Also, it gives stability, security and compatibility across multiple operating systems. **What do you dislike about Red Hat Runtimes?** Red Hat OpenJDK is highly complex, so bit challenging for new users. Also, it's a resource-intensive application; meaning requires high processing power and memory. **What problems is Red Hat Runtimes solving and how is that benefiting you?** Red Hat Open JDK, being an open source, reduces platform fees for us. Also, its a high on performance and efficient for running and building java based applications. That removes our legal's concerns, and we can use the latest Java version. **What do you dislike about Red Hat Runtimes?** The biggest issue is that we will not get any support with the software, which is usually the case with open-source software. If we used the commercial JDK, we would not have to maintain it. **Recommendations to others considering Red Hat Runtimes:** If you have a dedicated DevOps team, then you can consider this option. Otherwise, if you have plenty of money, then the commercial JDK might be a better choice. **What problems is Red Hat Runtimes solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use OpenJDK to avoid legal issues with JDK versions higher than 8 of the commercial distribution. This version is free and open-source, which means we can simply instruct engineers to install it and use it without thinking too much with non-engineering stuff. ### 7. The fast learning process made this tool worth its while quickly. **What do you dislike about Red Hat Runtimes?** I ran into a few bugs where the application run times couldn't be used for the task which I originally thought they could. It could be a misunderstanding on my part but I found a few gaps in what I needed from the software and what projects I could apply it to in the end. **What problems is Red Hat Runtimes solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was moving some GUIs to the cloud and used RHOAR to help that process. It took the legwork out of migrating to the cloud, since I don't know how to do so by hand without software to help. ### 9. Cost of security maintenance and updates if full support is not available. **What problems is Red Hat Runtimes solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our principal Problem was stability, and We implemented a virtual machine to support the SAP R3 in our company platform. we migrated from windows server 2016 to Red Hat, and the most significant benefit is the stability of our business ### 10. Good support - atleast 6 years after major release 2. Major versions of JAVA - 7,8,11 3. Free and open source for enterprise edition software and production usage. 4. No proper support for older Linux versions 5 and 6 **What problems is Red Hat Runtimes solving and how is that benefiting you?** Redhat OpenJDK is free and open source.
