What do you like best about Quicken?

It is so user-friendly and easy to use, even for the most novice of technology-users. Creating a budget and managing bills, looking at all your accounts in one place, auto-categorizing each purchase, its just so easy. I also love the green bars that show you how far away you are from goals. It is one of the oldest budgeting tools around but they have definitely updated the application to be in line with other competitors with 2020. Whatever you need it for financially, they have a ton of different packages to choose from. My father also uses it for his business as well as personal use.

It also seems like Quicken does monthly releases to include any bug fixes, you can email reports, and it seems just an overall faster and better user experience for things like investments, budget tracking and more. I also like how you can customize your dashboard so it will show you first what is most important to you at a glance.

I also LOVE the fact that you can sync it to your billers, like cell phone services and then you can see them in a calendar so you can see what is coming up due. If some of your bills are not online, you can input them manually and again, it will show you a projected account balance based off your input. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Quicken?

Sometimes I have a hard time connecting all of my transactions for some reason. Its like it doesn't want to update until the next day. Also the web version doesn't have all of the features like the desktop does. It gives a more streamlines dashboard but it is a tad bit easier to navigate. Even though the dashboard is customized, it almost seems like its TOO customizable. There are so many options to choose from (which can be good or bad depending on the user.) I personally do not like having too many choices as I tend to choose everything and then my dashboard looks too large. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Quicken:

I would suggest to at least try the product. They have a 30 day risk-free guarantee so if you don't like it, you can get a refund. I have used other budget tools and this one is easier to use than most, even if you have to pay the cost up front for the year, I definitely think its worth it. What problems is Quicken solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is so easy to create and stick to a budget with the app and desktop versions. It helps us manage our bills and automatically categorizes our purchases. I love that I can see all of my accounts in one place. What do you like best about Quicken?

The features for downloading transactions for most types of accounts including checking, money market, savings, loans, and online bill presentment. These are time saving features to have when they are working correctly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Quicken?

The frequent releases of a new version of the product and not supporting older versions. I have upgraded on average every two years since I began using Quicken in 1993. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Quicken:

This is an awesome tool to keep track of your personal finances and a small business. The recent change to an annual subscription should eliminate the new versions needing to be purchased and having older versions "sunset" on support.

I have used this product extensively since 1993 and have had great experience with it over the years. I highly recommend that you create numerous categories for your income and expenses. What problems is Quicken solving and how is that benefiting you?

Quicken gives me peace of mind to know where every dollar is coming in and going out. Reconciliation of accounts is virtually automatic if one uses the automatic transaction download. If not, it remains a faster task than the old fashioned balancing methods.

I also like the budgeting tool and the drill down capabilities in reports. In addition, having your monthly bills organized is a big time saver for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great software for managing finances"

What do you like best about Quicken?

This software is easy to use, like keeping a checkbook register up-to-date. What I like the best, however, is the reporting tools to be able to see my spending overall or just in what particular category. This especially makes preparing my tax returns easier/more accurate. This didn't end up being what my employer needed, but for my own small business and personal finances, this software is exactly what I needed to track my income and expenses, assets and liabilities. I especially like how I can get a quick snapshot of my net work based on those items as well as a easy reports and graphs showing where my expenses are going. What do you like best about Quicken?

Importing sometimes can be a challenge but I've worked around it with using excel to help. Once you get this down one time it becomes easier to import future banking and credit cards Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Quicken?

I found quicken to be a very stable products with most bugs worked out years ago. Support was very good as well which can be expected with an older product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Quicken?

I found it hard to migrate / update as you grow beyond a sole proprietor. I also had issues with bill pay and downloading exports as well. Lack of portability becomes a big issue as most of us need. Their web version is limiting and not full blown. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Quicken:

I would have started with Quickbooks or something similar. If you have very limited expenses and income then Quicken would work for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
