"Great Visibility into Performance Metrics, Blocking, and Long-Running Queries"
5/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

Visibility. I am not a DBA, but I am able to use the tool and easily find performance metrics, blocking, and long running queries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

I wish I had training to better understand and get more from the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Facilitate Monitoring with Instant Visibility"

What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

I really like the ease of being able to see the status of the databases at a glance. I also find it excellent to have access to the heaviest queries performed on the databases easily and quickly, without having extensive knowledge in SQL database administration. Additionally, it is valuable to me because it allows me to easily know how our critical business databases are working, without needing to have extensive technical knowledge like DBAs. The configuration of the database monitoring itself was very simple and is very well documented on their platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

I would like to have a wallboard within the tool to project the status of the databases in a simple way on the team's monitoring screens. We have indeed had some issues when configuring Windows users for the tool and have missed some documentation in that regard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Monitoring with Room for Improvement"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

I use Redgate Monitor for monitoring all our disparate SQL Server environments in one dashboard, which is really convenient. The unified alerts and reporting/auditing capabilities are great for executive reporting for downtime. I think the UI is excellent because you don't need to be a SQL DBA to understand the state of the environment. It also provides drill-down capabilities, which help technical folks research issues without having to connect to SQL. I find the alerting system good, as it has replaced a ton of home-grown SQL alerts, and the custom alerting allows us to move self-developed SQL reporting and alerting to Redgate Monitor, making it easier to liberalize those alerts to other SQL instances. What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

The onboarding of servers could be more verbose with errors. Having to download logs is annoying and cumbersome. It could be easier to display error messages on the configuration page. Working between domains means you have to deploy a base monitor to each domain, which is also cumbersome to manage, especially when upgrading. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive Monitoring with User-Friendly Interface"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

I like that the interface is easy to use and provides a lot of information about the current state of the SQL Server instance. The graphs are granular, which helps me easily focus on the time frame relevant to customer-reported issues. I also appreciate how it allows me to spot the queries that consume the most processing time over long periods, making it straightforward to prepare tickets for specific improvements for the engineering team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

Notifications often feel redundant to be honest. I never used it or thought they were useful. Could be me not knowing how to use them well maybe. I would probably like it to be more customizable in the ways you can receive notifications. Like set up complicated filtering and the notifications working off those. 'if the stored procedure x takes more than y time on database z give me a notification' etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Monitoring, Rich Metrics Display"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

I like Redgate Monitor's ability to bring metrics from multiple servers together in one easy to view window without complex set up of the dashboard. It's super easy to use when setting up alerting. I appreciate how I can quickly check VM disk usage, including predictions on when the disk may become full. The graphs for each database/server and the ability to group resources by function are very helpful. Overall, the dashboard is easy to view, and compared to the Azure portal, Redgate Monitor is generally easier and quicker to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

Currently the initial installation isn't the simplest. I initially had some issues setting up the correct network rules to allow it to connect to my VMs. This is now covered in the documentation for the product and not an issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential Tool for SQL Performance and Monitoring"
5/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

I really love using Redgate Monitor for managing and supporting SQL Managed Instances on Azure, which is fantastic. The reporting functionality is something we absolutely love, especially the ability to create really structured alerts. The dashboards are pretty customizable, allowing us to see the health of any node at any time. This tool has helped us diagnose database performance issues over the years, saving us a ton of money and SLA credits. We also appreciate the proactive monitoring and alerting capabilities that notify our development team of any issues. So, yeah, we love that as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

It was pretty straightforward overall, but there were some initial issues with the managed instance, but nothing we couldn't get past with the help of support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Extremely Detailed Monitoring That Massively Improved Our Query Performance"
5/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

Redgate monitor is great, it's extremely detailed and has enabled us to improve query performance massively. We have been able to diagnose issues faster, leading to reduced business downtime. The software is easy to use and highlights key information well. Interactions with Redgate staff have been good, any support has been quickly resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

The cost of Redgate is slightly high, and the customisation on user access controls could be improved with SSO or per-user login. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplified SQL Monitoring with Detailed Insights"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

I like Redgate Monitor for its simplicity of the user interface and the detailed information it provides. It's great for isolating problematic areas with its easy-to-understand interface. I also appreciate the details around the information it collects, especially for SQL locking and bad SQL statements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

The agent seems a little heavy, and I also find the custom reporting capabilities lacking. Additional alerting capabilities would be nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Monitoring with Stellar Support"
4/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

I like how Redgate Monitor helps us monitor resources and backups and also our system versions across our whole enterprise. I also appreciate the baseline reports on performance that assist us in seeing patterns. Additionally, when we had a few challenges with the initial setup, the representative from Redgate was able to help us work through them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

Nothing to add here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient monitoring to professionally oversee database operations."
5/5
What do you like best about Redgate Monitor?

What I appreciate most about Redgate Monitor is the good structuring, menu navigation, and functionality of the tool. The updates of the tool are very, very easy and quickly clicked through and done. The system does exactly what it is designed for, without unnecessary additional information or features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Redgate Monitor?

I find that the suspension of alerts during maintenance in RedGate Monitor is a bit hidden. Considering that it is actually a main feature during maintenance that one needs to use regularly, the positioning within the tool is not optimal. But with the current implementation, one can manage.
