be harder to prioritize.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use redmine for issue tracking.

  ### 36. Issue tracking for free

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Junxiao S. | Guest Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Redmine is a free webapp for issue tracking. It has many features but you have to define how your organization is going to use it.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Redmine’s privilege model is too coarse grained: if you are a “developer” of a project, you can’t reject or abandon an issue.

“Precedes” and “Follows” issue relations always cause a mess in dates. We end up not using these relations, and not using dates in general.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

You need to define how your organization is going to use Redmine. For example, what issue qualifies as a “Task” vs a “Feature”? Does an issue go into “In Progress” state during design stage, or only after coding starts? What status to use during code review (we created a dedicated “Code Review” status)?

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Redmine to assign software development tasks.

  ### 37. Excellent, low-cost project and ticket management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian C. | Head of Library Technology Initiatives and Development, Libraries, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2017

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Redmine offers many features for the cost and is extremely stable. It's designed well for management of small to medium size projects. With the right technical expertise, it can accomplish a lot for you. We've used it for more than five years. We used it in the role of service desk support as well. It integrated seemlessly with our organizational LDAP authentication system. Setting up the creation of tickets, and commenting, via email was pretty straightforward. Two other departments in addition to our technical group, have been using it as well. Those were both customer service groups and they were able to adapt to it with only a few hours of training. Customizing ticket statuses and workflow is simple and easy-to-use. As our group and scope of work have grown, we are now transitioning to JIRA.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

No so much of a dislike but it base design isn't as flexible as commercial tools. The UI/UA design is easy-to-use and simple but not easily manipulated out-of-the-box. Setup of Ruby and Rails requires expertise in that environment. It's not as flexible for use as a Support Desk application. The administrative interface is not as refined and does not offer as much functionality as some other tools.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

Redmine requires knowledge of Linux and Ruby on Rails amongst your DevOps team. I would carefully consider your project management and service desk requirements. It works best in the former role.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed track tickets for both our application dev projects and support desk. Redmine has worked well over the last five years.

  ### 38. Good tool to distribute team task

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Iago A. | Ingeniero software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

It's easy to create tasks and assign it to workmates and set the time you've spend on the task.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

The look it's a bit old and simple. It could use a bootstrap look style.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

If you want a product easy to use and simple to assign tasks and see the time they have taken to be done, this is the ideal tool. You can monitor a lot of project on the main page.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy organization of task and monitorization of the time spent on each task.

  ### 39. Redmine - Best Opensource bug tracking tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2017

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

- Enough functionalities for task/bug tracking
- Support multiple projects with users and roles
- Easy to setup and run

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

- Poor option for tickets (bug/task) status, type and workflow
- Don't have good reports
- No Kanban board support

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

- Opensource tool to manage project. Suitable for start-ups with < 5 team members and small projects with low budget that just need a tool to manage tasks/bugs and simple workflow which is better than using Excel spreadsheet

- Do not use this if you are following Agile/Scrum as it does not support Kanban board and Scrum workflow.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Manage a project about building mobile application for healthcare system

  ### 40. Decent Ticket Tracking

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kev B. | IT Instructor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

The interface is fairly clean and simple while also providing a lot of functionality. Responsive UI for mobile.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

A lot of fields that might be overkill for smaller issues don't need to be visible and can cause clutter.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

It's decent ticket tracking and will likely meet your needs. The low cost is great so long as you have the manpower to support it.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use redmine for issue tracking. While a lot of the functionality presented is overkill for our needs, I'm glad it's there, with the exception of when it adds to visual clutter. I'm glad that it emails updates to tickets as I don't check the system daily and still get updates when required.

  ### 41. Redmine - simple and effective

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

This is a pretty simple to use project issue tracking tool with built in wiki functionality. Throw in some free plugins you have it customized for Agile /Scrum/ Kanban. You can take the effort out of installing it by using one of bitnami instances - head to bitnami.com to download

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

This thing is built on ruby. So, installing plugins is a hit or miss -if the ruby version/ dependencies are not met. Sometimes this can bring down the entire instance

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

Stick with the original, not any of the forks. Be careful of the plugins. The plugins can bring down the entire site

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We ran our entire business with it. - serving multiple clients and the product development. Clients used the external URL/ projects and development team used a different project on the same instance. You could like client issues/ requests with development work items and that way track the issue progress

  ### 42. When time tracking meets tasks tracking

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ivan M. | Software Engineering Manager, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Full set of features needed to manage software development outsource on Enterprise scale
Good reporting and notifications system
Time tracking feature integrated with tasks tracking

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Poor UI
Big amount of features may be confusing for new users

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

Good tool if you are looking for system that has time and tasks tracking integrated

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Manage individual contributors/outsource work

  ### 43. JIRA like project management and bug tracker

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Valdir S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

The ability to configure almost every aspect and workflow for each tracker and project.
Subprojects and subtasks are very good also.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

The gantt and the date based relationship for preceding and following tasks. A time based gantt would be better for small tasks.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

The time tracking for subtasks plus parent tasks are very useful for time management on each version.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm managing projects, subprojects, tasks, subtasks and using versions like sprints for task distribution and management.

  ### 44. Great way to manage requests

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grace C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Pretty intuitive design, easy to navigate. Great for a complex projects that involve a lot of different people and departments.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

There are a few user experience issues that I wish they would address. For example, there's no way to get from "my page" to a new ticket. You have to go into an existing ticket and then open a new ticket. That seems like a really big oversight, since "my page" is (for me at least) my go-to "homepage" for Redmine.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaborating on requests between departments.

  ### 45. Sufficient issue tracking tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katherine G. | Executive Exchange Manager, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2017

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

I like that by assigning an issue to a colleague it prompts them to move forward with their task, and I am only prompted when the issue is assigned back to me. As a user I mostly go to "My Page" - it allows me to easily access previous tickets that I created and shows tickets that are assigned to me at a glance. The tool organizes issues by projects, so we are able to track website issues separately from marketing reviews etc. The "watcher" feature enables a colleague to receive updates on a project where they need to be in the loop.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

The design of the website isn't very engaging, and neither are the emails. If there was a more engaging tool that had all the same capabilities I would probably opt for that over Redmine.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are tracking issues from start to completion that span across departments.

  ### 46. Custom Kanban would be a great enhance for Redmine

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ken C. | Senior Technical Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2017

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Easy to use. Free and deployable on our own. Because of the special network environment in China, it's quite slow to access many product in outside-china environment.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Dashboard kanban board can only be used by its internal status. I would be great if it can be defined and used by the custom field. And because the status field is not per project and system wide, so it's not easy for different project to experiment new process.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using redmine to keep track of the operation issues and communication issues between customer and our sales team, between sales/ops team and our development team. It help standardized the process and keep track of things without missing any.

  ### 47. Quick ticket tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Friedrich M. | Product Manager, Wholesale, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2017

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Its pretty fast to create a ticket and assign a person / project to it. Tickets do have all the settings you need, like a status / priority / due date and more. I like best that tickets or changes that have been written can not be undone completely - you are able to keep track of everything.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Handling attachments to a ticket can be a pain. For instance redmine needs a better preview function for screenshots / pictures.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

You can google for a trick to use an animated gif as your avatar. Other than that I recommend Redmine for business usage.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Well we use Redmine as our main ticket system. You can keep track of the time you are working on a project, as well as the status and milestones.

  ### 48. Basic tool that is essentiel for projects

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Essentiel tool for follow, resolve bugs and to make projets improvement. You can assign tickets to specific people and add followers. Everyone can receive alerts when someone makes a modification.
Project manager can prioritise projects they work on and also add a closing date.
You also can communicate within tickets which is very easy to follow the evolution of different projets and to have the history of information exchanges.
Besides, you can customize the tool.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Redmine is not really use friendly.
You can find all your old tickets, but it's not really easy to find.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used everyday Redmine to ask evolutions and to resolve bugs.

  ### 49. A tracking that would like to be more

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2017

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

The management of the tasks is certainly the core of the instrument and it does it very well. The ACL is very well manageable as also the personal customization of the profile especially to filter communications. The supporting features of the forum and the wiki pages can be useful for project management.

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

The user experience and appearance is far behind other tools of the same category, as well as the standard methodology of project task management, this cause a learning curve of the instrument not immediate.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

The first impact can be boring, with time it becomes enjoyable. Recommended for not too big companies (medium and small companies). The plugin marketplace is quite varied but the selection of the most suitable add ons may take longer than expected, if you want to gradually insert the tool into your own reality, this implication may be acceptable. However, the tool is very widespread and there is no lack of discussions on how to find the most suitable tool for your needs.
The self-hosted version may be safer, however it requires a well-placed server (which has a cost) to have acceptable performance.

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Management and visibility of internal planning tasks.

  ### 50. Redmine - great tool for project management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nhi L. | Software Tester, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2017

**What do you like best about Redmine?**

Redmine's a project management tool. It has been used for most of projects of my company. It is an open source and free tool. you can customize for what you need. There are many plugins available on the internet. It offers a friendly interface. You can integrate Redmine with Slack to notify new bugs and features

**What do you dislike about Redmine?**

Redmine is a pure bug tracking system so the feature management system is limited. You need skills of installing and updating Redmine. It lacks of visual functions for users to have general view.

**Recommendations to others considering Redmine:**

there should be a supervisor to introduce to beginners
Redmine better works in a small team

**What problems is Redmine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At present I make advantage of Redmine to manage projects in the company.
This tool can help project manager assign work to developers and can notify bugs for the developers from QA,QC
