Quickbooks Desktop Payroll has been easy to use and has all the information quickly accessible. All taxes are figured for you and I like that I can preview all the deductions before printing checks. If a copy of the paystub is needed, it is easy to do. Sometimes I have had to make paychecks out a day early and it is great that I can. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about QuickBooks Desktop Payroll? The price is the hardest part. It is too pricey for really small businesses. I dislike having to pay an annual fee and then a per person fee. What do you dislike about QuickBooks Desktop Payroll? SUPER Costly. I guess I'm not 100% sure how much other services cost, but I feel like having something integrated should LOWER the cost. Running a weekly payroll that is integrated into everything is very convenient. I do not have to pass on informatin to outsourced payrool companies. The biggest help with QB Desktop Payroll is that we already use QB for other accounting needs, and it helps us by correctly calculating Liabilities (Federal/State/Local Tax, plus Social Security or other withholding). It also automatically updates these calculations should laws change for your needs. We also only use the paper check option, so I can't comment about the integrated Direct Deposit option, though it exists. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about QuickBooks Desktop Payroll? My biggest issue with QB is that first, you have a yearly subscription to QB Desktop and a secondary subscription to use the Payroll option. A combined $1000 (plus the per-employee fees, etc.) per year can be a chunk out of the budget. The other side of the coin is you will always have a cost to payroll, and what is it worth to you to have it all in one system. My most frequent request to QB regarding Payroll would be to have an "a-la-carte" option for the many different capabilities, as many companies may not need all of the Bells and Whistles but must pay for them in the package deal. The reason we use Payroll is so that our accountant doesn't need to calculate the "liabilities" each pay, for each employee. This greatly decreased the time she had to spend cutting payroll. Quickbooks payroll is perfect for a small business or small non profit organization. Its very easy to navigate and pretty self explanatory, I figured it out myself but I don't necessarily recommend that to be the best option for all people. I am just happen to learn better hands on. You can always share login info but for security purposes and documentation, I think it's important to have multiple user option. Quickbooks desktop payroll gave us an easy option for direct deposit and employee access to paystubs and also with the assisted payroll it automatically takes care of the tax deductions and filing for you.
