I like how easy it is to set up accounts and subscriptions; it is straightforward to get Recurly setup and working. What I enjoy the most though, is the accessibility to the support team and how responsive and helpful they are. I dislike the limitations with invoices as far as what can be displayed on them. It would be nice if there were an "other" field so that I could add whatever vendor specific information is needed. I'd also like to understand the reporting better. We usually process the refunds on our Admin's Dashboard and sometimes we don't notice that the funds were refunded as a credit, not to the original method of payment. Really easy to manage client accounts, add and modify subscriptions, cancel subscriptions, and bill clients for one-time work outside of their subscription. We signed up many many years ago at a grandfathered rate. Now, they are trying to upsell us to upgrade to one of their new plans which seem to contain fewer features, and where addons such as "wallet," which allow you to store multiple credit cards per client account, cost an additional several thousand dollars per year. I also dislike the fact that Recurly has very few native integrations. Instead, they expect you to use recurly.js to develop your own. That's not realistic for a lot of smaller businesses. That plus the dashboard telling us true LTV and the ease of cancelling a subscription (while letting it dun out throughout the trial period) really was unique. Easy to integrate, working as expected with not many big pains. Customer support was helping too and with a good time to response. UI wise it's good, easy to manage. There is the successful payment answer even when transaction has been flagged for fraud prevention. So finally, the transaction could not be finally done and it's as successful in the system. Creating custom sign up pages requires a lot of web develpment. The other big downfall is that there is no global setting to raise prices on existing subscriptions. All subscriptions befome grandfathered in at the price they signed up for. I recently tried to increase subscription rates for over 2000 customers and found I would have to go into each account one by one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Recurly: Just make sure you really know what you are going to be needing and what data you are going to need to collect from your customers.
