"Redgate Monitor provides real-time, actionable insights into our SQL environments, and much more"
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

We get relevant, detailed information about our SQL servers and databases, whether they're on premises or in the Azure cloud. Having a single pane of glass to view the health of our environment allows us to be proactive about maintenance, and the product provides critical insights into what's happening with our production systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

Honestly, I can't think of anything to dislike. The pricing structure is reasonable, and the product works well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SQLMonitor is an invaluable tool in managing all my SQL Servers and have used it for years"
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

I'm extremely impressed with Redgate SQL Monitor and how it has transformed my ability to oversee and manage our SQL Server environment. What I like best is its comprehensive and intuitive insight into the health and performance of my SQL Servers. The product's ease of use is a significant advantage; its interface is highly intuitive, making it simple to navigate and extract valuable information.

The product provides a remarkably useful overview of the "state" of all our instances, allowing me to quickly identify any potential issues at a glance. This high-level visibility is invaluable for proactive monitoring. We use it daily, which speaks volumes about its indispensability in our routine operations.

Beyond the initial overview, SQL Monitor truly shines when it comes to troubleshooting. Its ability to let me "dig down further when there is an issue" is a game-changer. The detailed metrics and drill-down capabilities mean I can swiftly pinpoint the root cause of performance bottlenecks or other problems, significantly reducing resolution times. It's a powerful tool that empowers me to maintain optimal SQL Server performance and stability.

Ease of implementation was also straightforward, allowing us to get up and running quickly. Furthermore, the customer support has been excellent; I've consistently experienced good response times and effective resolutions to any queries or issues in the past.

I am both an administrator and a user Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

While generally very satisfied, I do sometimes find the web GUI a bit slow. However, I suspect this could be a limitation of the underlying virtual machine infrastructure rather than an inherent flaw in the software itself.

Regarding ease of integration, I would appreciate more transparency or documentation that provides a clearer understanding of the underlying tables in the SQL database that supports SQL Monitor. This would be beneficial for advanced custom reporting or deeper integration efforts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lot's of tools, falling behind."
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

I like all the different monitors. Being able to see top 10 queries by expense and have a means of investigating how to troubleshoot or resolve issues. In terms of SQL Server Enterprise and to some extent Azure SQL, the tool is pretty mature and very dependable. The UI is easy to learn and using the tool becomes second nature. It was easy to setup and get rolling. My DBA's use it multiple times a day to make sure not only do we not have issues. But we are making improvements on performance. What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

A couple of improvements that could fit in this space:

- Better integration with other Red-Gate products (SQL Backup, SQL Prompt, etc)

- We need a solution for security and being able to review security and effective roles at a glance, search, and perspectives. Yes you can do this with code. But we need a faster, visual, facilitated tool.

- ***BIG ONE*** - You guys are making good progress in incorporating other databases (Postgres). However, you are missing the boat on MS Stack which is where your core competency has been for decades and where new tools in MS like Fabric, Synapse, Azure SQL, and Purview are going uncared for. Licensing for SQL Server Enterprise is getting out of control and it is obvious they are pushing people towards SAAS. And there is a huge opportunity for new products to support SAAS as there are very few options out there to fill gaps, especially with your tenure in this role. Example would be monitoring of Fabric resources. Right now we have FUAM, which is great. But it's not enterprise great in leadership's minds. They will pay if you will offer. Or, you go the way of Idera and others, ride the cash-cow and fade into the sunset. I would rather see Red-Gate succeed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best SQL Monitoring Tool"
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

What I love about Redgate Monitor is not just the fact that you can monitor your SQL real estate in one Portal (great if your a CSP), but the fact it provides recommendations on how to fix Stored Procedures that have the largest impact on the performance of your Database Servers. The new features around Security compliance is definitely going to be a game changer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

Navigation can be improved. Sometimes it can be challenging to find something you might have stumbled across before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent tool to monitor SQL DB servers and SQL workloads!"
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

Redgate Monitor has proven to be an invaluable tool in our project for proactive monitoring and alerting of SQL Server databases and workloads.

Its robust monitoring, alerting, and reporting capabilities, combined with a user-friendly interface make it an excellent solution for database administrators. It significantly simplifies the DBA’s role by eliminating the need to manually run complex SQL queries for performance analysis and troubleshooting. With real-time metrics and insights readily available, DBAs can quickly identify, troubleshoot and resolve potential issues

The installation and configuration process is straightforward, and the tool integrates seamlessly with ServiceNow for automated ticket creation (P1–P4) and streamlined service delivery management. We’re truly a satisfied customer of Redgate Monitor! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

The Standard and Premium editions of Redgate Monitor can be cost-prohibitive for projects with a limited SQL Server footprint, making it a less viable option for smaller-scale environments Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"In less than two years, it has become our go-to monitoring tool"
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

As a consultancy firm specialized in database administration, we’ve been using Redgate Monitor as our primary monitoring solution for nearly two years. During this time, it has proven to be a reliable, intuitive, and highly effective tool for managing and optimizing our clients DBMS environments.

The interface is clean, setup is straightforward, and the performance analysis and alerting features are among the most complete we’ve encountered. The historical data and detailed insights have significantly reduced the time required for root cause analysis and performance troubleshooting.

One of the key benefits we’ve experienced is the ability to get a comprehensive overview of all monitored servers while still being able to drill down into the specifics of individual databases and queries. This has made Redgate Monitor not only essential for day-to-day operations but also extremely valuable during initial assessments of new client environments.

In short, Redgate Monitor has become fully embedded in our processes and now plays a strategic role in the quality and efficiency of the services we provide. It’s become our go-to tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

While the feature set is rich and the value is undeniable, pricing may be a barrier for smaller environments or clients with tight budgets. Additionally, some advanced customizations require scripting or integration efforts that might not be immediately accessible to less experienced users. Nonetheless, the overall ROI remains high for teams that rely heavily on proactive database management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great SQL Monitoring platform"
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

I have been using Redgate SQL Monitor for around 13 years. I did a lot of research when picking it as it is a large investment and the fact I am still using it and justifying it every year shows its quality. It is constantly updated with actually useful features, web based so no agents on production systems and genuinely useful dashboards and metrics. Really helps me and the team in our day to day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

The recent adddition of the Enterprise version is concerning that we will lose features or capability. We need to justify this expense to our management every year when global platforms are in use by other teams. If the cost creeps up too much it will be too hard to justify so hopefully they can manage this without losing us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best all-in-one commercial SQL Database Monitoring tool!"
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

Our team was having trouble monitoring our databases and environments in one place. We did not have the manning or capacity to create a custom solution, so we started exploring 3rd party monitoring tools. No other tool came close to RedGate monitor, both in terms of features/breadth of monitoring functions and in terms of price.

The fact that we can monitor server, instance, and database health in one tool is a game changer. The customization available for pre-made alerts is great, and the ability to create custom alerts is a huge help. In the first two months, we identified 3 separate configuration/performance issues with our systems that we were able to resolve and optimize!

RedGate customer support has also been stellar, from initial demos to tweaking and troubleshooting after installation. Installing RedGate monitor was surprisingly easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

The custom monitoring reports feature has been difficult to set up and troubleshoot, and the customizability of the reports is lacking. It is still somewhat useful to provide a basic snapshot to our managers on a weekly basis, but it is limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"DBA Work Buddy"
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

RedGate Monitor helps a lot in troubleshooting job especially on SQL scripting. The most feature used is deadlock event monitoring. Through RedGate Monitor help, admin can get all the important information through one single webpage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

RedGate Monitor lack of customization feature for graph reporting purposes. It also lacks of the user permission features on separating user to allow for viewing different group of servers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
