Ranorex helps speed up the automation process and good to get upto speed with quickly. Its easy to learn and pick up but has the ability to enhance functionality by manually adding user codes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Ranorex Studio? It has some quirks around not being able to certain things which are limited by design. These are generally possible in a selenium coding environment but obviously take longer to create. also, it doesn't support flutter for mobile app testing. The other major issue that we keep hitting is Ranorex requires access to the gui aspect of window. So unlike with Selenium, where you can to a degree continue to use your machine for other activites, it requires full control of your machine. This means your local machine (if running tests locally) will be redundant for the duration of your test run. The other issue relating to this is it seems to be a nightmare to actually get this working with Jenkins. The machine need to be run with a Jeenkins node but requires it to be a physical machine. We tried various virtual solutions but as our test pack is heavily image validation oriented is seems to be impossible to get a clean run on a virtual machine without spending thousands to create a real-like virtual machine (at which point its cheaper to buy a real machine). another issue we are facing is multiple users working with Ranorex is a nightmare, doing code review, code completion etc. we always have a nightmare when it comes to code merge time, its usually the most scariest time know full well someone will likely loose all their work and we will have to rebuild the tests Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. But what I mostly disklike is the fact that every time i create a new project i have to change the target CPU when i want to execute it with an Agent , becaouse otherwise Ranorex Studio is failing to start the BIT BRIDGE or somthing like that ( I don't remember the exact error message ) . My last thing i do nt like about Ranorex Studio is the fact that if I start Ranorex with the Desktop Shortcut , which is created by Ranorex, it always starts with the 32 BIT Version the therfore most of my test can not finde the modules in our software. But after introducing the applications on multiple entreprise I confirm that the cost of maintenance and work needed are less than the initial cost of the applications for similar work with other product. Easy to use but with great advanced features when you start to dig down into the software. Any time I ran into something I didn't know how to do then the support team were right on the ball with how to help me, including clear to follow instructions and examples. Anyone can start using the software with no coding experience required. Ranorex even includes multiple helpers built in to aid with the most common use cases. Simple functionality for selecting objects within the app using the Ranorex Spy tool. Building the test cases is done almost entirely without code which is great for users who are not developers. There are a couple of features which other automation platforms have which aren't in Ranorex in standard, such as the ability to clear the app cache using pre-existing functionality. This can be worked around with using ADB and some minor coding though. Could do with more options regarding if/else/while test situations as these mostly have to be dealt with by writing C# code as opposed to using the existing tools. JIRA integration could be better. Data binding concept are not very user freindly to use. When ever we open ranorex it is asking the Admin rights to open. due to this to use ranoex person should have admin rights which it team will not give admin access. Not always stable, some of the new technologies are not supported. Not cutting-edge like some other test automation software. Mobile testing is not good. Not really supporting selenium.
