The best part about Quid is the fact that it outputs an extremely useful insight on how the world is viewing a certain topic. It provides details that can not be easily obtained by just 'googling', and the search terms and search conditions are very easy to modify. It is highly likely that you can obtain the information you need when searched appropriately. The features like timeline, sentiment analysis, etc would highlight key trends that is necessary for the researcher to delve further. The visualisation is powerful, and easy to modify with regards to organising clusters and sub-clusters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Quid? The one thing that I would appreciate Quid improving is the naming of the cluster. I understand the naming of clusters to be such that the longer and precise the names of clusters are, the better. For example, it is far more useful to name a cluster "applications of AI to reduce false negative rates in fraud detection in banking operations" rather than just "AI in banks". I sometimes find that Quid does not name clusters in the most precise way. Although this is understandable due to the nature of how it works, it makes the researcher hovering over each dot (article) in the cluster and trying to identify what the cluster is actually talking about. As far as I understand, the outputs of the clusters also provides a list of keywords that commonly appear in the cluster, and it is not unusual to find more insightful words in the list of keywords than the default names. Now, whereas this may be due to the result of using poor search terms failing to output detailed clusters, I would appreciate if the naming of the clusters are reviewed so that there can be ways where the naming of the clusters can be improved to better highlight the contents of the articles. Recommendations to others considering Quid: I think Quid is extremely useful for student projects at university level, particularly in business courses that take part in consulting projects. It allows one to easily understand the overall topic of the project in a meaningful way, which tends to be hard with little experience and limited access to resources. Quid would solve such problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Quid solving and how is that benefiting you? I have used Quid on about 10 project over the course of my 3 year university degree. The projects included various consulting-like projects that analysed the impact of a technology on a company or on an industry. I have also used Quid in my dissertation project where I analysed an expansion opportunity of a business in a new location. In such projects, Quid was very useful to understand the 'big picture', such as understanding the range of applications that the technology is involved in, analysing how the industry already applies the technology, or evaluating the nature of the market in new target locations. It provided me with benefits of understanding the, so to say, the list of all applications of a certain technology or any kind of topic within the relevant field. For example, the list of all applications in the world where AI is used in banking processes. You be hard-pressed to find a similar tool that enables you to do as much as NetBase, while also being as user-friendly. NetBase is intuitive enough that you can pick it up and start using it, and expansive enough that we're constantly finding valuable new ways to use it. The software provides many in-depth methods of breaking down large data sets—by key terms, authors, domains, language, geography, and much more. This gives you many different options for how you want to view or examine the data, which aids in both analyzing the data and understanding it (something that is vital to us). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Quid? Any nitpicks I have are mostly with how the system could be better to meet our company's specific needs. Because we read through long streams of social data, it would be nice to have the entire stream appear at once without having to click the “load more” button (saving precious time). Recommendations to others considering Quid: To unlock the full capabilities of NetBase, you have to get to know the system. That requires an investment of time and effort since there are a lot of different features packed in here. We use NetBase to capture large volumes of consumer conversations related to specific topics, products or brands, read through those conversations to identify key behaviors and insights, and share those findings with our clients. Netbase has many benefits for this purpose—including the ability to incorporate different sources from across the web, recall posts and discussions going back years, and break down the data into visual and digestible chunks. NetBase provides many ways to analyze and dissect data, with a broad range of filters that allow users to examine data across a variety of variables. It provides our teams with quality insights - both quantitative and qualitative. I think one of our most-used features is the cross-tab analysis, to assess share of voice across competitors and compare them across a number of topics across healthcare. Using this functionality also lets us see trends over time, and dive into assessments of when/why certain brands see more activity. Additionally, we find the sentiment drivers are helpful for our work in the healthcare space, in seeing what drives sentiment among patients, advocates and the medical communities. The platform takes some time to become familiar with; it's not as intuitive when you first get started, e.g. remembering to clear a filter from your analysis to reset after taking a closer look at one area. NetBase is a leading social listening tool that differentiates itself from traditional social monitoring tools by helping marketers create engagement strategies by accurately capturing social conversation (whether text, slang, emoji or image), applying an array of sentiment drivers, analysis widgets and themes which can be directly compared against competitors. From a user perspective, the visual interface is intuitive, easy to learn and use. The topic tuner’s ability to disambiguate and filter out spammy content is invaluable and best-in-class. Once topics are defined, they can be analyzed through many different analysis widgets (authors, channels, demographics, language, popular media/posts, sentiment, sentiment drivers, source, geo-fence, GPS, word clouds, etc.). Competitive analysis is also facilitated through brand passion, cross-tab, side-by-side, timeline and topic comparison widgets. The out-of-the-box functionality and self-learning program for this SaaS is scalable in sophistication and should also resolve governance issues, especially for lean resource teams.
