Structural designs are often pulled from the structural engineer's desk before they are completed. This phenomenon often results in high volumes of RFIs and change orders which cause schedule and cost overruns, and excess embodied carbon. Project teams have tried to mitigate these challenges in different ways, from in-house solutions, to new project delivery methodologies, to team collaboration tools.
