It's simple and with one dedicated purpose, without flooding it's users with irrelevant features. Also it is easy to install and it doesn't create configuration-hell to the user. Another very good point of RealVNC is that it is cross platform, supporting the most popular OS's. **What do you dislike about RealVNC?** RealVNC doesn't state a lot about their security architecture. Furthermore. even the lowest encryption level comes with a price. Since they already have a free plan, they could include the lowest security level in this version to provide free users with some basic encryption. Leaving your users exposed to many attack scenarios, even they are using the free version, doesn't sound a very good policy. **Recommendations to others considering RealVNC:** RealVNC is appropriate for simple to intermediate tasks over VNC. If you are one user without many needs this is definitely the VNC client you are looking for. Although I haven't tried their Enterprise version I would say that there are better solutions when it comes to large scale remote access scenarios and administration. Maybe Enterprise RealVNC has some good features in that direction. I would suggest to first try the free version and if you need it in a team environment, ask from RealVNC for some demonstration or trial before you roll in to a paid plan. Of course examining other alternatives can only benefit you to make an informed decision. **What problems is RealVNC solving and how is that benefiting you?** RealVNC is very appropriate for simple usages. It may well have evolved since then but it definitely did not strike me as the most well thought out. The good thing was that I was able to establish a vpn connection. **What do you dislike about RealVNC?** Not sure if it was the type of connection I was trying to establish or if the GUI experience on the software was just not well thought out but I remember struggling quite a bit to make it work. **Recommendations to others considering RealVNC:** Haven't used it in a little while but I hope it is better than what I remembered. I would say try out windows remote desktop services or the native server connection on your mac before you try this, my impression was that you needed to have a bit more thorough network experience to really grasp the intricacies of this software. May be worth a try if you are willing to spend the time. As unsatisfied as I was, to be fair I never looked for support from the VNC team, who knows maybe my experience would have been much different. **What problems is RealVNC solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have never used it in a business setting, only to connect to home networks, for which I ended up going with windows native service if on a PC and with Apple (clunky) but built in "Connect to Server" option. ### 33. It is a very helpful software which allows you to both view and control a client's desktop, and has a lot of potential to be used for customer service and tech support. The service is usually quite fast with little input lag and good image quality. **What do you dislike about RealVNC?** The vast majority of available desktop options, especially the open source ones, are severely dated and unintuitive to use. Clients have to download 3rd party software which is not ideal for customer support. There are many limitations to the service, especially in the area of "broadcasting" to multiple viewers. There is a lot of inconsistency between open-source viewers and servers.
