"Intuitive Accounting with Real-Time Insights, Needs Improved Navigation"
3.5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

I appreciate how QuickBooks Online transforms accounting from a messy, manual process into something clear and actionable. It provides real-time visibility into outstanding balances and offers automation like recurring payments. I love that I can access it anywhere, anytime, and it acts as a live dashboard of the financial health of my business. I also find it useful for tracking invoices, payments, and outstanding balances in real-time, and generating reports that give clear visibility and insights. What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

Navigation isn't intuitive especially for new users. Pricing tiers can feel restrictive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Bookkeeping and Seamless Integration with QuickBooks Online"
4/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

QuickBooks Online has earned its reputation as the industry standard for small business bookkeeping, and it’s easy to see why. The cloud-based platform allows me to access my books from anywhere, whether I’m at my desk or traveling, which is a significant advantage over traditional desktop software.

Another notable benefit is how smoothly QBO integrates with other Intuit products. The entire ecosystem feels unified—bookkeeping, tax preparation, invoicing, and advisory tools all work together effortlessly. This level of integration streamlines my workflow and helps keep my financial records accurate and consistent across different platforms. For maintaining compliance and building client trust, that reliability is truly invaluable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

While QBO offers robust features, it can become costly compared to other options, particularly when you begin adding extra modules. The interface, although effective, may seem daunting to newcomers, and there is a noticeable learning curve for advanced functionalities. Although I have found alternatives that are simpler to use or tailor to my business, what draws me to QBO is the comprehensive Intuit ecosystem, which includes access to live payroll and bookkeeping support whenever I need it. What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

I like that team members can also view in real time. In general it works well and helps us stay on track. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

You could have multiple companies on the desktop version. There isn't a way to do that now. And there is no discount even if you want to do that. This pricing has really effected how I view the online version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Send me all the alternatives, I would love nothing more than to ditch QB"
0/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

Built for ecommerce (unfortunately, we aren't ecommerce based) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

**NOTE - on pro version

Will not print pay stubs (must go create a separate report for each vendor if you need to include all invoices on a separate pay stub)

Customer Support is TERRIBLE.

No work around for work order tracking (previously used sales orders in desktop, not a workable option in online).

Things that were user-friendly in desktop (like chart of accounts & bank ledgers, for ex. are a giant PITA)

You cannot backup your data (without a 3rd party app) and "exporting" is so limited you will lose everything if there's an issue.

Again, cannot be overstated just how bad their support is.

Migrating from desktop took over 3 weeks to correct issues and the advice from reps would've horribly screwed up PL/balance sheet so be prepared to figure it out yourself or pay for their accountant service.

Sidenote, I also work in QB online for a non-profit (in addition to my for-profit day job) - their 'non-profit accounting' is just the for profit software with different labels slapped onto reports, there is NO fund accounting capability.

Lastly, their support is terrible, do NOT trust their advice, it is often bad. If you don't understand your books get a second opinion before doing anything they recommend to solve an issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
