I don't think that there is anything to dislike, the latest version of VNC Connect has addressed minor gripes I had before, some people don;t link the fact you have to set up port forwarding on routers, I prefer that you do as the admin is in control and not the end user. It's simple to use, easy to manage, and easy to deploy. You don't have to be an expert to use this application. If you have never used a remote access tool before then this is an easy one for you to lab up and understand the components and communications of remote access. VNC Connect advertizes strong security, but what do they mean when they say that? They mean they have options for strong encryption and authorization but don't do that by default. If you'd like to use this securely then you should have an expert on hand (not your neighbor's kid, but an expert in security and cryptography). Why? Because this solution is a direct access solution. This means if you want to compare it in the same realm as some of the other remote access solutions, then you need to be fair to where it falls short. Direct access solutions work if you deploy another product on top of that for privacy, plus dedicated jump servers, isolate them... It's just a lot of work to get to what other solutions provide natively. All VNC serves a purpose, but I never like seeing that purpose being for remote access. Any direct access solution brings the risk of whatever is on your remote computer into the environment, and that comes with a risk of cross-contamination. For this reason, VNC-based solutions should only be done within secure environments, and NOT "to access secure environments remotely". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We'd like to affirm that VNC Connect is a remote access solution for businesses. Thousands of leading organizations, operating across a range of industries, use and trust VNC Connect every day for secure remote device access and support.
You've also made a couple of comments regarding the security of VNC Connect that we’d like to address too.
Firstly, you say that “[VNC Connect has] options for strong encryption and authorization but don't do that by default”.
128-bit AES is the default, out-of-the-box setting for all our subscription types. It is enforced as standard, so non-encrypted connections will fail. Authentication is set to System Authentication (e.g. Windows Password) by default as well, meaning connections authenticate against the remote computer’s OS. Furthermore, only members of the remote computer’s "administrators" group have access via VNC Connect by default, further securing access. You can change this setting as an Administrator, but VNC Connect’s default setup is secure.
If you’re connecting via the cloud (which is required for any connections over the internet), then access must be made from a VNC Viewer signed into a RealVNC account (which has device authentication enabled by default, upgradeable to 2FA TOTP), and the user must be given discovery permission for the VNC Server(s) before they even hit the authorization layers above. Again, it’s a very secure setup.
Secondly, you say that "any direct access solution brings the risk of whatever is on your remote computer into the environment, and that comes with a risk of cross-contamination”.
VNC and Remote Frame Buffer (RFB) protocols transmit visual desktop updates (frame buffer/pixels) from the remote device (Server) to your computer (Viewer), and the Viewer sends keyboard and mouse events back to the Server. As such, there is no additional data channel that puts the two devices in direct communication.
Security is at the core of everything we do at RealVNC. We adhere to four fundamental security principles to ensure we build and offer a remote access solution that’s secure for customers. That commitment to security is also reflected in the recent security audit that VNC Connect underwent. The vigorous, independent white box audit by Cure53 (which you can read via the "See how VNC Connect improved" link below) found that, of 38 security-relevant discoveries, none were critical. Only three were deemed ‘high severity’ and they were fixed immediately.

See how RealVNC improvedThe best thing I like in Real VNC is screen sharing, which gives the same feeling as we are using our real computer. Even if we are using it virtually, the graphics are designed in such a way so that there is no difference with the non-virtual it gives the same feeling as we are using it real. I did not find any dislikes or problems with the Real VNC. The only thing I want to suggest is if we don't operate it through mobile, it's ok, at least give one application to mobile so that we can watch the machine if someone is working on it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
99% of the product is by the best as of its competitors. Hierarchy wise secure connection is the best feature of the application. And if you are using the free version of the software you can add upto 4 remote connections in your list with all the available features enabled. It is super easy to configure and use. Super easy to connect to and has phone app! Was going to setup a full remote connect in my computer but this was so much easier and didn't require our IT guy to come out and set it up. He was the one that recommended it and am grateful for that!
Wasn't sure how it would do with dual monitors, but it is easy to use and I haven't had any issues with it lagging or taking a long time to respond.
Though it is a little tough to use on a phone, well because it is a phone, it is still handy to be able to do something quick or access a file or folder I need to get some information from.
When we were just going to use remote connect on the computer, I was going to have to use the junk work laptop that is so old and has a bad battery, but now with vnc connect I can use it with my personal android phone, Surface Pro 7, my Toshiba laptop or my desktop with dual monitors. This is really handy and it is quick to login and see the computer and be able to work on it quickly and efficiently.
