There are so many fields to use or not use, PLUS there are User Defined Fields that can be utilized in several ways. This has allowed us to grow the software with our company's needs! There aren't a ton of downsides of QT9 that I have ran into so far. The big one is that at first, it can be pretty overwhelming, especially from the set-up side. I also have some concerns with onboarding the rest of the company when they are not used to having a QMS system at all. However, QT9 has plenty of training resources, so that is helpful! The software is easy to use, all of the modules are included and you choose what you use over time, and there is a lot of support and guidance when implementing each module. Being an on-premise customer we get updates later than the cloud-based customers; some modules send a lot of emails, and some modules do not send emails at all; the external document module is not very helpful in its current state, and the supplier module isn't as robust as our supplier selection and evaluation process so we do not utilize it at the moment. Strite's QMS was a paper-based controlled system with information in various silos throughout the organization. Document control, CAR, and NCP processes were very difficult to manage and keep track of. QT9 QMS allows users to easily upload, view, review, and revise documents. There are also many modules that link to one another, so there is no need to duplicate data entry. One small downside is that if a user has multiple access levels in different modules, that user will receive mulitple emails from the QT9 QMS system concerning the same change (i.e. document revision or NCP closure). The largest benefit of using QT9 QMS is moving away from hard-copy documents and oversized binders. Moreover, the customer support team is incredibly knowledgeable and always available to assist with any questions or concerns. There are no true downsides to QT9. All modules are well-designed and very practical. The system allows you to make the necessary changes while still keeping the system validated. For example, we are not connected to some of the new bells and whistles, such as QT9 University. Before QT9 as VP of Quality, I had no means by which I could monitor activity. We used many spreadsheets to accomplish the requirements of the AS9100 standard.
