Radar is a location intelligence platform that product, engineering, fraud, and marketing teams use to verify user location, track real-world activity, and add maps and address features to their web and mobile apps. Teams integrate Radar through native SDKs for iOS and Android, a JavaScript SDK, and REST APIs. The platform is built around three solutions. Protect verifies user location and detects fraud, including GPS spoofing, VPN and proxy use, impossible travel, account takeover, and promotion abuse, along with geo-compliance checks in regulated markets. Optimize tracks pickups, deliveries, and field operations with arrival detection, live ETAs, and job management. Engage sends location-triggered push notifications and in-app messages, and builds audience segments from real-world visit history. Underneath those solutions sits Radar's core infrastructure. The geofencing platform delivers meter-level accuracy and unlimited geofences. The maps platform provides vector base maps, forward and reverse geocoding, IP geocoding, address autocomplete, address validation, places search, and routing APIs. Radar Reveal uses device and network intelligence to flag risky web and mobile sessions before signup, login, KYC, purchase, or withdrawal, with the option to step up suspicious sessions to precise location verification. Common use cases include geo-compliance for regulated products, fraud detection at account and payment events, curbside pickup and order ahead, delivery and workforce tracking, store locators, address entry in checkout and onboarding forms, and nearby notifications. Radar is used in financial services, retail, restaurants, gaming, travel and hospitality, and logistics. Founded in 2016, Radar works with companies ranging from early-stage startups to the Fortune 500, including bet365, DICK's Sporting Goods, RBC, Sleeper, Avis, and PGA TOUR. Because of geofencing, we're able to get in front of users as they are entering a gas station and can send timely messages to them about actions we want them to take at stations. Radar has helped us segment our audience based on where they are and what they are visiting. We've turned out location based marketing to get retail deals in front of users as well. What problems is Radar solving and how is that benefiting you? We needed a way to remind our customers when they were nearby our merchant partners, while maintaining their data privacy. With the Radar SDK, we were able to gather not only the most accurate geofence data versus any competitor, but also incredible insights about how and when our customers were using our app. It feels like the Radar team is constantly building out new functionality to support use cases we hadn’t even considered yet. Radar's API was awesome to work with, and had great documentation. The service itself worked extremely well (better than competitors) in practice also. I can't really say I disliked anything about the service. I can see people maybe not wanting to receive so many events, but that's very easy to code around or tweak settings to avoid. We wanted to know when users were close to a location that they could spend money at one of our supported retailers. We could then remind the user to shop there.
