"User-Friendly and Cloud-Based, But Needs Robust Workflows"
4/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

I like that QuickBooks Online saves time by being cloud-based, eliminating the need to print and keep paper copies of supporting documents. It's user-friendly, which means there's little or no time needed for training team members. I also appreciate that it's available on smartphones, which is really useful for staff who are on the move. The initial setup was very easy, which made the whole transition smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

The recently introduced approval workflow is nice but very basic. The matrix for the workflow is very basic, and it could be improved by allowing more complex approvals, like assigning more than one person or allowing mass updates. Having a chat section for each transaction to show the audit trail would be great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Financial Tracking and Time Saver"
5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

I find QuickBooks Online to be a very good and easy app that saves a lot of my time. It simplifies invoice creation so I can make and send them in just a few clicks, which speeds up my work. I also like how it helps me track my expenses without sorting through receipts manually, as it automatically records everything. It keeps all my payments and transactions in one place, making it faster to work and view my finances easily and clearly. It's particularly useful during tax season, keeping all my documents ready without headaches. Additionally, I use it with PayPal, email, payroll tools, Excel, and banking apps, which makes managing everything convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

Honestly, everything about QuickBooks Online is best. However, it is little difficult to learn the system but we get used to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortlessly Streamlines Invoicing and Client Payments"
4.5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

I like how you can quickly search for any customer information. You can create a statement with a balance forward or open item as well. I also like the estimate feature. And I like how it also can automatically chase clients when they haven't paid within their set time frame. It significantly reduces the time that I have to spend chasing clients for payments and searching for a specific invoice or customer engagement item, making everything quick and easy for both myself and the client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

Sometimes, the payment link doesn't seem to work properly, and they have to keep refreshing it, and then try again the next week to pay via card. Also, it would be good to have the option to split an invoice and send 50% to one client, 50% to another client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly, Anywhere Access Accounting with Powerful Real-Time Reporting."
5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

What I like best about QuickBooks Online is its user-friendly interface and ease of access from anywhere. It simplifies accounting tasks like invoicing, expense tracking, and bank reconciliation, making day-to-day financial management much more efficient. The real-time reporting feature also helps in making quick and informed business decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

What I dislike about QuickBooks Online is that it can sometimes be slow or laggy, especially when working with large data sets. Certain features feel limited compared to the desktop version, and customization options for reports are not always flexible. Additionally, the subscription cost can be high for small businesses, and customer support response times can occasionally be inconsistent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Automated Transaction Imports with Helpful Tutorials"
4/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

It’s easy to have transactions automatically pulled in from our bank and cards, and then categorized for accounting. Our accountant can also log in without any hassle and pick up right where we left off to handle our taxes and related tasks. On top of that, I’ve benefited from the tutorials and other resources available, which have been genuinely helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

Some of the AI features or features that are designed to make things more efficient actually ends up making things less efficient for us because it will categorize incorrectly or make suggestions that are not correct. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy, Flexible Accounting with Seamless Integrations."
5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

We’ve been using QuickBooks Online across multiple clients and entities, mainly for bookkeeping, payroll tracking, and monthly reporting. What works well is how easy it is to set up and get started, especially for standard accounting workflows.

The bank feeds and rules help save time on repetitive entries, and it integrates with a lot of third-party apps which is useful in our case since every client has a slightly different setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

One thing that can be frustrating is how it handles multi-entity or non-US setups. We’ve had situations where we needed to configure entities outside the US, and the system doesn’t always adapt smoothly.

Also, in non-US setups, the number of apps supported through the integration feature is very limited. For example, one of our clients in the UK is using Ramp, but QBO UK doesn’t support integration with Ramp, which increases manual work on our end.

On top of that, the user interface changes far too quickly. It keeps getting updated, and it becomes hard to stay familiar with the workflow when the interface is changing so often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive Accounting, But Reporting and Usability Need Work"
3.5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

I appreciate the full range of options; QBO really has a monopoly in the online accounting software space. There isn’t much that truly competes with it, largely because of its name recognition. I know that if we use QBO, any accounting professional will be able to work with it. It covers all of our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

I feel like the reporting dashboards are never 100% accurate or fully trustworthy. The way the information is laid out, along with the recent updates, felt unnecessary and made things harder to follow. Overall, it isn’t very user-friendly unless you’ve had training or have been using it for a long time. Customer support is lacking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy, Low-Cost Real-Time Access to Financials with Great Integrations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

QuickBooks Online has been an easy way for our fully remote organization to all have access to the financial data for the organization - in real time. There are new features constantly being rolled out, to better support the organization. It is relatively low-cost, is easy to use, and was relatively easy to set up. There are great integrations to further productivity. We use it daily to weekly. We've had great experience with their customer service as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

Sometimes QuickBooks Online has issues with the file uploads for the various transactions. Additionally, if you are uploading backup files for each transaction, it gets really time consuming. It would be much better if there were a drag/drop function as it would greatly decrease the time taken each month to handle that portion of the financial work. "Easy Accountant Access for Fast, Reliable Tax Information"
5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

I like that our accountant can access it easily and pull all the tax information we need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

When a customer paid an invoice that wasn’t entered in the online system, they still received the payment for us, then charged us to deposit it into our own account. After that, they started doing direct deposits on every payment and charged us for each deposit. Also, when our customer paid an invoice and then stopped payment, Quickbooks refunded them and charged us without even asking what the situation was, so we ended up having to bill that customer because of the charge they passed on to us. "Okay, but lot's of room for improvement. Desktop is superior in almost every way."
3/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

The bank transactions page works pretty well. And I like that when you create a copy, it says it's a copy until you save it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

The reporting is too basic. It's too expensive for small companies. I can't make different files look different enough (the colors in the desktop version are so helpful. I HATE all the ads. We definitely do NOT need or want a lot of the services it's promoting, and it frequently interrupts my work. I need a better solution for having multiple entities. I wish I could have more than file open at once and use different colored backgrounds to help keep track the file I'm working in. I NEED TO BE ABLE TO CREATE A RULE THAT LINKS BANK ACCOUNTS TO CLASSES!!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
