The reporting is too basic. It's too expensive for small companies. I can't make different files look different enough (the colors in the desktop version are so helpful. I HATE all the ads. We definitely do NOT need or want a lot of the services it's promoting, and it frequently interrupts my work. I need a better solution for having multiple entities. I wish I could have more than file open at once and use different colored backgrounds to help keep track the file I'm working in. There are three things that do not work well on QuickBooks. 1. Their customer support is in Pacific Standard Time hours, making it difficult to get answers early in the morning if you're in a different time zone. Also, they try to upsell on everything constantly. It's frustrating to deal with upselling when you're reaching out for support with a problem. 2. They are constantly changing the interface. Every few months, something changes whether it's the naming of a specific tab or relocating tabs that are frequently used. Moreover, there are too many tabs and options that contradict each other. For example, payroll and time seem intertwined unnecessarily. 3. QuickBooks services are very slow, and they don't meet the promised timelines. When I asked them to close my books, it took almost two months instead of the promised 10 days. They also delayed notifying about issues like payroll not going through due to account freeze. We have been using Quickbooks for years now, we find it is easy to use and we have it integrated with a software where we manage work orders. Quickbooks helps the software easily calculate tax rates based on the area we are working in. It is very reliable, there are hardly ever any issues, but when there are issues support is easy to reach via chat. We are happy with the pricing and software in general. I find QuickBooks Online very easy to use. I also appreciate how it integrates with a separate module that my accountant has which is specifically designated for accountant use, allowing her to access my accounting information seamlessly through the QuickBooks Online interface and thus see exactly what I see when I logon. This makes it much easier for me to communicate with my accountant about tax preparation and business management questions. The program tends to run many scripts in the background and can be slow at times to load. Also, recently, Intuit announced that QuickBooks Online reports will be presented in a new, modern layout.
