While it does have a bit of a learning curve, once you get used to it, I find it easy to navigate and use. There has NEVER been a time that I have not been the first person in queue when I visit the chat room, and I usually have my answer to my challenge within 2-3 minutes. The ability to import data makes setup, updates, etc. so much easier and less time-consuming. Customer service is top-notch. Live chat gives you the option to talk to someone in real time, and if you need to schedule a call or meeting with a member of their team, it is simple to set that up as well. All in all a great experience with QuickSchools, our school has been using it since 2018. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** No dislikes at this time. When we need a function or module that is not a part of the main subscription, we have been able to make things work with an app. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** QuickSchools is always helping us problem solve new needs that come up. Our service representative has worked patiently and tirelessly with us to help meet the unique needs of our school. For example, we have been able to set up custom report cards and transcripts, cutomize gradebook and attendance settings, and use custom fields and forms to collect and store data. We are also so appreciative of the on-demand chat, which has helped us tremendously with immediate issues and off-hours questions. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** There are some features that are not featured, or are not featured in the standard package and must be purchased via the app store. For example, there are some summary data that would be useful to see without running reports. Additionally, some customization features are possible, but not optimum. For example, we are able to use the custom fields section to meet our unique attendance tracking system, but the format and presentation isn't customizable as we would like. Additionally, given that there are so many data points (number grades for each students and each class), there have been mistakes in populating report cards and transcripts from the gradebook. This entails a close review of all reports before final printing and distribution. However, the QuickSchools support staff has supported us in fixing these errors. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** I highly recommend QuickSchools to schools looking for an accesible online grading system, complete with options to generate custom report cards and collect forms. It has been fairly straightforward training teachers and staff to use the program, and this has enabled a relatively smooth onboarding. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have used quickschools for the gradebook feature, to help teachers record and calculate marks; for the report cards feature - QuickSchools has worked with us to develop a beautiful custom report card that automatically inputs data from gradebooks; registration and enrollment using add on online forms. **Official Response from Jemaimah Mustapha:** > Hi Davita! The team is always there for you and helps you in every way possible. It is already easy to use the website for every stakeholder, but the support makes it much more convenient. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** There are no useless features. The developers anticipate the needs that most schools might have and are trying to solve the issues as they come up. The only thing I would like to add is the archive system for the information. The previous years' data can be changed, and there are no indications that there were any changes made if you have not already downloaded the transcripts/report cards from the system and compared them to the new ones. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Quickschools for most of our day-to-day activities in school, such as homework management, grading, creating reports, communicating with teachers, students and parents. The report cards and transcripts can be a bit cumbersome to set up. With regards the small telco charge for text and voice messages: The telco charges for the time being is unavoidable as we rely on third party service providers to manage the SMS and voice delivery. That said we hope the convenience and efficiency this added feature brings overcome the small per use charge that comes with it. We find schools gain so much from being able to create lists on the fly for various groups in their schools and communicate effectively via multiple channels with families. That said, we have released our mobile app which is downloadable free on the App Store and Google Play Stores. The QuickSchools native messaging feature extends to these apps. Users of the parent and student portal who install the app will get a notification on their smartphones when you send messages or complete an action (subject to your settings). I'm happy to show this to you. This is available absolutely free of charge. :-) With regards the report cards and transcripts setup: I apologize you found that experience suboptimal. I will bring this up with our product and onboarding team to see how we can onboard new clients well consistently. This year I've messaged parents through the program more than I have in the past by creating templates for different classes. The new Assignments feature has been able to really help many of our customers to get on a simple, easy-to-use LMS system especially in these harrowing times where schools have to go remote overnight due to Covid-19. The Assignments bring together the best of QuickSchools features between Gradebook, Homework and the Parent and Student portals. We aim to complete the annotation feature in the near term whereby teachers can assess written submission directly on screen and save that. The grading element is built it like I mentioned earlier so this will push the grade given straight into the gradebook, saving so much time for teachers. 2. Please check Home by QuickSchools and in the near future, "Class by QuickSchools" on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Because we are using the period-based attendance, the absences and tardies on the report card show numbers based on periods. Thankfully, we have been able to have Quick Schools correct this issue for the transcript which is what is the most important. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** I recommend that you check all of the features to determine whether Quick Schools is a good fit for your school. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** We wanted semester exams and final exams to be figured into the overall grade rather than attached to a semester. I like the fact that the SIS interface is customisable and we were even able to build and incorporate our own applications into the framework. The cost of the models being customised is appropriate. Overall, the output / cost ratio is outstanding. Customer service responds with questions immediately or quite soon after we email, and they are very good at solving problems or fixing slight errors. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** I wish that attendance on the report card could be reported as real absences and tardives. Since we're using period-based attendance, the report card's absences and tardies display period-based statistics. Fortunately we were able to get Swift Schools to fix this transcript issue, which is the most important one. Some of the functionalities we might use are absent, or there are the functionalities that are somewhat restricted for our specific usage. However, I find that most SIS providers have this problem, and even though they provide all of the features (at huge prices), they still don't completely satisfy our needs, so Quickschools isn't a big issue. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** This product is very easy to use, it greatly improves communication with teachers. that's why I recommend its use. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** We decided to include semester exams and final exams in the overall grade rather than being attached to a semi-annual. That has taken some time, but we're glad we've solved that. QuickSchools has helped us to customize our report card templates numerous times, creating multiple cross referencing reports in several different fields for our students and staff alike. They are very responsive to customer requests. The biggest problem I have is that report cards have to be massaged every quarter to render properly. I use it often. :) Getting immediate answers to my questions and not having to submit tickets that may take hours or days to get answers to is a great time-saver. They are extremely friendly, very responsive and resourceful. If something is not available, they always follow up with an email on their findings. They are willing to consider functions not currently available that I would sometimes find helpful by forwarding to their developers. They are always looking to improve. I also like the intuitive aspect of how the admin is set up. It's very functional and has a great lay out. It's a plus that each feature comes with a video tutorial easily accessible on each page to help walk you through how to use it. In comparison with other SMS- QS is aesthetically appealing. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** Not able to administer virtual assignments or exams. Some integration with Google Classroom would be helpful. Some pages do not speak to each other, for instance, for some reason sometimes grades don't carry over to the transcripts and you have to manually update items. I'd like to be able to customize the attendance feature more by including an automated RFID entry option, however, this type of customization comes with a large cost. The discussion board does not timestamp. Class Discussion board can use some updating. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** We are an institution of higher education. I think QS is good for k-12, and higher ed institutions. It's great for daily use by teachers, admin and students. All it's features do what you need them to do, and do it well. My only drawback would be the cost, however, we are looking into whether or not QS is on par with other SMS vendors or if there's a more cost effective provider out there for our needs. Overall, I highly recommend QS. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use QS for it's Gradebook, Attendance, Global Course Set Up, Transcripts, Report Cards, and Finance features. Though there are some pluses, it would be nice to have payment plans and reminders customized for finance, and a more cost-effective automated attendance tracking feature. The students are easily able to access their grades and report cards. It is great that it computes averages and allows you to managing marking periods with relative ease. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** With the COVID 19 turn to virtual schooling, there was not a successful way for students to hand in assignments using QuickSchools. Having many platforms to have to use: one for grades/homework another systems for students' emails and video chats and then another system for handing in work made it very confusing for parents and teachers alike. It is nice to have averages measured and grading times are fairly simple to handle. It's a big time saver to get instant responses and to not have tickets to get responses that require hours or days. They are really polite, sensitive and insightful. They should also send an email with their results if anything is not there. They are prepared to accept things that are not accessible at present and that can also help me give them to their developers. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** The move from COVID-19 to virtual education rendered it difficult for students to use QuickSchools to effectively complete their work. It became quite difficult for teachers to have many tools to use: one for grades / house assignments, a new student email program and video chat and also a separate job submission method. It would be awesome if QuickSchools built a way to adjust assignments. Exams and simulated tasks can not be performed. Any Google Classroom incorporation will be beneficial. For starters, for whatever reason, some pages do not interact with each other, often grades are not transcribed and items must be changed manually. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** For its relative ease of use and outstanding customer support, I suggest QuickSchools when you have difficulties. It's fine, I guess, for any school. Ideal for instructors, administrators and students daily use. All your tasks do and see what you need them to see. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tracking success of students is also simpler because it becomes better to see whether action is required since all instructors are completing a student 's degree under one method. QuickSchools maintains documents much more accurately than paper storage. We use it for gradebooks, registration, regional class settings and financial functions. Transcripts, report cards. As a school administrator, I find it easy to navigate and to access school data. Generating tailored reports for the school districts we serve (we are a Supplemental Education Organization) is largely effortless using QuickSchools. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** In all honesty, I have contemplated this question at length, but I have not found anything to dislike about QuickSchools grade book platform; as an administrator, I have used others, so I am able to compare among several experiences in the past. I am very pleased with QuickSchools and plan to use the program going forward. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** Staff adapt to it quite easily. Parents and students access it readily. It is easy to set up at the start of the school year for admins. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** The most challenging problem for us has been detailed grade reports for our client school districts. I find it very easy to put these reports together at a moment's notice. This is of enormous benefit as we service homebound students and summer school students who are mainstreamed back into their district schools and we provide the academic report or context for re-integration. Parents and students are able to monitor progress in real time, which is an important tool. Finally, it was very easy for my staff to transition from our last grade book system to this one. The online grading books for teachers include many modules (students, students' admissions, attendance, grading books, report cards, transcripts, etc.) which feature the same features as large companies' gradebook systems. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** I don't find it as easy as we need to customize the system. We have several grades in one class, for instance. Each level has its own template for the report card. Classes are mapped on the report cards. We need to split the Gradbook into many grade books, the only way to accurately map the class to various templates. It seems that we always have some technical problems when I print the report cards, and something does not flow straight from the gradebook. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** For anything that is easy to set up SIS, teachers find it very convenient to use. If you want to see something else. I can recommend the use of this product for many different modules that you can integrate. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** Help us to customize our unique school report cards. During operation of report cards, we have specific needs always, and fast schools are always there to help our personalization needs. We also asked for integration with the Apple School Manager and are developing the customization based on the requirements for ASM upload. The gradebook is fairly easy to use and intuitive. The chat feature is a great help for all of our staff. For the most part, most of the tech support is helpful. I would like to name Yanni and Justin as being the most helpful on chat. Also, Ezekiel is amazing getting back to us and finding solutions to our issues. The ability of being able to email whole classes at once is amazing! Although we have not used it, I like that there is an option of a self paced gradebook. On report cards and in the discipline module, it is nice that we can write freely in the comment sections. Easy for an admin to switch amongst teacher's gradebooks. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** Attendance, report cards do not speak to transcripts, scheduling module is tedious. We have found that attendance is simply horrible and does not work well with our school. We can't wrap our minds around it. Gradebooks seem not to autosave so it is important that you remember to save otherwise you could lose an entire column such as a test. The report module is a bit difficult to navigate and doesn't always seem to work the way I believe it should. There is no search feature in the messaging module and the entire staff can see what I have emailed out. The inability to work on two different report card terms at the same time. Semester Grades should be part of Term 2 report card instead of a separate section. Would like an option to lock gradebooks when certain admins are looking at them. It seems like QuickSchools is still in the beginning of being all it can be. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** For now, I would recommend QuickSchools to a small school and understand that they are still working through some issues. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** The staff is typically very helpful in coming up with solutions to our issues. The outstanding, round the clock customer service is major benefit for us educators who often find ourselves working during the wee hours of the morning. Given that our organization is small, we also like that we are charged monthly. Furthermore, those charges are wholly dependent on the number of students enrolled, therefore the smaller, the less cost incurred. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** Overall, I really like Quickschools. If I absolutely had to choose something it would be a detail when adding grade levels, which is a bit counterintuitive, because it is in the student section as opposed to the classes and homeroom section. However, for most others this is less relevant on an annual basis since grade distribution is traditionally the same in conventional schools. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** This product is especially useful for small schools looking for a management system. Especially one that is efficient with ease of use for all users. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quickschools allows for improved communication as well as more family and student involvement. The implementation of this program truly strengthens community. There is the ease of managing classes and grades, billing, after school clubs and activities, even homework with teacher, student and parent portals all in one system. There is also ease of communication within each of the aforementioned portals and an interface which encourages messaging. ### 37. Whenever you have a question or need help or how to format an item, the chat feature is absolutely wonderful! **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** It can be hard to remember to reset my grading system for the different grades when I print report cards. But once you learn that, it's just remembering to do it. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** Having a customer service feature makes this a step above everything else. Because running a school has so many features to learn, there is just no way to learn it all in one go and things come up continually that you have to figure out. And instead of searching through trial and error or reading through tons of material, it is so much more efficient to speak to an expert through their chat feature and learn right away. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quick schools handles all my grades, attendance tracking, fee tracking for tuition for parents and sending statements out, I can print out a variety of different reports to help me see account balances, absences or student and parent information for the teachers. ### 38. Quickschools always has chat open, they respond immediately, and every one of them is very knowledgeable. This saves me time as a teacher. With most chats I frequently use, I usually test the waters with a few questions to see if the person I got is knowledgable, and leave the chat in order to get someone else if they know less than me. I never have to do that with quick schools. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** I don't really dislike anything that quick schools offers. I guess in a perfect world it would offer the option of becoming the teacher planbook, homework submission/grading platform. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** If you don't see something you need, just ask. When we started with quickschools, there were a couple things we needed to do that quickschools didn't offer. They quickly added it for us. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quickschools allows us to integrate with our LMS to import grades. This saves time for the teacher. It creates reports, easily accessible to all teachers for adding comments. One huge benefit is that it has simplified a crazy school/teacher schedule. Because we are an online and on-campus school, the class schedules can be difficult to manage. But quickschools generates individual student/teacher schedules to make this run smoothly. ### 39. I also enjoy being able to have my gradebook available at my fingertips. One feature that really helped is the visual of the attendance chart. Many parents don’t pay attention to lateness but when they have a pie chart they see how often their child is late. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** I HATE that every time I have to call I need to do the captcha. It is very annoying. Some of my staff are visually impaired and they need to get assistance while using it. It incorporates many modules (students, admissions, attendance, grade books, report cards, transcripts, etc.). The online chat folks are very quick to respond and for the most part, they can resolve any issues and answer questions fairly quickly. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** I find that the system isn't as easy to personalize as we need. For example, in one class we have several grade levels. Each grade level has their own report card template. The report cards are mapped to classes. The only way to correctly map the class to several different templates, we need to separate the grade book into several different grade books. That stinks for the teacher, as they have to flip between 2 or 3 grade books to enter grades for one class. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** If you're looking for a easy to set up SIS, something the teachers will actually find easy to use, then look no further. With their choice of customizations and many different modules you can incorporate, this is a great little SIS! **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** QuickSchools helps us customize report cards for our very unique school. We always have specific needs during running report cards, and Quickschools is always available to help with our customization needs. We've also requested integration with Apple School Manager, and are working out the customizations based on ASM upload requirements. Once this is seamless, it will benefit us in the cost of man-hours needed to integrate manually. ### 41. On top of that, they are always patient and encouraging. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** We have a unique situation as a University-Model school. Our K-5 students attend T/Th and our secondary students attend T/Th/F. Because of this, we could only use the scheduler for our secondary students. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** Quick Schools is perfect for smaller schools looking for a system with unique requirements. If their support staff doesn't have a solution, they will investigate and follow through with a solution if at all possible. The cost for QS is affordable, which is great for a school on a limited budget. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had some unique circumstances in our high school courses. We offer a variety of classes: 2 semester, 1 semester, honors, AP, and dual credit. Some classes are weighted as well. The QS team developed a unique transcript that works well for us. ### 42. When I started 2 years ago, I began in the middle of the school year so it was "catch up" for me. It is very user friendly and the customer service is exceptional. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** It is not always obvious where information is located in the program. Would like it if when a student graduates, it is easier to find that student. Usually need to send transcripts, etc and they don't automatically pop up. Is there a way to make a screen with all the graduates and year of graduation that would last approx. six months. Also, do not like that graduation date/date left school are not separated. Colleges want the actual graduation date, but it shows as left school. We have had to manually enter in order for it to show graduation date. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** I do not think I can answer this question thoroughly because I am so new to using this program. Right now, every new item I learn in the system is a benefit. ### 43. I used to do all of this work in Excel; QS has saved me hours of work and stress, while producing excellent results. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** Any time we dislike something about QS we share the feedback, and they make the changes. We have been with QS for 3.5 years, and they have innovated continually to meet our needs. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** The Help Desk Support in QS is outstanding. We get immediate results and support 24/7 at all of our sites across the country. We use two languages and that alone narrowed down our search for school software. Our students have limited English, as do some of our teachers, but QuickSchools is very intuitive and has a smooth user interface so it has been easy for them to use. Having a cloud-based program means students, teachers, administrator, and parents can access the program from anywhere at any time, from any device, and we don’t need to keep up with program updates or backing up data. Attendance is a breeze—it just takes a few seconds for teachers to take Attendance. It can be taken on any device, including a smartphone. Setting up new students is simple and the students love how they can see their grades, chat with peers and teachers in the Class Discussions module, and see billing and payment information—they can see this from any device! The Gradebook module is excellent and it has saved our teachers many hours compared to how we used to calculate grades. The Fee Tracking module is easy to set up and use. We have full-time and part-time students, some live in dorms and some live at home. We can complete billing for the semester within 30 minutes. There is a Parent Messaging module that has email, text and voice messaging, but we do not use it. The Transcript module meets all our needs and wants, as it is highly customizable. Since we are a new school, we did not have the budget for a school software product that has high frontend costs. QuickSchools has a low monthly fee based on the number of active students, which makes budgeting easy and predictable. There are many 3rd part apps that are available inside of QuickSchools, so customizing the program to meet your specific needs is very possible. What we like best about QuickSchools is the customer support. I am usually in the US and I strongly preferred having US-based support. There is a chat tab at the bottom of the window and every time we’ve clicked on it, no matter the hour, we always had a friendly competent support person ready to help within a few seconds. Yes, seconds. We used them often during the first few months of using the program and only occasionally after that. When a teacher contacts me with a problem or question about QuickSchools that I cannot answer, it’s such a relief knowing that I will have an answer for them within minutes because I can depend on the support team. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** Teacher Attendance (not student attendance) is not part of the program, but there is a 3rd part app available for it. **Recommendations to others considering QuickSchools:** The administrators, teachers, and students are very happy with QuickSchools. We like the low cost of entry and we envision it meeting our needs as we grow. Customer support is excellent. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** Attendance and Gradebook modules are excellent and easy to use. Teachers no longer spend hours and hours calculating student grades. Ending the semester is less stressful because of it. ### 46. I like that I can seamlessly switch between the modules for daily tasks such as assigning homework, grading, messaging parents, managing discipline issues, among others. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** I find having to enter assignments twice, once under the homework module, then under the gradebook module, a bit tedious. I wish assignments entered into the homework module could automatically be reflected in the gradebook, and vice versa. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** With our previous management system, we used to have a lot of problems with students missing work, and parents only finding out about it either when the teacher reached out directly, or when a report went home. With QuickSchools, that problem has largely been solved because parents have real time access to grades through the parent portal and can keep track of their children's performance without having to wait for a report from the teacher. Students also have access to the grades through the student portal and more often than not attend to missing work and hand it in before the teacher asks. ### 48. I do like the fact that the SIS interface can be customized and we even were able to develop our own apps and integrate them in the system. Cost of customizing templates is acceptable. All in all a great ratio of quality/cost. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** It is missing some functionalities that we could use, or the functionalities are there but are a little limited for our particular use. I find that most SIS providers have this issue though, and even if they do offer all functionalities (at huge prices), the still don't completely meet our needs, so not a major issue with Quickschools. We have requested that they allow some kind of formatting in the emails we send to parents or staff through QS, hoping that they will add this capability soon. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** QS has allowed us to customize our report card templates multiple times, to generate various reports cross referencing many different fields both for our students and our staff. We are now managing staff attendance through Quickschools as well as student attendance, by developing our own staff attendance app and integrating it in the system. Also, we are now testing a custom grading system to use in our PYP/MYP school curriculum. Customer support has been super helpful in these updates. ### 49. The biggest difference between Quickschools and the 3 other programs I have tried at our school, is that Quickschools is simple and easy to follow. They take out the 1,000 of options (which other companies offer) and make it a simple program that is easy for parents and teachers to use. **What do you dislike about QuickSchools?** The least helpful part of the Quickschools is their customer service. I appreciate the fact that they have live chat available, but some of the people are not very helpful. When I print report cards it seems that we always have a few technical problems and something doesn't flow right from the gradebook to the report card. Customer service is always willing to help, but if you get the wrong person it can take hours or days to fix the problem at hand. **What problems is QuickSchools solving and how is that benefiting you?** I like having teachers enter their own attendance. It is also really nice having the ability to weight grades according to gradbook columns.
