It used to be easier to download transactions from PayPal to its own bank register. Now it's in a separate area in the integrated apps, so you no longer have it in your bank feed screen. No work around for work order tracking (previously used sales orders in desktop, not a workable option in online). Things that were user-friendly in desktop (like chart of accounts & bank ledgers, for ex. are a giant PITA) You cannot backup your data (without a 3rd party app) and "exporting" is so limited you will lose everything if there's an issue. Again, cannot be overstated just how bad their support is. Migrating from desktop took over 3 weeks to correct issues and the advice from reps would've horribly screwed up PL/balance sheet so be prepared to figure it out yourself or pay for their accountant service. Sidenote, I also work in QB online for a non-profit (in addition to my for-profit day job) - their 'non-profit accounting' is just the for profit software with different labels slapped onto reports, there is NO fund accounting capability. Lastly, their support is terrible, do NOT trust their advice, it is often bad. If you don't understand your books get a second opinion before doing anything they recommend to solve an issue. **What problems is QuickBooks Online solving and how is that benefiting you?** At this point it has only created problems, I wish I never ever migrated to it. There a multitude of reports that I use for various reason and find them exceptional compared to other software. Payroll is another stand out for me as everything can be done in the payroll screen without having to go elsewhere including reporting. Custom support is also good and you do get to speak to a human in real time and get your issue fixed immediately without having to wait hours for an answer. I have found the new interface is really good now as well and it is also easily customised to suit what the user wants to see. **What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?** The new bank feed is very challenging and so far am not a fan of it. I would not recommend migrating from another software platform to QBO as I have never had a pleasant experience with this. I would always use opening balances to start a new file from an old. **What problems is QuickBooks Online solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability to quickly work in bulk (batch allocation) and I love the rules to be able to do this.
