**What do you dislike about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

This product is not for all customers. The customer need a lot expertise to understand the configuration.

**What problems is Red Hat OpenStack Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The network is neutron, and that product need troubleshooting to fix the communication.

  ### 2. Telco Cloud Architect

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mustafa Abdel Hady R. | Telco Cloud and Networks Manager , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

Telco Cloud and data plane reliable. Integrates well in ETSI Model archiecture with VNF Manager

**What do you dislike about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

Upgrades are disruptive and very complex. Release life cycle is very short for carrier grade use cases.

**What problems is Red Hat OpenStack Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Can be expanded very quickly with scale out. Running virtual machines on the cloud with migration capability. Scales well for data plane with high capacity.

  ### 3. Cloud revolution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ahmed I. | Manager converged solution architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

We are using OpenStack in all the company virtualized clouds, I can say OpenStack is the best NFVI platform we had operated even with the cons I mentioned in my review below. OpenStack provides great performance and allows the easiest cloud and service expansion/scalability and overall the best choice for critical service and carrier-grade service providers.

**What do you dislike about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

We have OpenStack Version 13 installed 2 Years ago, our Cloud mainly depends on Red Hat product portfolio including Red Hat Ceph Storage, Satellite, Smart management, etc.., what I would say is that the upgrade path from v13 to 16 is very complicated even all the integrated products are Red Hat. The release upgrade has a lot of steps and each one takes a lot of time while the product life cycle is too short, it's not a streaght forward upgrade and has many workarounds. I would recommend Red Hat make some effort in this area and make release upgrades easier.

**What problems is Red Hat OpenStack Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the strength key of OpenStack is the clarity of integration, OpenStack allows us to weave out the headache of the integration complexity with third-party plugins, packages, and products.

  ### 4. Most reliable Cloud platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary S. | Sr. Engineer Telecommunications cloud, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

Red Hat OSP is the most reliable and stable cloud platform that can deploy over any infrastructure hardware, So with OSP you can combine and manage different hardware resources, networking, and Storage. OSP includes many modules that help in deploying run, rebuilding instances, and managing the infrastructure and the NFV over the hypervisor layers.

**What do you dislike about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

Red Hat has to add a self-monitoring component to be part of OpenStack and don't rely on third-party software. also, make the deployment and upgrades easier. also if I would say I hope Redhat to make the OSP life cycle more extended for the releases end of extended support.

**What problems is Red Hat OpenStack Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OSP is included in the RedHat subscription so with one Redhat subscription I can manage the product support, training, license, and all Redhat stuff, which is a very beneficial feature from RedHat.

  ### 5. Very powerful CMS (cloud management system) perfectly suitable for private cloud environment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Asad K. | Technical CARE Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

Redhat OpenStack is essential for enterprises because -

1. It is relatively cheaper than other cloud management systems (CMS) like VMware, Oracle, etc
2. Community-wide support & availability of support personnel in the market.
3. Security patches & additional features included as compared to the community version of OpenStack
4. Easy GUI & CLI to have a steep learning curve for the engineers who are maintaining the platform.

**What do you dislike about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

1. Frequent version upgrade which is very difficult for the customer to follow because the generally OpenStack is adopted by mission-critical applications like healthcare, Telcos, Banks, Govt organizations, etc.
2. Openstack is a combination of multiple individual projects (nova, neutron, cinder, etc) & so the accountability of fixing a software bug is somewhat dissolved as compared to a single organization.

**Recommendations to others considering Red Hat OpenStack Platform:**

Please do get clarifications on the support contract. Generally, the software itself is good but it is the support that comes under special conditions. I would personally recommend having a support contract that is independent of software version dependency & after providing the remote login the RedHat person should collect all the data by themselves i.e. customer should not be accountable to collect the data

**What problems is Red Hat OpenStack Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Compared with public clouds this is a one-time investment instead of a monthly/daily rental of services.
2. The infrastructure can be reused/converted several times for different requirements.
3. ROI is much better than public clouds for large deployments

  ### 6. GREAT PaaS solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nancy J. | Manager, Digital Innovation & E-Commerce, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

Red Hat OpenStack Platform is amazing while supporting our day-to-day operations for a long time neer to 6 years. It is great in terms of security and commands of execution time and operational cost. It is speedier enough to support carrier-grade traffic!!.

**What do you dislike about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

Red Hat OpenStack platform could be better if this comes with a handy guide to set it up. For a fresher. Also, one comment for the user's privilege while creating a new project has some limitation on making a specific assigned to the storage to determine if it is local or external.

**What problems is Red Hat OpenStack Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Red Hat OpenStack Platform provides secure and safe for the infrastructure hardware and applications stack. It can be attacked only if you don't follow the guideline properly.

  ### 7. Red Hat OpenStack review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

Easy to use and highly scalable. Good product support too

**What do you dislike about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

Dashboard UI needs a few minor improvements

**What problems is Red Hat OpenStack Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to save a lot of cost by replacing physical hardware servers by openstack. Instances can be spawned on need basis , unused stacks can be easliy deleted. Overall a great product , and saves a lot of Power and cost

  ### 8. RedHat OpenStack helps to build robust private cloud

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

The services provided by OpenStack along with the APIs to access them and integrate with code is the best part.

**What do you dislike about Red Hat OpenStack Platform?**

RedHat OpenStack takes huge memory to run, so it required devices with high configuration. But that is okay if we are building a private cloud.

**What problems is Red Hat OpenStack Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Built a private cloud that can be used to store extremely private on-premises. Also, for testing purposes, if we already have hardware available then building a private cloud will save the money to invest in the public cloud.

  ### 9. Red Hat OpenStack Platform Review
