What do you like best about Recurly?

Nothing besides comms with sales person. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recurly?

1) Technology is really outdated

2) Very limited capabilities of the product compare to their competitors

3) Recurly won't let you migrate to another provider as they store customers CC data and will make your life extremely difficult if you'll try to do so. We've been chasing them for 3 months to migrate our CC tokens and still got nothing (was a year ago) so we just lost our early customers (around +-$100k in value) and migrated to another provider. We were really lucky that we didn't expose ourselves to higher losses.

4) CS simply ignores tickets and doesn't care Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Recurly?

Very flexible API allows us to integrate tightly with our app. Very reliable too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recurly?

I wish they had more powerful support for sending renewal reminders. Their support for this is very basic and doesn't allow much customisation based on plans or recurring discounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Recurly?

Among many different best things with Recurly, I would like to mention the onboarding process and especially the amazing support we got from the onboarding team to transfer existing subscriptions smoothly from our previous platform to Recurly. The other challenge was the integration of 3DS and Apple Pay on our website, where we use Recurly JS and again we had professional assistance and detailed reports from Recurly's technical assistance team. What do you dislike about Recurly?

We had another checkout connect to the same PayPal account with Recurly, at some recurring payments from Recruly started to fail because PayPal prevented duplicated order IDs. We never got any notification about this from Recurly and noticed that too late, when we lost ~200k. I think a professional software like Recurly must be more careful and draw attention to similar things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Recurly?

Analytics dashboard and ability to export data

However, i feel there could be additional reports on offer. Quite often i have to export data and pull it into excel and build my own reports as there is some information I cannot get out of the box. Examples would be average subscription duration. Cohorted churn reports for day 1 churn, week 1 churn, month 1 churn, etc

I would also like to see churn broken down by plan plan type and ability to toggle between monthly and annual churn. Currently i have excel templates to calculate all these things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recurly?

The LTV calculation is currently broke - I have a support ticket open

The UI changes a few weeks ago - in my opinion i think it looks broke - i messages support to say it was missing a CSS style sheet

There are some gaps in the api - our engineers suggested in a retro that we move away from recurly due to the gaps and incomplete docs - the example in my mind is using the stair step pricing model via the api for a custom checkout with two dimensions to decide the pricing level - this seemingly was supported from the docs but the api didnt work and then your support team confirmed that to be the case Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Recurly?

They provide all options for setting up infrastructure of our subscription services with their powerful API. Our reason for choosing customization is its flexibility. Also, their payment retrying is effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Recurly?

We use 3rd party analysis tools. Actually, Reculry can provide more analysis tools to understand the data.
