What do you like best about QuickBooks Desktop Payroll?

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Desktop Payroll?

I have not yet come across anything I dislike about this program that would cause me to consider using something else instead. I do find it frustrating at times that my logins for this software have to be entered for almost every action Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about QuickBooks Desktop Payroll?

Once you get used to using it the system is quite simple to use. Just have to make sure each employee profile is set up correctly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Desktop Payroll?

You can't create multiple checks for the same person in the same batch. You have to run the checks for the scheduled payroll and do a separate batch in unscheduled payroll for a second check. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Tightly Integrated Payroll for QuickBooks"

What do you like best about QuickBooks Desktop Payroll?

I've been running my company's payroll through Quickbooks desktop for nearly 10 years. I appreciate how tightly integrated the payroll is with Quickbooks itself. When it's time to generate payroll I can do so easily without leaving Quickbooks by downloading the latest updates and moving through the payroll screens needed to generate each paycheck. There's no need to get out of Quickbooks or look up information elsewhere to create payroll. I also like how I can easily generate reports in Quickbooks and access tax documents through multiple years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Desktop Payroll?

While Payroll for Quickbooks is very convenient, it's also fairly expensive, especially for a small business like mine. It's cheaper, although less convenient, to use a separate, lower-cost payroll system and then to enter the information each payroll separately into QuickBooks. Recommendations to others considering QuickBooks Desktop Payroll:

Well worth considering if you are already committed to using Quickbooks on the desktop. It's saves a lot of time over non-integrated payroll solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is QuickBooks Desktop Payroll solving and how is that benefiting you?

I don't have too many full time employees, and I certainly don't have my own accountant in house. So Payroll for Quickbooks helps me generate payroll quickly and fairly easily without relying on outside support to do so. It also saves me time over using a separate payroll service and then manually entering the information or using some kind of data import scheme. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easiest Way to Run Payroll"

What do you like best about QuickBooks Desktop Payroll?

I like that you can integrate Quickbooks with almost any other time tracking system, such as TimeClock+ our current onsite digital clock. It makes running payroll quick and easy, you can select which check style you're using and enter time quickly. Many things are customizable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Desktop Payroll?

Quickbooks has no way to discern between vacation and sick pay hours that I can figure out, also, it tracks vacation hours from the beginning of the year on paystubs rather than the set beginning of the year per employee which makes it very hard to figure out how much time they have left. The biggest problem we solved is keeping track of vacation and sick time available and used by each employee. Prior to QB we were keeping everything on an excel document, but now QB manages sick and vacation time and even prints availability on stubs for employee records.
