**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2025

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

RatedPower significantly accelerates the pre-design and feasibility assessment phase. It’s especially helpful for screening multiple land parcels and grid connection options in parallel across different geographies. The layout optimization, energy yield estimates, and BoQ outputs save us weeks of engineering effort. For someone leading grid interconnections across Europe, having a reliable tool that aligns with local standards and includes substation layouts is a huge plus.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

While RatedPower is great for early-stage design, it tends to fall short when pushing into detailed design for MV/HV interconnections. The software occasionally oversimplifies substation configurations, especially in countries like Germany and Italy where DSO requirements are strict. A deeper integration of grid compliance checks—like reactive power curves or voltage control strategies—would make it even more valuable.

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

I like how the software generates PV energy capacities much faster compared to other PV design tools that my team uses. Another standout feature is the user-friendly interface and its implementation. It’s easier to understand and even those who are not as familiar with the software can quickly learn how to navigate it. With the recently added PV layout edit feature, I can make edits more seamlessly although I hope there's gonna be a faster way to manually edit roads. Also, the fact that it’s web-based is a huge plus. It allows anyone on my team to access and view the different projects we design in real-time. In addition, I like that the software always offers webinars to discuss new features and updates for us to stay informed. Lastly, the support team at RatedPower has been helpful, especially when it comes to editing error designs.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

One of the things I've noticed is the software's generated cable lines and roads for the projects, they're somewhat long and that it doesn’t consider the shortest or most efficient route. Also, the software only allows for one road width to be generated. I’d really like the option to separate footpaths from the main roads, with the footpaths having a smaller width compared to the larger roads.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software has significantly improved the time we spend designing solar plant projects, as it operates much faster compared to other tools we’ve used. The speed with which it generates capacities has been a huge advantage as it generates capacities really quick. In addition, sharing projects with other team members has become much easier.

 ### 27. RatedPower is very useful for performing quick capacity assessments on new sites

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2025

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

The ability to automatically generate layouts in a short amount of time, to determine the approximate capacity of a site.
The freedom to update all key orientation parameters and even perform iterative designs i.e. for a number of different pitches or orientation.
The new layout editor tool seems useful too for making finer edits.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

Not particularly easy to integrate into autoCAD when going from an early stage design to a more detailed design.
The solar yield assessment is not bankable in the same way that PVsyst is.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of having to manually perform a detailed design for a new parcel of land that comes in I can very quickly perform a high level capacity assessment on the parcel. This allows me to quickly respond to the land/development team to let them know how to proceed, as well as giving an early indication of revenue generation potential.

**Official Response from Emilio García Sánchez:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback on RatedPower! We're thrilled to hear that you find the platform useful for quick capacity assessments and appreciate the features like automatic layout generation and the ability to update orientation parameters.

We understand your concerns about integration with AutoCAD and the solar yield assessment, and we are continuously working to improve our platform to better meet your needs. In these two regards:
— Detailed design: We recently launched Layout Editor (https://help.ratedpower.com/s/article/how-to-use-the-layout-editor-tool?language=en_US) which allows you to tweak the parametric design and customize the layout. You can export the layout in dwg file format and refine again in any CAD tool.
— Bankability: Here you have a report by Black & Veatch. They reviewed RatedPower and compares it to PVsyst in 3 real-life scenes. https://to.ratedpower.com/ebooks/bv-pvsyst/

Your input is valuable to us, and we would love to follow up with you to gather more details on how we can enhance your experience with RatedPower. Thank you for choosing RatedPower and Enverus to streamline your capacity assessments and design processes!

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

I use rated Power Daily, me and my team. and makes our job faster.
It is immediate to start, intuitive, integrated with Google Earth.
Easy to import and to exchange with other tools.
immediate output of files and reports.
VERY FAST Customer support. in 2 days they reply you. Fantastic.
Easy to implement even if you are not a "strong engineer"

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

Error too generic, it should be specific and in a "intuitive" language.
few possibility to personalize the electrical layout if you have many portion of land. Indeed every portion is expected to go to the step up individually, but i want to make in-out from a portion to the other and then to the other..
BESS should be possible to custumaze better the distance among PCS and batteries and between batteries and batteries

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i can forget easy and stupid things

**Official Response from Emilio García Sánchez:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with RatedPower! We're thrilled to hear that our platform has made your daily work faster and more efficient. ### 30. Useful for university work

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2024

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

For me, the PVDesign program is quite helpful when it comes to seeing how a solar plant can work and how to size it. When doing projects at the university, it is easier to see than simply doing calculations by hand. Additionally, its integrated functions that can automatically choose the best configuration on the terrain are the best. Not having to check every detail makes it more interesting than some programs that only create the solar plant as you indicate.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

It's a bit confusing if you try to start the software on your own. It would be good to have some kind of automated chat to ask questions or standardized guides to have a quicker start.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dimension solar projects and their characteristics, which is useful at the university level to see what characteristics they should have without making infinite iterations.

 ### 31. Minimal steps and less time consuming.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MOHAMED S. | O&M Supervisor , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2025

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

Requires only very less time for designing an PV Power plant.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

Customization of designs needs to be improved.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initial phase of design takes less time and easy to modify main parameters.

**Official Response from Emilio García Sánchez:**

> We're glad to hear that you find RatedPower to be time-saving for designing PV power plants. We recently launched Layout Editor (https://help.ratedpower.com/s/article/how-to-use-the-layout-editor-tool?language=en_US) which gives you much more flexibility and customization options for the parametric design outcome.

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

The best about RatedPower is how quickly you would test or design a project and have a good background of its execution.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

The least helpful is the cost estimations.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the primary confusion of any project which if it is worthy or not especially for project developers. It benefits me by comparing between different features and factors affecting projects executions easily.

 ### 33. Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

The software is still in development of its features, whose use is currently extremely limited, while the demands of engineering design are much more complex. I believe it will soon be a strong competitor!

 ### 34. Satisfied with the details and liberty of configurations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2025

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

I like the facility it provides for uploading data sheets and models of panels, inverters... So I can work easily with a great variety of them, making my custormers satisfied. Also the interactive map showing where or where not I can install the panels, grouped by strings.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

I dont really like the team-work facility, the fact that if im modifing a project and my partner cant work on the same version doesn´t convince me.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows to calculate the data about production, orientation and distribution itmediatly, I really like that.

**Official Response from Emilio García Sánchez:**

> Thank you for sharing what you like best about RatedPower. We understand your concern about the team-work facility and will work on enhancing the collaboration features for a better user experience.

 ### 35. Too "technical" for a non technical personnel, too few "technical" for a technically skilled worker

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2025

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

It is quick for low level site assesments

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

It is under constant development, but only scratching the surface. Over-ambitious but never reaching a clear goal.
The real focus of the company is sales (which are really good at it). However, other products availalbe are much better in performance and, especially, price-wise. Rated Power is bloody expensive.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

too expensive for what is offered

 ### 36. Very easy to use and have clear instructions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria Jesusa Gel J. | Solar Civil Design Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2024

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

It is a time conserving app and the parameters you input is very easy to understand

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2025

**What do you like best about RatedPower?**

It's easy to deal with the ui isn't complicated, the equipment data is wide and other equipments can be added manually, it's a fast paced design platform so good specially in preliminary design stage. Provides yield analysis without any need for third party apps

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

The yield analysis output and the PR are less than the actual it's not so bad as long as you know that your actual numbers are higher, the cabling method isn't good and there is no option to prevent cables from crossing restricted areas, the new add in the edit layout tool doesn't edit the most important part of the layout which is cabling.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps creating different deaigns with different configurations in no time ad team can work in parallel

**Official Response from Emilio García Sánchez:**

> We're glad to hear that you find RatedPower easy to use and user-friendly. We appreciate your feedback on the yield analysis and cabling method, and we'll take it into consideration for future improvements, especially around Layout Editor. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

It is very fast for testing different project configurations and obtaining the maximum peak power or possible yield with a given equipment. It also helps to quantify the necessary materials and work, and to make a quick financial model. They have good customer support.

**What do you dislike about RatedPower?**

It is a bit rigid, as it does not allow designs to be adjusted according to one's own criteria. Now they are testing a tool that allows detailed editing of the layouts, but it is paid separately.

**What problems is RatedPower solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't understand this question

**Official Response from Emilio García Sánchez:**

> Thank you very much for your review, Antonio! We are glad that RatedPower helps you go faster with your tests on the configurations of your PV plants, storage, and hybrid layouts.
