"Centralized, Cloud-Based Bookkeeping That Makes Reviews and Reporting Easy"
5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

What I like most about QuickBooks Online is how it keeps the bookkeeping workflow centralized and easy to review. Bank feeds, reconciliations, invoicing, customer and vendor details, reports, and attachments can all live in one place, which makes it simpler to track activity and clean things up when needed.

For accounting firm work in particular, I also appreciate that it’s cloud-based. Multiple people can review the same file at the same time without passing around backups, and we can pull reports quickly whenever we need a P&L, balance sheet, transaction detail, AR/AP, sales tax information, or similar items. "Time-Saving AI and Easy Navigation, but Reports Can Be Unreliable"
3/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

I like being able to apply Rules for expense categorization. The AI assistant saves me tons of time when adding bills by auto-filling information for me. The daily tasks I perform in Quickbooks are made easy, and is smooth to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

Performance can be unreliable when working with data-heavy reports. When I’m creating my EOM finance report, I often get kicked back to the homepage because the Reports page can’t handle what I’m working on. I didn't have much support while onboarding from Quickbooks itself, it it usually up to our staff to train new users on how to use Quickbooks for our purposes. "QBO Makes Accounting and Invoicing Seamless—Anywhere, Anytime"
5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

QBO made it very easy to handle every aspect of the business's accounting. Invoicing, taking payments, receivables, payables, reports, etc., were all seamless to work on. The ability to log in anywhere and use it was a huge plus as well.

QBO connecting with our SaaS, Service Fusion, also made our work easier. All the invoices and payments would sync over, and it just made everything run smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

There really wasn't much I disliked. Every feature I used worked well, and QBO was continually improving. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"New Online Version Regresses Many Standard Capabilities To Capture More Profit"
0/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

nothing at the moment. Can't wait until after 2025 tax seaon to switch Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

QuickBooks Online has deliberately removed the ability to print IRS-compliant 1099 forms with boxes, a feature that existed for years and is still required for many established workflows.

There is no technical limitation here — the data exists, but the form layout is intentionally suppressed to push users into paid e-filing. This forces businesses and accounting firms to either pay extra, manually re-enter data into IRS PDFs, or use third-party services.

This is a clear regression, not an improvement. It increases cost, wastes time, introduces error risk, and creates unnecessary compliance confusion. Removing core functionality to coerce add-on purchases undermines trust in the platform.

If you rely on predictable, standards-based accounting workflows, be aware that QuickBooks can and will remove them without notice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Bank Transaction Categorization Without Journal Entries"
5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

The way you can categorize all bank transactions without needing to create Journal Entries for each processing, the fastest way to match with already registered invoices, upload the invoice image so that the system reads it and automatically fills in the fields and classifies it only in the original expense account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

It has many functions that make the program very heavy and it can slow down the system a lot, which sometimes can freeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"QBO"
5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

I really love how easy it is to review the bank feeds and complete the monthly bank and credit card reconciliations. I also appreciate being able to customize reports and save them, so they’re simple to pull up again later when I need them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

The reports: I’m much more familiar with the Desktop reports than the Online ones, and I’ve found the reports in QBO to be less user-friendly. I’m getting more comfortable with them month by month, and using the reports has definitely become easier as I learn my way around. That said, the filter options still aren’t as strong as the options in Desktop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Boosts Automation, Needs Better Bill Workflow"
3.5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

I like QuickBooks Online because it automatically adds bank transactions to my books, which greatly reduces manual tasks. I also appreciate the ability to sync transactions from my bank directly with QuickBooks. This feature is really valuable as it saves a lot of time and effort. Additionally, being able to use QuickBooks in the cloud is a significant advantage. It allows for easier sharing with external accountants. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

The workflow for bill approvals. I signed up for bill paid but I had to unsubscribe because there's no way to manually add approvers to each bill. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-friendly and affordable for small-size companies, but rigid for complex workflows."
3/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

User-friendly and easy to navigate, and very affordable. It's a good fit for small to mid-sized companies that don't have overly complicated processes. It integrates with other systems, but integration often requires a significant amount of work or the use of third-party tools that can be expensive. Performance is solid since it's hosted online. Support is decent—I would rate it 7/10—and I haven't seen much AI use in it yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

Ridit and can't be customizable for complicated processes, reporting is not as customizablre also, integration with other tools require much work or 3rd party systems that could cost alot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Convenient Anywhere Access, but Desktop Still Feels More User-Friendly"
3.5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

QuickBooks Online is convenient because you can access it from any computer, anywhere. Other than that I prefer the old QuickBooks Desktop layout better, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

I don't find it as user-friendly as basic bookkeeping functions. In desktop everything I needed was easy to find, not so in the Online version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
