It comes from Red Hat, so the support is one-stop. It handles all the repos we could want. It groups hosts flexibly enough for our needs. It runs overnight, so we don't waste time during the workday. It can integrate with Insights, though we don't use that. It will patch our hosts in AWS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It' a little opaque when there are errors, necessitating a support ticket. Sometimes the jobs lock up, which requires manual intervention. It won't patch CentOS, but we don't care since we have migrated off of that operating system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how licensing can be handled all in one place. I also like how different OS info and patch level can be identified from a central console. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like how the scope for the software is limited to RHEL. Although used primarily for RHEL systems, we are sometimes forced to incorporate other Linux based OS in our environment, such as CentOS or ubuntu. If we were to dedicate time to improve our configuration to primarily use Satellite for patch management then we would still have to find a different solution for patch management at large for other OS, such as ansible or puppet. If we were able to pull in those other servers with similar architecture, there would be a huge benefit for using Satellite as the central solution across the board. Their LDAP integration could use some work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

OS independent. Always the small and medium-size organization looks for a common tool for Windows and Unix/Linux patching/administration to reduce the operation cost in licencing/implementation/HW/maintenance/upgrade. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
