In addition, it has fully connected graphics that allow you to dive into the data easily to find the insights and the maps also provide great usability. In the technical part, it has multiple connectors to be able to connect to almost any data source and it has a script part that allows the processing and modeling of the data in a simple and fast way. It is easy to add a complete variety of sources from different platforms and blend it all into locally-stored data models that make reloading and manipulating your data incredibly fast. I think the ETL tools completely out-perform established tools like Informatica Cloud in every way, from loading to transforming and even auto-scheduling. **What do you dislike about Qlik Sense?** There are a few things I disagree with about Qlik, but mainly it is their pricing. The token model is not a good fit for us, we have many dedicated users who need their own token, so I feel like we are over-paying for these users. Also, like any software company out there, the slick selling of products based on future features is sneaky, but seems to be the industry norm. Be sure you are comfortable with their product roadmap before you sign. **Recommendations to others considering Qlik Sense:** Start with the free trial tool, it is a fully functioning version. You will be amazed. **What problems is Qlik Sense solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had lots of trapped data that required software engineers to write custom SQL queries to get at, and thus our access to data was horribly slow. Qlik Sense allowed us the ability to get the data out quick, fast and cheap without revamping our entire legacy database platform. Now we have more data than our entire team could utilize building out reports and dashboards over the next 10 years. Be prepared to add a few analysts to do nothing but build apps and dashboards once you go live! As when users get a taste of what Qlik does on the visualization side, they will keep on asking for more. ### 16. I'm seeing companies changing Qlik as BI tool (to Power BI or Tableau) just because Qlik makes an entire environment in QVD. It is much better to work with QVDs, but companies see it as being hostage to a non-agnostic tool. **What problems is Qlik Sense solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have been building complex dashboards with a large amount of data, with excellent performance for an insurance company. Also since we need more complex visibility on trends regular patches on query becomes a tidius work. Patches and maintenance are not straight forward untill you learn the entire query. It's takes a lot of time to start and get stable once we launch the application. It can connect to every kind of data imaginable. Its ETL is as powerful and flexible as SQL (and is very SQL-like in syntax, lowering the learning curve) plus its has powerful load script library of functions that can accomplish in two or three parameters what would take a stored procedure in SQL. Case in point, FirstSortedValue and AutoNumber, both small but mighty. **What do you dislike about Qlik Sense?** Partner support can be disappointing, which is not actually Qlik, but the only thing I dislike about using Qlik Sense. If your company buys through a partner, some are better than others, be thorough in your selection. **Recommendations to others considering Qlik Sense:** Give serious consideration to the cloud options where Qlik hosts your data and maintains the platform. A top tier Qlik support contract is very important, even more so if you host in-house. Don't confuse that support with the "Qlik Community" which is unrivaled in the industry and an excellent resource for new and experienced users. **What problems is Qlik Sense solving and how is that benefiting you?** We (in IT) are able to free our data, from spreadsheet hell, to be found and used by our business users, who have eons of combined experience and are able to learn and use Qlik Sense to develop new content - to actually improve sales or reduce returns. "Democratized analytics" might be what that's called, and it brings me joy to see business users applying their expertise using Qlik Sense as a platform. ### 29. I can combine data from Salesforce, GovWin, and excel to create multi-purpose dashboards for enhanced reporting. **What do you dislike about Qlik Sense?** I had an error in one of my apps that prevented a data refresh. Qlik engineers were unable to fix the problem either, so I had to rebuild the entire app from scratch. Thankfully, I could copy/paste individual charts within each sheet into the new app, but I still had to recreate the entire data model. **What problems is Qlik Sense solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Salesforce to track opportunities and their individual value, but Salesforce has limited abilities for reporting and licenses are expensive (even for read-only users). Instead, we have an automated datafeed to Qlik with read-only licenses for our company's leadership team to easily review financial forecasts from our Business Development pipeline. ### 30. Qik Sense helps ingest the data and provides AI-assisted actionable insights into sales performance, inventory, and projections by Brand, Category, Product, Outlet, Price Band, and many other dimensions that are crucial to the operations of a retail business. Some of the benefits realized are higher same-store sales growth, optimum inventory levels across stores and fewer stock outages. ### 39.
