I switched from Logmein to VNC Connect. It was cheaper, faster, and more user friendly. The transition was seamless. I was able to access all of my computers, even behind a firewall. Also, I love that the company "gives back", to provide free access to those people, including students, the tool to use their raspberry pi's remotely, to learn engineering and automation. Very well done. I've been using VNC since the early days - 10 years ago, and they really have improved. The multi-plateform support, including Linux, is just outstanding. Bravo. **What do you dislike about RealVNC?** There's really nothing. Keep developing and doing what you are doing. It supports 2 step verification using a mobile phone and stops passwords being used by unauthorized persons. It has an easy to use Admin Another feature it has is it allows grouping of Clients and restrictions for users to log into only certain groups of clients. A very helpful feature. Also allows remote printing, a must for all users to allow them to print out their reports. It also allows remote logout by the administrator and logs all usage stats for later analysis. **What do you dislike about RealVNC?** I dislike that the application has a separate web interface for managing the VNC Account rather than integrating it into the application. If the accounting info could be updated/changed in the application, rather than jumping to a http browser, then I think it would be more secure. **Recommendations to others considering RealVNC:** This product is secure, fast, has remote printing and allows easy group administration of clients. Remote sessions using VNC Connect on clients connected directly on the LAN subnet allows users from half way across the world to run their PGSQL apps with a fast and reliable response. First and foremost, the image quality and practically no noticable delay made me feel like I was working at my workstation when working from home. Other services suffered in this area which made it hard to use, even if other things were going well for it. From a small business stand point, I love that I can put my team in groups and allow access to certain works stations. This gives me peace of mind that people are only using the workstation they are supposed to connect to. The two factor authentication also lets me know that the username and password data can't be used by other people. **What do you dislike about RealVNC?** My only complaint is the lack of audio that transfers over the connection on a Mac. They have it for PC and I've been told they are working on it for Macs. Until then, we've been able to find a work around to route the computer's audio through Skype to make it work. But so far I have not seen any remote login software that supprots Mac audio, and Real VNC is the only one I know of that is working on it. **Recommendations to others considering RealVNC:** This is a great screen sharing solution for small businesses. It is affordable and easy to scale up as demand is needed. **What problems is RealVNC solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main problem it has solved in a reliable connection to work computers from home. Other software we have worked intermittently, and sometimes requires a computer restart if the connection failed. Obviously, this makes it impossible to depend on a remote connection when you need it. The Mobile App has also helps me work remotely on the train on my way home from work, saving me some valuable time while I started renders and exports that take time just waiting around. ### 8. The main application (the VNC Viewer) can help you use and control the remote computers which installed with the clients side application. The application lets you take control, help, view without interruption to the client. You can transfer files, print and chat very easy. Each time you connect to the remote computer, you have to enter password, which is an additional layer of security. I really recommend the use of this software, which has a lot of features. **What do you dislike about RealVNC?** Didn't find anything to dislike. Without it I would not be able to work from home as efficiently. I'm easily able to navigate the computer I am remotely logging into, and I like being able to do stuff like copy text from that remote machine to the one I'm on. I know I'm probably not a heavy/power user and don't use all of the more complicated features, but for my purposes of accessing my main computer from either another computer or my phone, this works wonderfully. Sometimes I have problems with the size of the screen and doing things like 'right click', but that's usually user error because I forget the gestures. **Recommendations to others considering RealVNC:** If you're looking for easy remote access, definitely consider VNC Connect. **What problems is RealVNC solving and how is that benefiting you?** I need to use both a MAC and a Windows computer simultaneously for work, and use a KVM switch to share a screen/mouse/keyboard. But bouncing back and forth via the KVM isn't always best or fastest for certain tasks, so I keep one computer open via Real VNC, so that my other computer is just in another window. This really helps me be more efficient, especially being able to copy text from one computer to another. I also log-in to the main computer with my phone when away or in bed, so I don't always have to have everything on my phone because I know I can just use Real VNC to jump on and get something or check something. I also need to use several different pop email accounts using Thunderbird, so it's easier to just log-in with Real VNC to check those accounts rather than having many different email accounts synced to my phone. ### 20. I run VNC to remotely connect to my work computer so I don't have to lug it around all the time in the event of a time-sensitive issue. I can quickly access my main computer at the office from any place with a "trusted" computer. To set up the connection works very easy. I have used it in Italy recently and it worked very smooth. Great tool for support and remote desktop **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Michael H. | Web Application Developer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2019 **What do you like best about RealVNC?** VNConnect (RealVNC) is an application to connect remotely with other computers that use a client or server that implements the VNC protocol, in my case I used RealVNC for everything since it was included in the license. Personally I found it a very useful tool that allows a very good quality of visualization without consuming much bandwidth and also running smoothly, this is something I could not achieve using other remote desktop applications so I obviously use RealVNC whenever possible. The management of the application can also be done through its website where we can also configure the equipment that uses our license or check our profile and billing data. **What do you dislike about RealVNC?** The only drawback I've found though is not something 100% RealVNC problem is that some computers are giving me problems to make a connection between a computer running Windows and another running Linux, for some reason the connection fails immediately, seems to be a firewall problem **Recommendations to others considering RealVNC:** I recommend that before buying the product you make use of the trial version that RealVNC offers on its website, there are 30 days in which you can check the operation of the application without any limitations.
