One thing i have really come to appreciate lately is the batch invoicing and expense management features its saved our team a ton of time during month end close. I used to enter transactions one by one, and now i can bulk process them, which has cut our bookkeeping time down noticeably.

Honestly, the pricing jump from the regular QuickBooks Online plants to advanced is pretty steep, and i think a lot of smaller businesses get priced out before they can even try the features that would actually help them scale.

One smaller thing, the custom reporting is powerful, but it has a real learning curve.

I personally don't like QuickBooks Online Advanced. I wish I never went over to QuickBooks Online Advanced. If I could somehow go back to the desktop version without too much hassle, I would do it in a heartbeat. I don't value any of the QuickBooks Online Advanced features because the desktop has way more features. The desktop allowed me to do much more personalization and put things in categories that made sense to me. Once porting over to the Online Advanced version, it took away a lot of the individual things that I needed it to do, and it put things in ridiculous categories. I don't believe that the online advanced deserves the name advanced. It needs to go back to everything that the desktop version has in order to be advanced. If you're moving somebody from the desktop version to the online version, then you need to move them over with all the same features. And if you're not moving them over with the same features, you need to move them over with better features, not take them away. The initial setup was a huge pain, and the porting was done incredibly poorly by the QuickBooks team, and I lost multiple files. I like that QuickBooks Online Advanced is a trusted platform that my bookkeepers prefer to use. It's great for keeping all of our payment records in one place and provides an easy invoicing process for clients. Payroll and paying contractors. I have not been able to activate or be able to send contractor payments through QuickBooks and am paying for this service. And I have been through several customer service calls now at this point to do this. I have been paying for the service and have not been able to actually use it. It's very frustrating. I really like that I can access QuickBooks Online Advanced from anywhere, which is extremely helpful when we travel for business. Being able to check on the bank balance, payroll, and receivables from anywhere we travel is valuable. I'm also exploring the mineral aspect, which seems like it could be incredibly helpful, especially for setting up new employee handbooks and various other tasks. I get frustrated in that sometimes, especially in the payroll functions, it changes various things. Or it will change an employee randomly from direct deposit to a paycheck. I like the Intuit Intelligence or AI features in QuickBooks Online Advanced, especially for the income statement and other reports we run. These features help us perform trend analysis and highlight important insights, which is quite useful for our financial statements. I also appreciate the functionality that allows us to save certain types of helpful reports, such as those on a unit-level basis. This includes the ability to directly bill customers for things like deposits or invoices. The AI features have been very helpful for our team, who aren't particularly AI-savvy, in catching mistakes and providing better context for running the business at the CFO level. Additionally, the capability to save reports on a unit level is extremely helpful for generating owner statements, whether at the unit level or rolled up to a portfolio level. I think that QuickBooks Online is a good general-purpose tool. It is not very intuitive or set up well for our particular property management world. It would be helpful if there were modules or ways to customize trust accounting or the ability to have a parent and a subsidiary company in a more streamlined fashion, similar to the way other larger property managers set up. I really enjoy the automation features available in QuickBooks Online Advance. When you don’t have a large office staff, those tools make a big difference. The automatic matching for bank transactions is especially helpful, and being able to create entries directly from the bank feed is quick and easy without having to navigate to a new screen. Our vendors and our team can also email bills straight into the system, and QuickBooks Online Advanced scans the PDF invoice, matches the vendor, and suggests the best account. When we first started using QuickBooks Online Advanced, it was a bit frustrating to import our prior information because there wasn’t a direct link. We ended up moving journal entries 1,000 lines at a time using the Excel/CSV import feature. That import option wasn’t available on some of the other QuickBooks Online levels. For our company, having our previous sales information in the system was important so we could compare our growth and make use of the financial charts available in QuickBooks Online Advanced. What I like best about QuickBooks Online Advanced is the ability to manage the business from anywhere. Being able to access everything online from any computer, whether I am in the office, at home, or traveling, is extremely important compared to the old desktop version that was limited to one computer.

I also appreciate that QuickBooks is continuously improving and developing new features. It feels like the platform keeps getting better over time instead of staying the same.

Another great thing is that QuickBooks offers many tools in one place, such as accounting, reporting, payroll, taxes, invoicing, expenses, and other business features. What I dislike most about QuickBooks Online Advanced is the pricing structure. I feel like once my business is set up and fully using QuickBooks, I become locked into the system, and then the price keeps increasing over time.

The issue is not only the cost itself, but the lack of control. After one or two years, the subscription price can go up again, and because all my accounting, reports, payroll, taxes, and business records are already inside QuickBooks, it becomes difficult to switch to another system.

I understand that software companies may increase prices sometimes, but I would prefer more predictable pricing, better long-term price protection, or more loyalty consideration for existing customers.
